This remote controller connects with the
separately available GZE-1 camera using
Bluetooth® 4.1.
IMPORTANT!
This remote controller has Bluetooth wireless technology communication
functionality built in. Do not use it inside an aircraft or anywhere else where
wireless communication use is restricted or prohibited.

Quick Start Basics
1. Insert a coin into the slot of the battery cover
on the back of the remote controller, and
rotate to the left to remove the cover.
2. Load a battery so its positive side is facing
upwards, so you can see it.
3. Aligning the battery cover mark with [OPEN],
rotate it to the right until the mark reaches the
[LOCK] position.

Pass the belt through the belt attachment slots of the remote controller.
.Belt Precautions
The belt is intended for use with this product only. Do not use it for any other
purpose.
Should you notice any itching, rash, or other skin abnormality in the vicinity of the
belt, immediately stop using it.
Keep the belt away from and do not leave it in areas where it may be exposed to
heat. Heat can cause deterioration of the belt material.
Long-term contact with other items or leaving a wet belt together with other items
can cause transfer of color from the belt to the other items, or from the other items
to the belt.
If the belt becomes dirty, carefully hand wash it with tap water.
Do not swing the remote controller around by the belt.
Store the belt out of the reach of small children.
To connect the remote controller with a camera for the first time, you need to perform
the procedure below to register it.
IMPORTANT!
The remote controller can be registered on only one camera at a time.
If you register an already registered remote controller on a different camera, it will
be unregistered from the current camera and then registered on the new camera.
1. Check to make sure that both the remote controller and the camera are
turned off.
2. On the camera, hold down the [r/SLOW] button and the [POWER]
button for at least six seconds.
This will cause the [STATUS] lamp to flash amber.
3. On the remote controller, hold down the [r/SLOW] button and the [p]
button for at least six seconds.
This will cause the operation lamp to flash amber to indicate that remote
controller registration has started.
After registration is complete, the remote controller and camera will connect, and
the operation lamp will flash green.

.To turn on power
Hold down the [p] button until the operation lamp lights.
The operation lamp will light in a color that indicates the current battery level, and
then change to flashing green.
Turning on the camera will cause it to connect with the remote controller, and the
operation lamp will slowly flash green.
.To turn off power
Hold down the [p] button until the operation lamp goes off.
NOTE
Turning off the camera will cause the remote controller to turn off automatically.
Turning off the remote controller does not turn off the camera.
The current remote controller battery level can be determined by observing the
operation lamp color immediately after you turn on the remote controller. If the
operation lamp lights red, replace the battery.

Operating the Camera with the Remote Controller
The operations below can be performed on a remote controller that is connected with
a camera.
NOTE
The remote controller’s operation lamp will slowly flash green while it is connected
with a camera. The operation lamp will flash faster if there is no connection with the
camera.
If you press a remote controller button while the remote controller is unable to
control the camera because of a poor connection, the remote controller will vibrate
to let you know.
.To record a movie
Press [0] to start recording. Press [0] again to stop
recording.
.Shooting Snapshots
Press [r/SLOW].
.Changing the Recording Mode to Dramatic Slow Motion
When the current camera recording mode is Auto, hold down the [0] button for about
two seconds to change it to Dramatic Slow Motion. To return to the Auto mode, hold
down the [0] button for about two seconds again.
While the recording mode is Dramatic Slow Motion, the operation lamp will flash
amber.
IMPORTANT!
The camera’s recording mode can be changed from Auto to Dramatic Slow Motion
by the remote controller when only the remote controller is connected with the
camera. It cannot be switched by the remote controller while another device
(controller with LCD, smartphone) is also connected. For information about
operation while the camera is connected with a smartphone or a controller with
LCD, refer to the G’z EYE app or controller with LCD user documentation.

.Shooting with Dramatic Slow Motion
Press [0] to start movie recording. At the point where you want to switch to slow
motion recording, press the [r/SLOW] button. Normal speed recording will resume
after a fixed period of slow motion recording. Press [0] again to stop recording.
NOTE
You can specify the slow motion recording start point and duration using the G’z
EYE app or the optional controller with LCD.
The operation lamp shows the current remote controller and camera status.
The remote controller will vibrate in the cases described below.

