PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
1. Packaging
The packaging material is entirely recyclable, as
confirmed by the recycling symbol .
2. Electrical household appliances
The appliances are built from recyclable materials.
Respect local bylaws when disposing of unwanted
electrical household appliances. Before disposing of
appliances, cut the power supply cables so that they
cannot be reconnected.
Declaration of conformity
These appliances are designed to come into contact with
foodstuffs and they are constructed in compliance with
Directive 89/109/EEC
•
The appliances are designed solely for use as cooking
appliances. Any other use of the appliances (e.g. for
room heating) is considered as improper use and is
potentially dangerous.

The appliances are designed, built and sold in
compliance with:

The safety requirements of Low Voltage Directive
73/23/EEC,
•
The protection requirements of EMC Directive
89/336/EEC,
•
The requirements of Directive 93/68/EEC.

PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL ADVICE
•
Before doing any maintenance work on the appliance,
disconnect it from the electrical power supply.
•
Keep children away from the cooking hob when it is
in use and when it has just been switched off.
•
The appliance must only be repaired or adjusted by a
qualified technician.
•
Make sure that the wires of other electrical appliances
near the cooking hob do not come into contact with its
surrounding hot surfaces.
• Do not switch on the hot plates unless covered with
a cooking utensil.
•
Do not allow liquids to boil over: On boiling, reduce
the heat.
•
Do not use the hob as a work surface or a support.
•
Do not leave the hob unattended when frying as this
can increase the risk of fire.
ENERGY SAVING TIPS
•
Use flat bottomed pots and pans whose base is the
same size as or slightly larger than that of the
hotplate.
•
If possible, keep pots covered when cooking.
•
Cook vegetables, potatoes, etc. with little water in
order to reduce the cooking time.
•
Using a pressure cooker saves further cooking time
and reduces energy consumption.
CARE AND CLEANING
•
Always disconnect the cooking hob from the mains
before cleaning and maintenance.
•
Clean enamelled and/or stainless steel parts with a
suitable cleaning product.
•
Do not use abrasive or corrosive materials. Do not use
chlorine based cleaning products.
•
Do not leave acid or alkaline substances, such as
vinegar, salt or lemon juice, etc., on the work
surfaces.
•
Clean the hot plates with a damp cloth and
occasionally rub cooking oil well into them with a soft
cloth.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
The cooking hob does not work.
Check that:
•
The switch is in the ON position.
•
Check for a power failure.
