SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Important: This appliance is not intended for use by persons including children with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliances
by a person responsible for their safety.
• This product is intended for domestic and indoor use only.
• Ensure that the electricity supply in your home is rated at 220 -240 volts before
operating the appliance.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Always unplug the appliance before attempting to move it.
• There are no user serviceable parts inside this appliance. Always contact a
qualified electrician.
• To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons do not immerse cord,
plug, or in water or other liquid
• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before
putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug.
• Do not let cord hang over the edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
• Do not place on or near a hot electric or gas burner of inside a heated oven.
• Place the appliance on a flat surface. Do not place on a heated surface.
• Never insert oversized food, metal foil, or other utensils into the sandwich toaster.
• Do not touch the hot surface. Use only the handle and controls.
• Do not use for anything other than its intended use.
• This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such
as:
– Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
– By clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments and bed
and breakfast type environments.
• This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or
separate remote control system.
Before First Use
Before using your sandwich toaster for the first time grease the cooking plates lightly with a small
amount of oil. Close the sandwich toaster and turn on. Allow to heat for approximately 10 minutes,
this should burn off any residue on the cooking plates and may create a slight smell. Afterwards,
clean the cooking plates with a soft damp cloth and your sandwich toaster is now ready to use.
Operating the Sandwich Toaster
1. Place the sandwich toaster on a stable, flat surface out of the reach of children.
2. Plug the sandwich toaster into the power supply ensuring that the voltage corresponds with
that of your home. The cooking plates will begin to pre-heat and the red indicator light will
be illuminated. Once the cooking plates have reached the preset temperature the blue
indicator light will be illuminated. The sandwich toaster is now ready to use.
3. For best result butter the outside of the bread.
4. Place one slice of bread on the bottom heating plate. Add the filling and place the 2
nd
slice
of bread on top.
5. Close the sandwich toaster slowly and press together. The plates can be held closed using
the clip.
6. Allow 3-4 minutes for the sandwich to cook. Please note cooking times may vary depending
on the type of bread and fillings used.
NOTE: The sandwich toaster can be manually switched off at any time by interrupting the power
supply.
CAUTION: If too much is inserted into the sandwich toaster it cannot be closed properly. Never use
force to close and lock the sandwich toaster.
Never use a knife or fork to remove food from the sandwich toaster as this may scratch the non-stick
surface or the cooking plates. Use heat resistant wood or plastic utensils only.
