Sanyo VWM-900 is a video cassette recorder that enables users to play, pause, rewind, fast forward, and eject video cassettes. It also has an auto clock set feature, which will automatically set the time and date for timer recording. Additionally, the Sanyo VWM-900 has a variety of other features, including the ability to:

  • Connect to a TV using either an RF coaxial cable or an audio/video cable, allowing for direct audio/video connections for better picture and sound quality during tape playback.

Welcome to SANYO,
Thank you for choosing a SANYO VCR. This Quick Setup Guide will enable
you to easily install and use your new VCR. For more detailed information,
please refer to the instruction manual.
INSTALLATION - It is important that the steps are carried out in the order shown.

Press MENU, and press

or
VV
to select the TUNING
menu, then press ENTER.
2 When the TV is connected to
RF OUT (VHF/UHF/CATV)
using only RF coaxial cable
(supplied)
While the VCR is turned off,
press and hold CHANNEL (
VV//vv
)
on the front panel for more than
five seconds (Indicators blinks as
below). Use CHANNEL (
VV//vv
) on
the front panel to change the RF
output channel (CH 03 or CH
04).
• Select the same channel on
the TV.
3 When using the Audio/Video
cable (not supplied)
Set your TV to the VIDEO mode
using the TV/VIDEO button on
your TV.
Direct audio/video connections
usually result in a better picture
and sound quality for tape
playback.
Connect the TV antenna cable (not
supplied) to the ANT.IN connector
on the back of the VCR.
Connect the supplied RF coaxial
cable from the RF OUT
(VHF/UHF/CATV) connector on the
VCR to the TV’s antenna input con-
nector.
If your TV has audio/video input
jacks, connect the VCR and TV
using the audio and video cable
(not supplied). (If your TV does not
have A/V input jacks, just connect
and .)
Connect the AC power cord only to
an AC 120V, 60Hz outlet.

Press

to choose the
SOURCE SELECT item, then
press
bb
or
BB
to select
TUNER.

to choose the AUTO CHANNEL
SET item, then press

to set the channel.
The tuner will automatically cycle through all
available channels in the area and place them in
the tuner’s memory.

After the AUTO CHANNEL SET
PROCEEDING is complete, set
the TUNING BAND (TV or
CATV) on the TUNING menu.
Remember, TV is for the air anten-
na reception, CATV is for cable or
wireless cable connection.
Use CH/TRACK (
vv
/
VV
) or CHAN-
NEL (
VV//vv
) on the front panel to
cycle the VCR through the chan-
nels in memory.

in this case.

to select the CLOCK menu,
then press ENTER.
SETTING THE CLOCK: You must set the date and time for timer recording.
PLAYING A TAPE
PREPARATION
1 Turn on the power
of both the VCR
and TV.
2 Be sure the TV is
set to the VCR
Output Channel
(CH 3 or 4).
3 If a direct VIDEO/
AUDIO connection
is made between
the VCR and the
TV, set the TV’s
source selector to
VIDEO.
1 Insert a prere-
corded video
cassette.
2 Press PLAY to
play back the
tape.
To make
a picture still
To search at
high speed
To play back at
slow speed
To fast-forward or
rewind the tape
To eject the
cassette
Press PAUSE
during playback.
To play frame-by-
frame, press PAUSE
repeatedly during
still.
If a tape without a
safety tab is inserted
the unit will start the
playback automati-
cally.
NOTE
Press FF or REW
during playback.
Press SLOW
during playback.
Press FF or REW
during stop.
To return to the
playback mode,
press PLAY.
To return to the
playback mode,
press PLAY.
To return to the
playback mode,
press PLAY.

TV SCREEN
2 Set the “AUTO CLOCK SET”
item to “ON” and set the
“DAYLIGHT SAVINGS” and
“TIME ZONE” if necessary.
There are cases that TV station
does not send or send wrong
date and/or time information
and VCR set the incorrect time
accordingly.
In this case we recommend that
you set the clock manually.
NOTE
You can view the clock on the TV screen.
Normally this screen is not displayed. If
you want to display this screen, press
ENTER. (Please refer to page 6.)
3 Press MENU and turn off the
VCR.
The auto clock setting will starts.
