n Read the instructions entirely. Heed all warnings. Follow the instructions.
n Retain this manual. Whoever will use the unit should have access to this manual.
n This unit is designed to be functional in vehicles with 12 V DC battery and negative ground.
n Do not operate the unit in any other way than described in this manual. Failure to follow
the in-structions as provided may void your warranty.
n Do not disassemble or alter the unit in any way because this will void your warranty. Do not
Attempt to repair or to service the unit yourself, but contact an authorized XZENT dealer instead.
n Use only original accessories which are designed and manufactured for the unit, otherwise you
will risk damage. Install the unit according to the mounting instructions by using the supplied
mounting accessories. Acceleration forces during accidents can be huge. Incorrectly mounted
devices pose a serious risk for the driver and passengers during an accident.
n Protect the unit from water and other liquids that could enter the housing. A short circuit or even
 arecouldresult.
n To prevent a short circuit, never insert any metallic object (such as coins or metal tools) into
the unit.
n Before you replace a defective fuse try to nd the cause for the short circuit. Pay attention
to the cables of the power supply! If the short circuit does not result from a failure of the
power supply or wiring, you can replace the defective fuse with a new one (of identical value).
If the shortcircuit persists, contact an authorized XZENT dealer.
n When connecting to any other device, read the user‘s guide for compatibility and notes on
electrical connections. Do not try to connect incompatible products.
n Be careful not to drain the car battery while using the unit when the car engine is turned off.
Because the unit consumes a considerable amount of energy and the battery will be charged
only while the engine is running, it might happen that the battery will discharge to a point
where it is not possible to start the engine anymore.
n According to the law in different European countries, driving with monitors showing movies
in the viewing range of the driver is not allowed, because the driver might get distracted from
trafc. Please respect the trafc regulations of your country or you may face legal penalties
in case of accidents or even lose your insurance coverage. Pay attention to the playback volume
inside your vehicle since you are required to notice exterior warning sounds like police sirens etc..
n Don‘t expose the unit to hard impacts. A mechanical or electrical malfunction of the unit could
be the result.
n Should any problems or questions occur during the installation, please consult your XZENT
dealer/importer.

1. Radio (FM) Tap to enter default FM tuner.
2. CarPlay Tap to enter CarPlay (when compatible iPhone is connected via front USB).
3. Android Auto Tap to enter GAA (when compatible Android Smartphone with APP is
connected via front USB).
4. DAB+ Tap to enter DAB+ tuner.
5. Phone Tap to enter bluetooth XZENT telephony.
Tap to enter telephony (in case of GAA or CarPlay).
6. USB Tap to enter USB source.
7. AV IN Tap to enter AV source.
8. EQ Tap to enter EQ.
9. BT-Music Tap to enter BT A2DP music streaming.
10. Settings Tap to enter System Settings.

GOOGLE ANDROID AUTO
With Google Android Auto, you are be able to access compatible apps and online services of your
Android smartphone in your car and operate them intuitively with the display of your XZENT device
or the voice assistant from Google.
PREPARATION:
nDownload the Android Auto app from the Google Play Store.
nConnect the Android smartphone with the FRONT USB connector of the XZENT device.
nBluetoothwillbeautomaticallyestablishonFRONTUSBrsttimeconnection.
INITIAL OPERATION:
1. For the initial operation, the vehicle must not be in motion and the hand brake must be put on.
2. Tap to the Android Auto icon in the main menu of the XZENT device to choose the Android Auto source.
3. FollowthedialogueonthedisplayofyoursmartphonetoinstallAndroidAutoandtocongurethe
start behaviour. It is possible to change the selected start behaviour in the setup operations
anytime later.
4. After the initial operation has been completed successfully, the Android Auto user interface
appears on the screen of the XZENT device.

4. Open Android Auto user interface.
5. Media playback.
6. Open XZENT main menu.
7. Activate Android Auto voice control.
Note:
nAndroid Auto may not be available on all devices and is not available in all countries and regions.
nTo use Android Auto with your Android Smartphone, at least Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or a higher
version of the Android operation system must be installed on your smartphone.

