Important

Before you begin: Open, identify and count all parts prior to assembly. Lay out parts on a flat and non-

abrasive surface. You will need the parts identified on page 3 and 4 of this instruction manual.

NOTE: IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO USE GLUE WITH DOWELS. EXCESS GLUE CAN BE WIPED OFF

WITH DAMP CLOTH.

Insert Dowel at least half way by tapping lightly with a rubber mallet, IF NECESSARY.

CAM LOCK SYSTEM OPERATION

HOW THE KNOCK DOWN (KD) ASSEMBLY SYSTEM WORKS

1. Screw the Cam Bolt into the threaded inserts on the panel. Connect both panels together; making sure Cam

Bolt goes into the pre-drilled hole on the end of panel for Cam Lock.

2. Insert the Cam Lock into the pre-drilled large hole on the panel. Make sure the arrow on the face of Cam

Lock faces out and points towards Cam Bolt.

3. Take a Phillips screwdriver and rotate the Cam Lock clockwise to lock the Cam Bolt in place.

4. Plug the Cam Lock Cover into the cross slot of the Cam Lock to conceal the Cam.

You are now ready to assemble the KD unit.

File Drawer Assembling

1. Unpack the unit and confirm that you have all the hardware and required parts. Assembly the unit on a

carpeted floor or the empty carton to avoid any scratch.

2. Pick up the Ball Bearing Slides (Y) and separate the Slide Runners for the following steps. Extend the

Slide Runner all the way forward. Press the plastic release lever of the ball bearing slides up and pull

the Slide Runner complete out.

3. Attach the separated Slide Runners (Y) to the Drawer Side Panels (R and S) respectively with three 1/2”

Screws (9) per slide runner. Ensure the closed end of Slide Runner against the front edge of drawer side

panel with cam bolt holes.

4. Securely screw four Cam Bolts (2) into the designated small holes on the Drawer Front (P) with a

Phillips screwdriver, as shown.

5. Attach the Drawer Left and Right Side Panels (R and S) to the Drawer Front (P) by engaging four Small

Cam Locks (10) (Refer to page 2 on Cam Lock system operation supplement). Make sure that the

grooves face inward and line up with each other. As shown.

6. Slide the Drawer Bottom Panel (T) into the grooves between the Drawer Side Panels (R and S) until

fully inserted into the Drawer Front (P). Make sure the finished surface will face up. As shown.

7. Fasten the Drawer Back Panel (Q) to the Drawer Side Panels (R and S) using four 1-1/4” Wood Screws

(8). Make sure that Drawer Bottom Panel (T) fits securely into the groove of the Drawer Back Panel (Q).

Tighten all the screws with a Phillips screwdriver.

8. Turn the assembled drawer upright. Fit the File Rail (X) onto each Drawer Side Panel (R and S) with

the high side facing inward. As shown.

9. Attach the Handle (18) to the outside of the Drawer Front (P) using two provided Handle Bolts (17).

10. Insert two Wood Dowels (3) into the large holes on one Slide Support (K). Make sure that you use a

small amount of glue with both ends of all dowels.

NOTE: It is very important to use a small amount of glue on both ends of dowels.

11. Align the inserted Wood Dowels (3) with the drilled holes on the Drawer Housing Left Panel (D) and

press them together. Make sure that the end with pilot hole against the countersunk hole on the Slide

Support is flush with the front edge of the Drawer Housing Left Panel (D). Insert two 1-1/4” Wood

Screws (8) through the countersunk holes of the Slide Support (K) and

securely screw into place.

12. Repeat the same process to assemble the other Slide Support (K) to the Drawer Housing Right Panel (H).

13. Attach the separated Slide Tracks (Y) to the Slide Supports (K) respectively with three 1/2” Screws (9)

per slide track. Ensure the slide opening points towards the front of the unit.

14. Securely screw 4 Cam Bolts (2) into the designated small holes on the Left and Right Lower Side

Panels (D and H) respectively, as shown.

15. Locate Left and Right Top Panels (A and E), Left and Right Front Panels (B and F) and Left and Right

Back Panels (C and G) with the holes facing up. Securely screw the Cam Bolts (2) into the designated

small holes, as shown in the illustration.

16. Locate the Bottom Panels (J), the Bottom Back Stretcher (M) and the Drawer Housing Top Panel (O)

with the holes facing up. Securely screw the Cam Bolts (2) into the designated small holes, as shown in

the illustration.

17. Insert one Wood Dowel (3) into the middle end hole of the Drawer Housing Back Panel (N) and attach

it to the Bottom Back Stretcher (M) by engaging two Cam Locks (1) (Refer to page 2 on Cam Lock

system operation supplement). Make sure that the Cam Locks will face inward.

18. Align and attach the Drawer Housing Left Panel (D) to the last assembly using three Wood Dowels (3)

and three Cam Locks (1). As shown below.

19. Fasten the Bottom Front Stretcher (L) to the Drawer Housing Left Panel (D) using one Wood Dowel (3)

and one Cam Lock (1), as shown below. Ensure the Cam Lock points towards the bottom of the unit.

20. Repeat the same procedure to attach the Drawer Housing Right Panel (H) at the opposite end.

21. Align and attach one Bottom Panel (J) to the bottom of each Drawer Housing Side Panels (D and H)

respectively, using two Wood Dowels (3) and two Cam Locks (1), as shown. Make sure that most of the

Bottom Panel (J) extruded out of the Drawer Housing Side Panel.

