GETTING STARTED
CHARGING THE DEVICE
To start the device, follow the steps below:
1. You may leave the camera’s on/off switch in either state (On or Off).
2. Plug into a powered laptop or desktop through the USB port (not a USB Hub) and let the camera
sit to charge for 5 hours to fully charge the device.
3. If you have a 500-1000mAh USB wall plug (think of your cellular phone) handy, you can rapid
charge your camera system in 2-3 hours. Alternatively you can leave it overnight to fully charge
and disconnect when convenient or ready to use.
INSERTING A MEMORY CARD
This camera system was designed to allow for future expansion, for this reason memory is not built-in. The
expansion slot has a spring feeling when you insert a memory card (MicroSD or MicroSDHC 2GB 32GB in
size and Class 2 / 4 is recommended) into the card slot. It's a spring loaded slot which requires the
memory card to be pushed until it locks into place. Make sure that the memory card is inserted correctly;
check the screen shot above under Hardware parts (page 3). To remove the card, reverse the process and
push the card further in and it will eject itself. (Careful it can shoot out quickly)
TO RECORD A VIDEO
1. Insert a memory card (MicroSD or MicroSDHC) into the card slot.
2. Slide the On/Off switch to ON position. (It will not power up yet)
3. Slide the Video/Photo switch to Video.
4. Press (evenly with extra thumb pressure) the center boot/record/stop button and hold it for 3
seconds (it will BOOT and lights will illuminate). Wait for an additional 5 seconds to ensure it has
completely booted.
5. Now again press the boot/record/stop button once. The light to the right will start to blink (if it
does not, further troubleshooting needs to be done to ensure that the memory card is installed
correctly, has been formatted, and is the correct size/type/class).
6. To stop recording the video, press the boot/record/stop button one time and the light will stop
blinking and go into standby mode.
7. Now to properly power you camera down to avoid losing valuable video footage, press the
boot/record/stop for 3 seconds (as you did when you booted), two light will illuminate, then let go,
and it powers down gracefully.
8. To avoid losing your recently configured date/time setting, keep the units On/Off switch in the ON
position so the battery can help the chipset retain the memory. It will draw a very tiny amount of
power.
9. If you do not mind reconfiguring your time/date settings and you want optimum battery power
savings then which your device Off.
10. Done.

TO PLAYBACK VIDEO
Turn the camera off and remove the memory card. Use your computer's media/memory card reader to
read the video/photo files in your memory card. If your computer does not come with one you can use any
simple USB MicroSD memory card reader.
TIME AND DATE WATERMARK
To watermark the date and time on your every video and photo, follow the steps below:
1. After your first recording the camera unit will have created a time.txt in the root of your memory
card. This file will have the follow formatted date/time:
2014-12-25 15:11:22
YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS (Note: Time is in military format)
2. Adjust the date and time accordingly. Then, save the as the same name file name time.txt” in
the same folder location you found it on your memory card.

3. Follow the video or photo procedures above to take a video or photo all videos and photos going
forward will have the updated time and date watermarked on them.
4. Keep in mind, two very important points. To retain the Date/Time you need to keep the unit’s
power switch On. Additionally each time you check the video or photo footage you will need to
DELETE the newly created time.txt file (this file has the old default time) to avoid overwriting the
internally saved Date/Time file of your camera device.
Screen Shots:
Below are the screen shots on how to save the time stamp file to the main directory or root
directory of your memory card. Please review the screen shots to be familiar with the process.
