This coolant mixture is specifically designed to provide both a cooling medium and electrical protection. It provides a
resistance value of .4 megohm/cm or greater to prevent it from carrying an electrical current. Any water cooled torch that
incorporates a DC current pilot arc could potentially suffer severe internal damage due to electrolysis if the coolant ever
becomes electrically conductive.

Effective July 1, 2004, Thermal Dynamics will offer a new coolant, De-I Cool™ , a de-ionized water coolant specifically
designed for applications where temperatures always exceed +40°F (+4°C). This water mixture can be used with plasma
welding torches, plasma cutting torches, MIG torches, TIG torches and Cooling Recirculators.

• Maximum torch cooling performance where application use is above +40°F (+4.4°C).
• Exceeds the required resistance levels… greater than .4 megohm/cm to prevent electrolysis
in the torch. High conductivity in the coolant often results in difficulties starting the pilot arc or
leads to torch head failures.
• Special corrosion inhibitors have been added to protect the copper and cooling system which
will enhance the time the coolant will remain highly resistive.
All De-I Cool Coolant mixtures are shipped in 2- container packs. Coolant is priced by the gallon -
minimum 2 gal purchase.
Note:
The De-I Cool™ mixture may freeze during shipment depending time of year or shipping
location. This will not impact the performance of the coolant. The coolant must be allowed to reach
+40°F (+4.4°C) before being put into use.
