Introduction
Dear Customer
These Operating Instructions are intended to allow you
to familiarise yourself with the implement and provide
you with clear information on safe and correct handling,
care and maintenance. Thus please take the time to read
these Instructions.
These Operating Instructions comprise part of the imple-
ment. They are to be kept at a suitable location and acces-
sible to staff over the entire service life of the implement.
Instructions based on the national provisions regarding
protection against accidents, road traffic and environmental
protection are also to be applied additionally.
Any persons commissioned with the operation, maintenance
or transport of the implement must read and understand
these Instructions, in particular the safety information, prior
to starting work. Any warranty claims lapse on non-obser-
vance of these Instructions.
In case you have questions related to this operation manual
or further questions about this implement, please contact
your dealer.
Care and maintenance performed in good time and scru-
pulously according to the maintenance intervals specified
ensure operational and traffic safety as well as the reliability
of the implement.
Use only the original spare parts and accessories from
ttinger or accepted by Pöttinger. For those parts relia-
bility, safety and suitability for Pöttinger machines can be
assured. Warranty claims lapse if non-approved parts are
used. The use of original parts is also recommended after
the warranty period has expired to maintain the performance
of the implement in the long term.
Product liability legislation obliges the manufacturer and
the authorised dealer to issue Instructions when selling
implements and to instruct customers in the use with refer-
ence to the safety, operating and maintenance regulations.
Confirmation in the form of a declaration of transfer is
required to verify that the implement and Instructions have
been transferred correctly. The declaration of transfer was
attached to the implement on delivery.
Every self-employed person and farmer is an entrepreneur
within the meaning of the product liability legislation. In
accordance with the laws of product liability, entrepre-
neurial property damages are excluded from the liability.
All damage to property within the meaning of the product
liability legislation is regarded as damage caused by the
implement but not to the implement.
These Operating Instructions are integral part of the imple-
ment delivery scope. You should therefore hand them over to
the new owner if ownership of the implement is transferred.
Train and instruct the new owner in the regulations stated.

Preparing the tractor
Wheels
- The tractor's rear tyre pressure should be 0.8 bar when
in operation.
- Additional wheel weights may be advantageous under
difficult conditions. See the tractor manufacturer's
operating manual also.
Ballast weights
Ensure there is sufficient ballast on the front of the
tractor to guarantee braking and steering abilities.

Lifting gear
- The lifting struts (4) must be the same length left and
right.
Adjust using adjuster (3).
- If the lifting struts (4) can be pinned in different positions
on the lower links, then the rear position (H) is to be
selected. In so doing the tractor’s hydraulics will not be
so heavily loaded.
- Pin the upper link (1) according to the tractor
manufacturer's instructions.
Adjustment for transport
- Fix the lower links with the struts (5) so that the attached
implement cannot swing out during transport.
- The operating lever for the hydraulic system must be
locked against lowering.
Hydraulic control on the lifting gear
Control position:
For mounting and dismounting the implement and for
transportation.
Position control is the normal setting of the lifting gear
hydraulics.
The mounted implement remains at the height (=
position) set by the servo-valve (ST).
Preparing the implement
Mounting arbor
Select the connector size (Category II or III) on the
tractor's lifting gear which corresponds to the mounting
arbor on the implement. See Spare Parts List also.
Headstock setting for NOVA variant
Tilt the headstock slightly forward for the NOVA variant.

- Move servo-valve (ST) to RAISE” position until transport
safeguard is disengaged and safety device is released.

* The hollow discs are initially set at the desired working
depth.

out to the side.

Rapid blade replacement
1. Insert change key (1).
2. Press the locking button (2).
3. Loosen shear with hammer (3).
4. Fit new shear.
Feeler wheel (optional equipment)
Height setting:
1. Turn crank handle (1) 180° upwards. The handle is now
facing upwards.
2. Turn crank handle (1) until the required working depth
is reached.
3. Bring crank handle (1) back in resting position.

TIP
For orientation purposes, a working depth scale (2) is fitted
on the feeler wheel suspension bracket. This scale is to
be taken as an approximate reference value.
Feeler wheel for version T
Height setting:
1. Remove ratchet safety splint (2).
2. Set the threaded arm rotation of direction using the
lever (3) (2 positions, "down" and "up").
3. By pumping the ratchet (1), set the required working
depth.
4. Bring ratchet back to resting position and secure it with
splint (1).

