I. Appearance Layout

Battery
There are 3 levels of battery control
The player is fully charged when the battery indicator is full. It will
slowly decrease according to the battery storage.
When the battery storage is nearly used up, it will indicate empty.
Please recharge the battery.

II. Basic Function
(a) Power on
Under power off status, press the power on/off switch, the green
indicator light on and the PMP start to work.
The PMP will display the startup logo (one can select his favorite logo
as the start up logo) first and then enters the main menu of the unit after 5
seconds. The player will go to main menu.
(b) Power off
Under power on status, press and hold power switch to power off. The
PMP enters power off status after 2 seconds. The display indicates:
“Power off…”
(c) OSD button display controlling
When playing movie or browsing pictures, one could close the menu
prompt by pressing OSD key. Press the key again to turn on the
display.
(d) The usage of lock key
Push the LOCK button in the arrowhead direction, the LCD displays,
and the other keys are out of function here except the power on/off key.
The unit can still be powered on or off even it is locked.
(e) File operation

Files should be put under the specified catalogue, or they will not be
identified by the PMP.
Image (asf format) and picture files (jpg format) should be put in the
folder “Removable disk/DCIM/100MEDIA”, the music files as MP3,
WAV etc. should be put in the folder “Removable disk/MP3” It is all the
same with SD/MMC card.
(f) Charging
Plug the charge into the power outlet and the plug its connector into the
socket of the PMP.
The PMP is been charging and the charging indicator light is green
now.
The unit is failed to charge if the charging indicator light is red, please
link the charge and the unit again.
Note: The unit can be charged under both powers on and off
status.. Then you can pull out the charger and use it.
(g) PC Connection
Turn on the PMP; connect it to the PC via
the USB cable in the box. The PMP will display
the connecting graphic, and if you check “my
computer” at this time, you will find two
“removable disk”. The first one is the memory
disk, and the second disk cannot be opened if no card insert.
B. Video operation
(a) Turn on the PMP; the unit enters the main menu.
1. Press the direction (,,+,-) button to select “video” menu and press
“Shutter(OK)” key to enter.

2. After entering the video menu; if there is no
video file in it, the display shows “No Video!”
If it contains files, jog the direction key to
select the video file you want to play and
press “Shutter (OK)” key to start playback.
3. When playing, jog the direction key “,” to FR or FF; jog “+,-”to select
the previous file or next file; press “” to pause and again to
continue.
4. While playing, press “+,-” button to enter the volume setting mode, the
display will shows “▁ ▂ ▃ ▄ ▅ ▆”, press
“+,-” button to adjust the volume.
5. Press “M (Mode)” key to stop the current
operation and back to previous directory.
C. Video submenu
(a) EQ Mode
1. Under the Video menu, press “Shutter (OK)”
button to enter the submenu.
2. Press “” button to open menu, then press
“+,-” to select the EQ mode which you want
to choice.
3. There are 6 kinds EQ mode can choice, Classic, Pops, Rocks, Jazz,
Bass, and Normal.
4. Press “” button to back the submenu.
(b) Play Mode
1. Press “+,-” to select “PLAY MODE”, and press “” to open menu.
2. There are four kinds play mode can choice,
REP ONE, REP ALL, RANDOM, and
Normal.
3. Press “” button to back the submenu.
(c) Protect

When you want to save the file, any can’t be delete the file.
Before you use this function, please select the video file which you
want to save.
1. Select the file, which you want to protect. Press the direction (,, +,-)
button.
2. Press “Shutter (OK)” button to enter the submenu.
3. Press “+,-” button to select Protect, and press “” to open the menu.
4. Select the “Protected” and press “Shutter (OK)” button.
5. If want to disable protect function, please
select “Unprotect” and press “Shutter (OK)”
button.
When you choose the file to be protected,
there will be a sing in left corner “”.
(d) Delete Video files
1. Under the video menu, press the direction (,, +,-) button to select
the file what you want to delete.
2. Press “Shutter (OK)” button to enter the
submenu.
3. Press “+,-” button to select “Delete”, and press
“” button to open delete menu.
4. Press “Shutter (OK)” button to confirm “Delete One”.
If the file is already protected, the screen will show “Protected”.
Please careful use this function, the file which be deleted can’t be
recovered.
5. Press “Shutter (OK)” button, all of the video files will be deleted.
When choose “Delete One” or “Delete All”, press “M (Mode)” button
will be canceling this function.
D. Audio playback
(a) Turn on the PMP, press the direction button to
select Audio menu, and press “Shutter” button

to enter it.
After entering the menu, the display shows “No Song!” if there is no
audio files; if it contains files, press “+,-” button to select the song you
want to playback, and press “Shutter” button to play it.

(e) Protect

Before you use this function, please select the video file which you

(g) Lyrics
1. The unit owns the function of lyrics synchronization function while
playing MP3.
2. Put the edited lyrics in the folder “removable disk:/MP3” together with the
same with the MP3 file except the suffix.
3. The lyrics should be *.lrc. Detailed usage of LRC edit, please refer to the
“lyrics edit” section in the addendum.

E. Photo display
Turn on the unit, it enters the main menu. Select “photo” interface by
direction button and press “Shutter” button to confirm.
After entering the photo menu, the display shows “No Image!” if there is
no photo inside; if it contains photos, you can select them by direction (,,
+,-) button.
After select the photo which you want to choose, press “Play” button to
view the picture.
(a) Protect
When you want to save the file, any can’t be delete the file.
Before you use this function, please select
the video file which you want to save.