22. Insert five Wood Dowels (3) into the inner end holes of the Drawer Housing Panels (D, H and N).

Position the Drawer Housing Top Panel (O) onto the inserted Wood Dowels (3) and press them together.

Fasten the top panel in place by engaging six Cam Locks (1). As shown.

23. Stand the assembled unit upright.

24. Securely screw two Cam Bolts (2) into the designated small holes on the Drawer Housing Top Panel

(O), as shown.

25. Align and attach two Upper Side Panels (I) to the Drawer Housing Top Panel (O) with two Wood

Dowels (3) and two Cam Locks (1), as shown. Ensure the Cam Locks and shelf pin holes face inward.

Assembly Instructions

26. Align and attach the Left and Right Back Panels (C and G) to the back side of last assembly by using

three Wood Dowels (3) and four Cam Locks (1) per back panel, as shown.

27. Fasten the Left and Right Front Panels (B and F) to the front side of last assembly by using two Wood

Dowels (3) and two Cam Locks (1) in each, as shown.

28. Insert six Wood Dowels (3) into the end holes on the top of the assembled unit. DO NOT put dowels

into the Cam Bolt holes. Position the Left and Right Top Panels (A and E) onto the inserted Wood

Dowels (3) and attach in place by engaging the Cam Locks (1).

29. Flip the assembled unit at its back edges. Secure the Bottom Panels (J) in place by engaging 4 Cam

Locks (1) in each, as shown.

30. Gently tap a Floor Protector (13) to the bottom of Front and Back Panels (B, C, F and G) respectively.

Make sure the Floor Protectors rest on the center of panel for avoiding any damage or crack.

31. Stand the unit upright.

32. Align and attach the Metal Brackets (14 and 15) to the upper corners of the assembly unit, using two 15

mm Bolts (4), two Lock Washers (6) and two Flat Washers (7) per metal bracket. As shown.

33. Fasten the Upper Stretchers (W) to the installed Metal Brackets (14 and 15) by inserting the 15 mm

Bolts (4) with the Washers (6 and 7) through the Metal Bracket and screw into place.

NOTE: DO NOT fully-tighten the bolts initially until all the bolts are ready to assemble. To avoid

causing damages to the thread, DO NOT over-tighten the bolts.

34. Position the Glass Top (U) onto the assembled unit so that the threaded sockets underneath the metal

plates overlap the drilled holes on the Top Panels (A and E) simultaneously. Insert four 32 mm Bolts (5)

with the Washers (6 and 7) through the drilled holes on both Top Panels and securely screw into place.

35. Plug Cam Lock Covers (11) and Cam Lock Caps (12) onto the visible Cams Locks to conceal the Cams.

36. Insert four Shelf Pins (16) into the drilled holes on the Upper Side Panels (I) and the Front Panels (B

and F) at your desired height. Make sure you place the Shelf Pins in the same level so the shelf is not

tilted. Tilt and rest the Glass Shelf (V) onto the installed Shelf Pins (16) properly.

37. Extend the Sliding Tracks on the unit all the way forward (including ball bearing cart). Then align the Slide

Runners on the assembled drawer with the Slide Tracks and push the drawer carefully inside until it stops.

NOTE: If the drawer does not go in smoothly, please take it out and repeat the step. If you need to

remove the drawer, please pull the drawer all the way out, then simultaneously push the plastic release

lever of the ball bearing slide up on one side and down on the other side, and then pull it completely out.

38. Position the assembled unit in the desired location against a wall. Now, follow the instructions printed on the

plastic bag containing the Tipping Restraint Hardware to mount the tip-over restraint to the unit and the wall.

NOTE: Young children can be seriously injured by tipping furniture. You must install the Tipping Restraint

Hardware with the unit to prevent any accidents or damage to the unit. The tipping restraint is intended only as a

deterrent, they are not a substitute for proper adult supervision. The tipping restraint is not an earthquake restraint.

If you wish to add the extra security of earthquake restraints, they must be purchased and installed separately.

Tools required: Phillips screwdriver, Power Drill, 3/8” Drill Bit and Rubber Mallet.

Care and Maintenance

 Use a soft, clean cloth that will not scratch the surface when dusting.

 Use of furniture polish is not necessary. Should you choose to use polish, test first in an inconspicuous area.

 Using solvents of any kind on your furniture may damage your furniture’s finish.

 Never use water to clean your furniture as it may cause damage to the finish.

 Always use coasters under beverage glasses and flowerpots.

 Liquid spills should be removed immediately. Using a soft clean cloth, blot the spill gently. Avoid rubbing.

 Always use protective pads under hot dishes and plates. Heat can cause chemical changes that may create

spotting within the furniture finish.

 Stains or marks from crayons or ink markers will be difficult to remove.

 In the event that your furniture is stained or otherwise damaged during use, we recommend that you call a

professional to repair your furniture.

 Check bolts/screws periodically and tighten them if necessary.

Further advice about wood furniture care

It is best to keep your furniture in a climate-controlled environment. Extreme temperature and humidity

changes can cause fading, warping, shrinking and splitting of wood. It is advised to keep furniture away from

direct sunlight as sun may damage the finish.

Proper care and cleaning at home will extend the life of your purchase. Following these important and helpful

tips will enhance your furniture as it ages.

A Touch-up Pen has been provided to repair any small nicks or scratches that may occur during assembly or

shipping.