For orientation purposes, a working depth scale (4) is
fitted underneath the ratchet. This scale is to be taken
as an approximate reference value.

The lifting gear control takes place via a double-acting
control unit.

Empty the seed drill seed box before trans-
porting it on public roads.
1. Lift machine using the control unit (white cylinders)
2. Lift Vitasem over the chassis using the control unit
(red cylinders[3]).
(The cylinders' master-slave connection ensures that
lifting takes place smoothly and almost parallel to
the ground.
3. Close the stop cocks on the drawbar.

The upper stopcock locks the white cylinders of the

Push the blade rail inwards on both sides by one
hole position to avoid exceeding the legal transport
width.
5. Adjust the tractor's lower link so that the two axles
of the tyre packer roller are equally loaded when
braking.
Reference value: ~700 mm (ground to centre pin)

1. Open upper stopcock.
The upper stop cock locks the lifting function of the
disc harrow.
2. Pull the cord to switch to side discs folding
3. Lower side discs using the control unit.
4. Open lower stopcock.
The lower stop cock locks the lifting function of the
seed drill.
5. Select required working depth.
6. Align the device by means of lifting gear and the

5. Uncoupling the seed drill (solo run with the
implement)
1. Lift the seed drill using the control unit
2. Close the upper seed drill stopcock
3. Reset working depth on both sides to 0
4. Place rear parking supports underneath on both
sides and secure
5. Lower the seed drill using the control unit and place
it gently on the rear parking supports.
6. Remove upper link (1) between seed drill and Multiline
chassis

7. Disconnect all cables and lines between the seed
drill and the soil-tilling machine.
8. Lift the soil-tilling machine so that the front supports
can be pushed in.
9. Position and secure the front parking supports on
both sides.
10. Open and lock the connecting bracket (2) between
seed drill and disc harrow on both sides. The
connection brackets are located on the outer side
of the machine.

11. Completely lower the chassis using the control unit.
12. Drive out with the harrow disc below the seed drill.
6. Attaching the seed drill in logical reverse order
Height adjustment of blade rail
The blade rail serves to level the soil between the tyres
of the tyre packer.
The lower the blades are set, the more pressure is applied
to the blade rail.
Locking the blade rail:
In difficult operating conditions (heavy soil, wet) it is also
possible to drive without the blade rail.
1. Lift the blade rail out
2. Close the pictured hydraulic stopcock (11) to lock the
blade rail in the raised position. The hydraulic stopcock
is located on the multi-line chassis, in the direction of
travel, to the left of the tyre packer roller.

Lifting the implement
The unit can be hoisted by a lifting jack, from point (1) only,
as illustrated. This point is located on the trailer on the left
side and the right side of the implement.

Uncoupling from tractor
DANGER
Life-threatening danger exists through unpredictable
tractor or machine movements
Park the machine only on fi rm, level ground.
Secure the tractor against unintentional
rolling.
Turn the engine off.
Remove the key.
Secure the machine against tipping using
supports (1).
1. Secure the machine with chocks.
2. Extend the support stand (5) and position it with pins
(6)
3. Disconnect hydraulic lines and electric cables
4. Uncouple machine from the tractor hydraulics
5. Attach the anti-theft device (7) on the left and right of
the drawbar.

Attaching to tractor
WARNING
Risk of serious injury through crushing when coupling
the machine to the lower linkage.
When coupling to the lower linkage, take
particular care not to become wedged or
caught in between.
1. Fix tractor lower linkage
centrally. Fix hydraulic lower
link (U) so that the machine cannot swing to the side.
2. Switch tractor hydraulics to position control
3. Attach machine to the lower link
4. Secure coupling pin (1) correctly

Harrow bar (only for mounted machines)
1. Integrated reversing protection:
If a harrow is caught in the ground when reversing, the
whole harrow bar can turn to the direction of travel, thanks
to the bearing around the pin (1). This prevents harrow
from breaking off.
2. Harrow wear:
The integrated reversing protection has a further storage
position (2). Insert the pin in position (2) when the harrow
can no longer touch the ground in position (1).

TIP
Always insert both pins, left and right on the harrow bar,
in the same position.
3. Lateral movement:
Each harrow can be individually moved laterally on the
beam.
Loosen both screws (3) on the required harrow and slide
it sideways.
4. Fitting additional harrows or removing single
harrows:
Fit or remove harrows using the the screws (3).