With Apple CarPlay, you are be able to access compatible apps and online services of your
iPhone in your car and operate them intuitively with the display of your XZENT device or the voice
assistant from Apple.
PREPARATION:
nConnect the compatible iPhone with the FRONT USB connector of the XZENT device.
nBluetoothwillbeautomaticallyestablishonFRONTUSBrsttimeconnection.
nUnlock your iPhone.
INITIAL OPERATION:
1. For the initial operation, the vehicle must not be in motion and the hand brake must be put on.
2. Tap to the CarPlay icon in the main menu of the XZENT device to choose the CarPlay source.
After the initial operation has been completed successfully, the CarPlay user interface appears on
the screen of the XZENT
1. Tap to display the home screen of CarPlay.
2. Tap to open XZENT main menu.
3. Tap any of the APP icon to start the application.

Language (2a) Press to select a different available language than English.
Lightning (2b) Press to toggle key illumination white, red.
Beep (3c) Press to toggle touch control acoustic feedback On / Off.
3. Video Tap to show list (default values are written in bold letters):
Brightness Mode (3a) tap to select mode day, night, auto.
Brightness (3b) tap bar to change brightness of active day and night mode.
4. Volume Tap to show list (default values are written in bold letters): EQ (4a) tap to open EQ.
Select EQ-preset, Customize EQ-Band, Loudness On / Off. Balance fader settings
with Subwoofer gain.
Radio/DAB/AV In (4b) tap bar to change gain.
USB (4c) tap bar to change gain.
BT Music (4d) tap bar to change gain.
BT phone (4e) tap bar to change gain.
CarPlay (4f) tap bar to change gain.
Android Auto (4g) tap bar to change gain.
5. Time Tap to show list (default values are written in bold letters):
Date (5a) tap to set date.
Time (5b) tap to set time (manual set time may be overwritten if RDS CT is set to on).
24hr (5c) tap to toggle between 12h and 24h display.
6. System Tap to show list:
Factory setting (6a) tap to reset device to factory / default settings.
MCU version (6b) display of current installed version.
MPEG version (6c) display of current installed version.
DAB version (6d) display of current installed version.
MCU update (6e) tap to start update.
MPEG update (6f) tap to start update.

Note:
n This unit features an RDS tuner. RDS is a system which transmits data on top of the FM radio signal.
Availability and content of the RDS data depend on the respective broadcast station and its signal
strength. RDS does, for example, transmit alternative frequencies, which allow for frequency changes
without user interaction.
n You need to have the AF function activated in order to use the RDS functionality and features.

1. Home Tap to open Main Menu.
2. Seek Down Tap to select previous station of all stations (if SELECT settings from MORE
menu is set to ALL SERVICE).
Tap to select previous station of same ensemble / channel (if SELECT settings
from MORE menu is set to CURRENT).
Tap to select previous station of favourite list (if SELECT settings from MORE
menu is set to PRESET).
3. Seek Up Tap to select next station of all stations (if SELECT settings from MORE menu
is set to ALL SERVICE).
Tap to select next station of same ensemble / channel (if SELECT settings
from MORE menu is set to CURRENT).
Tap to select next station of favourite list (if SELECT settings from MORE
menu is set to PRESET).
4. List Tap to open list.
Favorite List (4a) Tap to manage or select favorite / preset stations.
Ensemble folders and station lists (4b) tap to open ensemble and station folder structure.
Current Ensemble (4c) tap to open current ensemble.
5. Auto Scan Tap to start auto scan.
6. More Tap to show extended menu (default values are written in bold letters):
Select (6a) Tap to change skip button behaviour to All Service, current, Preset.

NOTE:
This source is the XZENT HFP telephony you need to connect a paired phone to use it.
If GAA or CarPlay is connected via FRONT USB, all telephony capabilities will be performed via the
GAA or CarPlay and switch to their telephony mode.
Operation Buttons
1. Home Tap to open Main Menu.
2. Favourite Icons Tap “+” to add a favourite to a preset (phonebook must be synchronized).
Tap preset contact to start out call (phone must be connected).
3. Page indicator Swipe screen to change page list:
4. Favourite Tap to return to favourites.
5. Phonebook Tap to open phonebook of active connected / selected phone.
Search (5a) Tap to open contact name search.
6. Call log Tap to open call log.
Received calls (6a) tap to show received calls. Tap list item to perform out call.
Out calls (6b) tap to show out calls. Tap list item to perform out call.
Missed calls (6c) tap to show missed calls. Tap list item to perform out call.

8 Phone Press to disconnect current/active phone.
Management The screen will change to the phone management page which allows to
manually select a different phone from list, delete an existing paired phone,
scan / search and add a new phone or change the BT settings.
