USE
Please read the safety instructions at
the end of this section before using
the unit.
When you use the unit for the rst
time, you may notice a little steam and
a particular odour: this is common
and will disappear the next time you
use the unit.
Plug the i curl in and press the I
button.
Select the desired temperature
using the temperature selector.
It is generally recommended that
you use a low temperature for ne,
bleached or sensitised hair, and a
high temperature for curly, thick and/
or dicult to style hair. Every hair
type being dierent, we recommend
that you use the position the rst
time you use the unit. Gradually
increase the temperature over the
next few uses if necessary. Use the
table below for reference.
The rst two temperatures are ideal
for curling hair, 230°C is intended for
straightening only.

The red LED will ash until it has
reached the desired temperature, it
will then remain lit while the unit is
in use.
Note! When you use the unit, you
may hear some sizzling and notice a
little steam. This is normal and may
result from the evaporation of sebum,
residual hair products (leave-in care,
hair spray, etc.) or from excess water
that is evaporating from your hair.
Curling your hair
Dry your washed hair using a hair
dryer and untangle using a wide
tooth comb.
Divide your hair into sections about
3 cm wide.
Select the (150°C) temperature if
you wish to create soft curls. If you
wish to create tight curls, set the
unit to the • • (180°C) temperature.
Create natural curls, turned under
Take up a section of hair and place
the BaByliss i curl at the roots with
the curved plates facing the scalp.
(1)
Turn the i curl 90° downwards
so that the curved plates face
outwards. (2)
You can hold the stay-cool tip with
your other hand so that it is easier
to handle the i curl and maintain an
even pressure on the section. (3)
Slowly slide the i curl down the
whole length of the section, from
the roots to the tips. (4) + (5)
Note, the more even and the slower
the stroke, the more marked the curl!
The curved plates release a cool shot
that will set the curl.
Remove the i curl and use your
ngers to twist the section again so
that it takes its natural position. (6)
• Repeat if necessary.
You may wish to set the curls using
a light misting of hairspray.

To straighten your hair
For straightening only, the position
of the curved plates is no longer
important.
If your hair is healthy, set the unit at the
ideal temperature for straightening,
230°C. Otherwise, select a lower
temperature.
Separate your hair into sections.
Clip the upper sections to the top
of your head so that you can work
with the sections underneath.
Take up a section about 2 to 3cm
wide and place it between the 2
heating plates, near the roots of
your hair.
Press the straightener handles, hold
rmly to keep the section and slide
the unit slowly down the section
from roots to tips.
Take up a new section and continue
in this way until all your hair is
straightened.
Repeat if necessary, then release
the straighteners.
Complete the style with a nishing
touch. You may wish to set the
straightening using a light misting
of hairspray.
To shape your hair
The BaByliss i curl can also be used
to accent certain sections (fringe,
ip, etc.) and lift the roots.
To lift the roots, take up a section
and hold it vertically from your
scalp. Then place the unit as closely
as possible to the roots, close the
plates on the section and rotate
the unit toward the front to give
as much volume to the roots as
possible. Hold for a few seconds,
then slowly straighten from the
roots to the tips.
To shape your hair with the
tips pointing under, follow the
instructions above but turn the unit
under (as you would a brush when
blow-drying). Hold in place for a
few seconds and release.
To turn the points outwards, follow
the same steps but turn in the other
direction.
After use, press the O button and
unplug the unit.
Allow the unit to cool on the heat-
resistant mat provided for this.
Automatic shut o
If the straightener remains on for
over 1hr, it turns o automatically.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF
YOUR STRAIGHTENER
Unplug the unit and allow it to cool
completely.
Clean the plates using a soft, damp
cloth, without detergent, to preser-
ve the optimal quality of the plates.
Do not scratch the plates.
Store the straighteners with the

them.
