reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, with a lack of
experience and without the appropriate knowledge, unless they
are supervised by someone who is responsible for their safety
or have been instructed by such a person with regard to how the
unit is to be operated.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the device.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference
1). WORK AREA SAFETY
Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas
invite accidents. Rags, cloths, cord, string and similar items
should never be left around the work area
Do not operate power tools in explosive environments, such
as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power
tools create sparks, which may ignite the dust or fumes.
Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power
tool. Distractions can cause the operator to lose control.
2). ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the
plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with grounded
power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will
reduce risk of electric shock.
Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes,
radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is increased risk of
electric shock if your body is grounded.
Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water
entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling
or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat,
oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Replace damaged cords
immediately. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of
electric shock.
When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord
suitanbe for outdoor use.Use of a cord suitable for outdoor
reduces the risk of electric shock.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, the manufacturer recommends
the use of a residual current of 30mA or less at all times.
3
3). PERSONAL SAFETY
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense
when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while
you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication. A moment of inattention while operating power
tools may result in serious personal injury.
Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye
protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid
safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection will reduce
personal injures.
Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the “off”
position before connecting to power source and/or battery
pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with
your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have
the switch on invites accidents.
Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power
tool on. A wrench or key left attached to a rotating part of the
power tool may result in personal injury.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at
all times. This enables better control of the power tool in
unexpected situations.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep
your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose
clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction
and collection facilities , ensure these are connected and
properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related
hazards.
4). POWER TOOL USE AND CARE
Do not force the power tools. Use the correct power tool for
your application. The correct power tool will do the job better
and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it “on”
and “off”. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the
switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery
pack from the power tool before making any adjustments,
changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive
safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool
accidentally.
Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do
not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these
instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are
dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
Maintain power tools with care. Check for misalignment or
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other
condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If
damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many
accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained
cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind
and are easier to control.
Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in
accordance with these instructions, taking into account the
working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the
power tool for operations different from those intended could
result in a hazardous situation.
5). Servicing
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person
using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that
the safety of the power tools is maintained.

What substances can this
Paint Sprayer
be used with?
The following substances are suitable for use with this
Paint Sprayer:
Water- and solvent-based paints, finishes, primers,
2-component paints, clear finishes, automotive finishes,
staining sealers and wood sealer-preservatives.
DO NOT use the following:
Dispersion and latex paints
Materials containing strong abrasives,
Glazes with coarse particles,
Strippers and caustic solutions,
Silicate paints.
Wall paints (emulsions)
Lyes and acid containing coating materials.
Note: The use of these spray materials can lead to increased
wear or corrosion damage in the nozzle of the sprayer, which is
not covered by warranty.
Preparation of Spray Material
Most paints will require dilution before using with your Paint
Sprayer. Refer to the guidelines in the viscosity table below for
the recommended required dilution. The correct dilution can be
achieved by using the viscosity test cup supplied with your paint
sprayer. (Note: Viscosity = consistency of the paint).
Measuring the Viscosity
To measure the viscosity of the spray material follow these
instructions (refer Fig B):
1. Dip the viscosity test cup
completely into the spray material
to be used.
2. Hold the test cup up and
measure the time (in seconds)
until the liquid empties out of the
viscosity cup.
3. Compare the measured “runout
time with the Viscosity Table to
establish the required viscosity
Preparing for Operation
Ensure you check and follow the below recommended steps
before using your Paint Sprayer
1. Before connecting your paint sprayer to the mains supply,
ensure that the supply voltage is identical with the value
given on the rating label (on the side of the Paint sprayer).
Note: To reduce the risk of electric shock, the manufacturer
recommends the use of a residual current of 30mA or less at
all times.
2. Dilute the spray material according to the viscosity table.
3. Place the paint pot on a sheet of paper and fill it with the
prepared spray material.
NOTE: It is strongly recommended to fill the paint pot through a

