YOUR RUSH 3

Rucksack
The bag has been especially designed for the Rush 3. It is light in
weight, comfortable and useful (padded hip belt, ergonomic and ad-
justable shoulder straps). It has a large volume that will allow you to
store all your kit, whilst still being comfortable for hiking.
Brake Lines
The brake line lengths have been set carefully during testing. We feel
it is better to have slightly long brake lines and to fly with a wrap
(one turn of line around the hand). However, if you do choose to ad-
just them, please bear in mind the following:
Ensure both main brake lines are of equal length.•
If a brake handle has been removed, check that its line is still •
routed through the pulley when it is replaced.
When the brake handles are released in flight, the brake lines •
should be slack. There must be a substantial “bow” in them to
guarantee no deformation of the trailing edge.
There must be a minimum of 10cm of free play before the brakes •
begin to deform the trailing edge. This prevents the trailing edge
from being deformed when using the speed system.
IMPORTANT: In the unlikely event of a brake line snapping
in ight, or a handle becoming detached, the glider can be
own by gently pulling the rear risers (C-risers) for direc-
tional control.
Risers
The Rush 3 has been designed with 3 risers. The A riser is covered
with coloured webbing, this allows it to be easily identified.
The A’s are Grey. You will notice that the A’s are split into two risers.
The small riser at the back, holding only one line (outermost A line) is
the ‘Baby A’, it has been designed to make applying big ears simple.
The B’s and C’s are BLACK.
The Rush 3 represents the next generation of high performance sports inter-
mediate XC wings. In the continual pursuit of True Performance, our mission
with the Rush 3 was to absolutely maximise glide ratio and minimum sink rate
performance within the EN/LTF B class. We have achieved this by focusing on
efficiency without sacrificing ease of use, safety or fun.
Specifically designed to have a combination of sporty dynamic handling, great
speed and high levels of safety the Rush 3 is suitable for a wide range of pilots,
from lower airtime recreation flyers to experienced XC hounds. The Rush 3
replaces the Rush 2, but has a lot more in common with our latest generation
performance wings. Overall we have greatly improved the performance of its
predecessor and refined the feel.
The Rush 3 incorporates the revolutionary R10/Delta sail construction meth-
ods. The leading edge plastic reinforcements and optimised tab positioning has
solidified the leading edge making for a more tuck resistant structure. This
promotes confidence and allows you to push harder in turbulent air whilst re-
taining better stability at all angles of attack. Mini ribs at the trailing edge and
an optimised line plan, using new updated materials has resulted in a significant
reduction in parasitic drag. This line drag reduction along with the new con-
struction technique has enabled a significant performance increase and placed
the Rush 3 at the top of its class in terms of glide, speed and ease of use. This
is the mark of True Performance.
The Rush 3 is simple and straight forward on the ground, rising smoothly
without over-flying or dropping back. In the air it is well damped in pitch, cut-
ting through the air effectively and efficiently. In flight the wing acts as a single
block with no unnecessary rearward movements as it always has a tendency
to stay overhead and push forwards. In the climb it is very efficient, with less
height loss in the turn than the Rush 2. It achieves this by keeping its nose
up in the turn whilst retaining stunning agility and that ‘Ozone’ handling which
will satisfy even the most demanding pilot. Brake pressure has been reduced
compared with the Rush 2 and the overall canopy feedback and feel refined.
Developing the Rush 3 has been a real pleasure for us, we have put all of our
passion and know-how into this wing. It directly benefits from the lessons
learnt and the technology used in our competitions wings to deliver a glider
with levels of safety/performance that we only dreamed of a few years ago.