*DANGER
.Button Type and Coin Type Battery Precautions
Coin batteries present a risk of accidentally being swallowed by small
children. Always keep coin batteries out of the reach of small children.
Should a battery be swallowed accidentally or if there is a possibility that
a battery has been swallowed, contact a physician immediately. Swallowing a
battery can result in chemical burns, mucosal tissue penetration, and other
serious problems that create the risk of death.

.Smoke, abnormal odor, overheating, and other abnormalities
Continued use of this product while it is emitting smoke or strange odor,
overheating, or exhibiting any other abnormality creates the risk of fire
and electric shock. Immediately perform the steps below whenever any
of the above symptoms are present.
Turn off power. If power does not turn off, contact your retailer or nearest CASIO
authorized service center.
.Keep Away From Fire
Do not throw the product into fire. Doing so creates the risk of fire and
personal injury.
.Small Parts
This product includes small parts. Such parts create the risk of accidental
swallowing and suffocation.
.Water and Foreign Matter
Water, other liquids, or foreign matter (metal, etc.) getting inside the
product creates the risk of fire and electric shock. Immediately perform
the steps below whenever any of the above items get inside the product.
Particular care is required when using the product while it is raining or snowing,
near the ocean or other body of water, or in a bathroom.
Turn off power. If power does not turn off, contact your retailer or nearest CASIO
authorized service center.
.Disassembly and Modification
Do not try to take the product apart or modify it in any way. Doing so
creates the risk of electric shock, burn injury, and other personal injury.
For any internal inspection, adjustment, or repair, contact your original
retailer or a CASIO service center.
.Do not drop the product or subject it to strong impact.
Continued use of the product after it is damaged by dropping or other
rough treatment creates the risk of fire and electric shock. Immediately
perform the steps below whenever the product is damaged.
Turn off power. If power does not turn off, contact your retailer or nearest CASIO
authorized service center.
.Interference with other digital devices
Should you notice radio interference or other problems on other devices
while using this product, turn off this product. Use of wireless functions
creates the risk of radio interference and abnormal operation of other
devices.
When in a medical facility or aircraft, comply with instructions of
personnel in charge. Electromagnetic waves and other signals emitted
by this product may affect measuring instruments and create the risk of
accident.

Do not use this product in the vicinity of high-precision electronic
equipment or any electronic equipment that handles weak signals.
Doing so can interfere with proper operation of such digital devices and
create the risk of accident.
Keep this product away from the chest area of any individual fitted with a
cardiac pacemaker or similar medical device. Magnetism emitted by the
product may affect cardiac pacemakers and other medical devices.
Should you ever notice any abnormality, immediately move the product away
from the person being affected and contact a physician.
On a crowded train or any other crowded location where there is the
possibility of being in the vicinity of a person wearing a cardiac
pacemaker, turn off the product. Radio waves emitted by this product
may affect pacemaker operation.
.Do not operate this product while driving or riding.
Do not operate this product while riding a bicycle, or while operating an
automobile or other vehicle. Doing so creates the risk of accident.

.Battery Precautions
Carefully note and follow the precautions below. Failure to do so can cause
battery rupturing, creating the risk of fire, personal injury, and soiling of nearby
objects by leaking fluid.
Do not try to take a battery apart and do not allow a battery to become
shorted.
Do not try to charge the battery.
Do not expose batteries to heat or fire.
Use only batteries of the specified type.
Load a battery with its poles (plus and minus) facing correctly.
Perform battery replacement as soon as possible when needed.
.Locations to be Avoided
Do not leave the product in any of the locations below. Doing so creates
the risk of fire and electric shock.
Areas subject to large amounts of humidity or dust.
Food preparation areas, near a humidifier, or in areas where the product is
exposed to oil smoke or water vapor.
Near heaters, on a heated carpet, in areas exposed to direct sunlight, in a
closed vehicle parked in the sun, or other areas subject to very high
temperatures.