Adjusting the suction tube
The suction tube positioning can be adjusted in order to optimise
the paint flow during spraying sessions.
The suction tube should be adjusted to a position that suits the
angle the spray gun will be positioned during use.
1. Suction tube in the forward position:
By rotating the suction tube into the forward position (Fig C),
the sprayer is best used for spraying low areas, or tasks that
require the sprayer to pointed in a downwards direction.
2. Suction tube in the backward position:
By rotating the suction tube into the backward position (Fig D),
the sprayer is best used for spraying overhead areas, or tasks
that require the sprayer to pointed in an upwards direction.
Operation
Spray Technique
Before using your
paint sprayer, read the
following tips for spraying
techniques:
Cover areas that are not to be sprayed. When working keep
in mind that wind, for example, may transport paint mist over
great distances and cause damage.
Test the spray gun on cardboard or a similar surface to find the
correct setting before you start spraying your work piece.
When spraying, hold the spray gun in a horizontal position.
Always hold the spray gun at an even distance of approx.
10-30cm from the object to be sprayed. (ref Fig E).
The spray movement should come from the arm, not just from
the wrist. This ensures that a uniform distance is maintained
between the spray gun and the spray surface during the spray
operation.
To achieve optimal spray results, spray back and forth over the
surface (refer Fig F).
Starting the Paint Sprayer
1. To start the paint sprayer, press the on/off switch by pushing
down on the “I”.
2. To stop the paint sprayer, press the on/off switch by pushing
down on the “O”.
NOTE: Before using the paint sprayer on your work piece make
sure you undertake a test spray on a scrap piece of material.
Using the Paint Volume Control Collar
The paint Volume Control Collar is used to increase or
decrease the flow of paint being sprayed from the Paint
Sprayer. For Larger surface spraying, the maximum flow is
recommended. For smaller surface spraying, the minimum flow
is recommended.
Note: Before using the paint sprayer on your work piece
make sure you undertake a test
spray on a scrap piece of material.
1. To increase the paint flow,
turn the Paint Volume Control
dial to the right in a clockwise
direction. (refer Fig G).
2. To decrease the paint flow, turn
the Paint Volume Control dial
in an anti-clockwise direction.
(refer Fig G).
NOTE: It is strongly
recommended to fill the paint pot through a fine
strainer/gauze to filter the paint.
Adjusting the Spray Pattern
Note: Never press the trigger when
making adjustments on the air cap.
There are 3 Spray Patterns to choose from
to suit your painting task:
A. Vertical flat jet for horizontal surfaces.
B. Horizontal flat jet for vertical surfaces.
C. Round jet for corners and edges and
other unaccessible places
Note: The nozzle only has a variance of 90 degrees for
adjusting the spray pattern.
Do not force the nozzle or it will cause damage. Refer Fig H

1. To select your spray pattern, first loosen the Air Cup Nut by
turning it approximately 1 full turn in an anti clockwise direction
or until the nozzle is loose enough to move.
2.
To set the spray pattern to a Horizontal spray pattern, move
the air cap and air cap ears to the position as shown in Fig I.
Once the air cap is in position, hold the air cap in place whilst
re-securing the air cap nut by turning it in a clockwise direction.
Secure until tight.
3. To set the spray pattern to a Vertical spray pattern, move the
air cap and air cap ears to the position as shown in Fig J.
Once the air cap is in position, hold the air cap in place whilst
re-securing the air cap nut by turning it in a clockwise direction.
Secure until tight.
4. To set the spray
pattern to a Round
spray pattern, simply
adjust the angle of
the air cap ears so
they are
flat as shown in Fig K.
Changing the Air Cap ears.
The angle of the air cap ears can
be altered to change the size of the
selected pattern.
Please note the following:
1. Ensure both ears are set on the
same angle. (Ref Fig K.a)
for incorrect setting)
Changing the inner nozzle
IMPORTANT: When replacing the inner nozzle align the small
keyway on the edge of the nozzle with the small slot in the top of
the spray gun.
When fitting the air cap and air cap nut, fit carefully to engage
the nozzle ie the air cap with the nut loose should be able to
move 90 degrees only.
When tightening the air cap nut, do not hold the air cap.
Cleaning and Maintenance
It is recommended to clean the Spray Gun after EVERY use.
If the spray gun is not cleaned properly after each use, the gun
will not perform correctly the next time of use. Failures due
to improper cleaning and maintenance are not covered
under warranty.
1. Turn off the sprayer and make sure it is disconnected from the
mains power supply.
2. Press the spray trigger so that the remaining material in the
spray gun runs back into the container.
3. Unscrew the container in an anti-clockwise direction and
remove the paint pot from the sprayer. Return the remaining
material in the paint pot back into the material can or other
suitable paint storage container.
4. Clean the paint pot and suction tube with a brush and water.
5. After cleaning the paint pot, fill it with solvent or water, and
screw the paint pot back onto the lid on the sprayer in order to
run the water/solvent back through the spray gun to clear any
remaining paint material within the suction tube and spray gun.
Note: Only use solvent with a flash point of over 21°C
6. Plug the sprayer back into the mains power supply, turn on the
sprayer on, and then spray the solvent or water into another
container for disposal.
7.
If the suction tube is not used, some solvent or water will be
deposited outside the container. This is due to the high air volume.
8. Repeat the above procedure until clear solvent or water comes
out of the nozzle.
9. Turn off the sprayer and make sure it is disconnected from the
mains power supply
10. Completely empty the paint pot. Always keep the container
seal free of coating material and check for damage.
11. Clean the outside of the spray gun and container with a cloth
soaked in solvent or water.
12. Unscrew the air cap nut. Remove air cap. Clean the air cap
and nozzle with brush and solvent or water.
Note: Never clean the nozzle or air hole of the spray gun with
sharp metallic objects .
13. Remove and clean the suction tube.