This product is designed to be shock resistant, splashproof, and dustproof as
described below.
0Shock resistant:
Passes testing based on CASIO independent standards*1 formulated according to
MIL-Standard 810G Method 516.7-Shock.*2
*1 Drop testing from a height of 4.0 meters (13.12 feet) onto plywood (lauan),
10 directions (6 faces, 4 corners)
*2 Very strong impact due to very rough handling such as throwing the product or
dropping it from excessive heights can cause it to break. Even if a drop does
not result in functional problems, it can cause scratching and other cosmetic
damage.
0Splashproof:
Splashproof equivalent to IEC/JIS Class 8 (IPX8) and Class 6 (IPX6). Water
resistance at a depth of 50 meters (164.04 feet).*3 Protection against direct jet
spray from all directions.*4
*3 Bluetooth® waves do not penetrate water, so this product does not work when
submerged. Test conditions defined by CASIO.
*4 Water resistance performance is not guaranteed during use while engaging in
all types of water sports.
0Dustproof:
Corresponds to IEC/JIS Protection Class 6 (IP6X) dustproofing.
IMPORTANT!
The shock resistance, splashproofing, and dustproofing of this product are based
on CASIO test results, and do not constitute any guarantee that the product will
perform, will not be damaged, or will not malfunction under such conditions.
.Precautions before Use Near Water
The functions of this product do not work underwater.
Do not open or close the battery cover while near water or in an area exposed to
sea breezes. Also avoid opening or closing the battery cover while your hands are
wet, or have sand or any other foreign matter on them. Doing so can lead to water
getting inside, and malfunction.
Check the contact surfaces of the battery cover gaskets for dirt, sand, and any
other foreign matter. Clean contact surfaces by wiping them with a soft, clean, dry
cloth. Note that a single strand of hair or a single grain of sand can allow water to
get into the product.
Check the battery cover splashproofing gaskets are free of cracks, scratches, and
other damage.
Close the battery cover securely into place.
This product will sink if dropped underwater. Use the belt to avoid dropping.
The splashproofing of this product protects it against salt water and fresh water
only. Protection is not provided against hot spring water.

Do not leave the product for long periods in a location subjected to very low
temperatures (where water freezes) or very high temperatures. In particular, avoid
leaving the product in areas exposed to strong direct sunlight, in a motor vehicle on
a hot day, etc. Any of these conditions can result in a deterioration of
splashproofing.
.Precautions after Use Near Water
Before opening the battery cover, use a clean, dry, soft cloth to wipe all moisture
and dirt from the product.
When you open the battery cover, there may be water droplets on its inside
surface. If there are water droplets, be sure to wipe them off. Remaining water
droplets create the risk of water getting inside, and malfunction.
.Cleaning after Use
After the product becomes wet with saltwater or fresh water, make sure the battery
cover is securely closed and then wash the product using the steps below.
1. Immerse the product in fresh water.
Fill a bucket or other container with tap water or other fresh
water, and immerse the product for about 10 minutes.
Gently wipe dust, dirt, sand, and other matter from the
product with your fingers.
2. Wipe off all moisture.
Use a clean, dry, soft cloth to wipe all moisture from the product. After you
finish wiping the water from the product, leave it in a well-ventilated location in
the shade to dry thoroughly. Opening the battery cover while there are water
droplets present creates the risk of water getting inside, and malfunction.
IMPORTANT!
The temperature of the water used to wash the product should be no greater than
30°C (86°F). Never use detergent, hot water, or strongly running water to clean the
product. Doing so creates the risk of leaking and malfunction.
Never swing the product around to remove water, and never use a dryer or other
intense heat to dry it.
Never place the product in a washing machine to wash it.

.Precautions after Use
Do not leave the product for long periods in a location subjected to very low
temperatures (where water freezes) or very high temperatures. In particular, avoid
leaving the product in areas exposed to strong direct sunlight, in a motor vehicle on
a hot day, etc. Doing so can cause loss of splashproofing.
Never use chemical agents for the purpose of cleaning, rust proofing, moisture
proofing, etc. Doing so can cause loss of splashproofing.
If the product becomes wet with seawater or river water, use the procedure under
“Cleaning after Use” to wash it off. Do not allow the product to remain wet for longer
than one hour. Doing so can cause deterioration of the exterior finish and water
resistance properties.
In order to maintain splashproofing, replacement of the product gaskets is
recommended once each year. Note that you will be charged for gasket
replacement. Contact a CASIO authorized service center or your original retailer
for gasket replacement.
.Other Precautions
Subjecting the product to extreme impact can cause loss of water resistance.
Moisture on the product can freeze in very cold environments. Ice left on the
product can lead to malfunction. Do not allow moisture to remain on the product
under cold conditions.
Should water ever leak into the product and cause malfunction due to improper
use, CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. will not be held liable for any damage to
internal components.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. shall not be held liable for any accident that may
occur while this product is being used underwater.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. shall not be held liable for any damages or for any
accident (personal injury, etc.) that occurs while using the product.

.Communication Environment
This product can be connected with the camera using Bluetooth wireless technology.
This product may not connect with the camera if it is enclosed within your hand or by
a cover.
.Operating Environment
Operating Temperature: 10 to 40°C (14 to 104°F)
Operating Humidity: 10 to 85% (Non condensation)
Do not leave the product in any of the locations below.
In an area exposed to direct sunlight, moisture, dust, or large amounts of sand
Near an air conditioner or in other areas subjected to extreme temperature or
humidity
Inside of a motor vehicle on a hot day, or in an area subjected to strong vibration
.Condensation
Sudden and extreme temperature changes, such as when the product is moved
from the outdoors on a cold winter day into a warm room, can cause water droplets
(condensation) to form on the inside and the outside of the product. Do not open or
close the battery cover when in an area where condensation is present.
.User Maintenance
To clean this product, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.
.About this product
Do not step on or throw this product, or otherwise subject it to rough treatment.
If you are unable to register a camera or if button operations are not performed
correctly, remove and then reload the battery.
.Discarding or Transferring Ownership of the Product
Referring to “Battery Loading Procedure”, remove the battery. Then discard the
product.
Keep the battery away from metal objects. Failure to do so creates the risk of
battery overheating, rupture, and fire. Before disposing of a battery, insulate its
plus (+) and minus (–) poles by covering them with cellophane tape or some other
type of tape.
For details about the proper methods for disposing of this product and batteries,
check with the local authorities where you live.
.Precautions During Wireless Function (Bluetooth Wireless
Technology) Use
Operation of this product may affect or may be affected by nearby devices that use
wireless functionality.
This product is subject to the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) of the
United States, and so it cannot be exported to or brought into countries that fall
under U.S. Embargoes and Other Special Controls.

Radio transmission interception
The radio waves that are used to send and receive data can be intercepted by third
parties.
Unauthorized access
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. shall be held in no way liable for any unauthorized
access and/or use of the access point equipped on this product if the product is ever
lost or stolen.
Use as a wireless device
Use the wireless function of this product only as specifically described in this manual.
Any other use is unintended use, and CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. shall be held in
no way liable for any damages arising out of unintended use.
Magnetism, electrostatic charge, and radio interference
Do not use this product near a microwave oven or any other area where magnetism,
electrostatic charge, or radio interference is generated. Radio wave reception may be
poor in certain environments.
Also note that other devices using the same 2.4GHz band used by this product may
cause reduced processing speeds in both devices.
Intended areas of use
This product is intended for use in countries or areas listed at the website linked
below.

manual, your product may not comply with radio laws and other laws in your area or

.Other Precautions
This product becomes slightly warm during use. This is normal and does not
indicate malfunction.
The maximum allowable range (distance between the camera and remote
controller) when shooting with the remote controller is around 8 meters (26.2').