(c) Slide Set
1. Press “+,-” to select “Slide Set”, and press “” to open menu.
2. This function can be set view picture time.
3. Press “” button to back the submenu.
When view pictures, press “EQ” button to start
slide show.
III. Record function
You can record voice or Video by this function.
The defaulted record state is in “Line in” Video Rec.
Record can be divided into AV in, Mic only, Line-in
A. Video Record (AV In)
(a) When enter into record. AV signal will be defaulted by system. ( The
screen will be blue display if no Video signal)
(b) Press ‘play’ button to start record; Use the AV
cable to connect between outside AV machine
and PMP.
(c) Press ‘play’ to start record AV.
(d) Press ‘play’ button again to pause. You can use earphone to listen
simultaneously.
Note: In AV in mode.Only earphone is valid.
B. Mic only:
(a) Press ‘+,-‘button convert to MIC REC mode.
(b) Use the built-in speaker to record directly.
C. Line-in:

(a) Press ‘+, -‘ button convert to Line-in mode.
(b) When the record indication signal light, use AV cable to connect
outside machine and PMP.
(c) Press ‘play’ button to start record.Press ‘play’ again to pause.
(d) Press ‘M’ button to exit.You can listen earphone simultaneously.
Note: In AV in mode.Only earphone is valid.
Select the right record mode to check the
Audio/Video file.
Please enter the Video/Audio interface.
Note: 1. Confirm the outside Video/Audio
signal out
2. Suggest moderating the outside volume according your
requirement.
IV. Accessory
When open PMP to enter stand-by status directly. Select the accessory
menu and press ‘ok’ to enter submenu.
Press “,” or ‘Vol+/Vol-‘ to convert the submenu.
A. Snake
(a) Select ‘Snake’ and press “Shutter” button to enter! Press “Shutter”
again to start. Press “M” to exit
(b) You can press direction “,, +,-” button. To eat
the block.
While playing, press “Shutter” button to pause or
play
B. Russia Block
(a) Select ‘Russia Block’ and press ‘ok’ button to enter.
(b) You can change the left/right direction through
press “,” button.
(c) Press “+” to change shape. Press “-” to increase
the speed. Press “Shutter” button to pause or

play.
(d) Press “M” button to exit.
C. Memory
This function use to check the capacity automatically. And the balance
(a) Select the memory menu.
(b) Press the “Shutter” button can display the
balance capacity
(c) If plug in SD/MMC CARD, will check the card
firstly.
(d) If want to check the internal capacity information.
You must convert to internal capacity
D. Calendar
This machine support calendar function.
Detail instruction as follows:
(a) Select the calendar
(b) Press “Shutter” to enter calendar. Then change
the date.
(c) The calendar can show date (Saturday/Sunday show green/blue color;
Work date is grey color) Top show the month and year.
V. Setup
The detail parameter database can be set under
‘Setting’
Setting interface can be divided into Time, Speaker,
Language, Storage, TV-out, Default, Auto power off
and Format Storage.
(a) Time
1. Enter the time setting.
2. Press “Shutter” to set time.
3. Press “,” to move the place that you need to
chang.

4. Press “+,-” to change. Press “Shutter” button and exit.
(b) Speaker
1. You can set the build-in speaker on or off. Set
the beep sound on or off.
2. You can select through “+,-” Press “Shutter” to
confirm and exit.
(c) Language
1. Enter the language.
2. This machine support Chinese/English.
3. You can select through “+,-” Press “Shutter” to
confirm and exit.
(d) Storage
1. Enter the storage.
2. You can find Nand flash/SD card/PC-DEVICE. You can convert storage.
3. But don’t increase together. Select the different
storage through “+,-”.
4. Press “Shutter” button to confirm and exit.
Note: When connect the outside U-disk,
need to USB cable to transfer. Then read or right.
(e) TV-out
1. Enter into the TV-out. Connect the PMP with TV.
2. Select the TV-PAL or TV-NTSC mode to receive the signal.
3. Then, the TV display replaces the Mp4 display. (Also the Mp4 screen is
black) If there are no TV signal.
4. Don’t select the PAL/NTSC to enter!
LCD
5. Select LCD through “+,-” Press “Shutter” button
to confirm!
6. Then the PMP LCD can display.
(f) Default

1. You can recover original setting by this function.
2. You can select through “+,-” Press “Shutter” to confirm and exit.
Note: This function will reset all settings.
(g) Auto power off
This function means that the machine can power off automatically
when stand-by status.
The power off time can be set “Never power
off, 3 minutes, 15 minutes, and 30 minutes”.
Press “Shutter” button to confirm and exit.
The user can select according your
requirement.
(h) Format storage
1. Enter the format by press “Shutter” button.
2. When the machine make an error. This function can be clear up the
entire database and format the storage again.
3. Restore the machine work state.
Checking SD need certain time. Sometimes
it will show No video! It is normal phenomenon.
Format will lost all data. So store your
information before operate.
VI. FM
Select the FM menu and then Press “Shutter” button to enter!
(a) Manual search
1. Press “+,-” button to select Manual search.
2. Press “,” to search the frequency.
(b) Save station
1. Save station is manual scanned in sequence.
2. Press “Shutter” button to select the ‘Save’ and then press ‘ok’ to save
(c) Station select
1. Press “,” can choose the manual that you save.

2. Press “Shutter” to listen the radio what you want to listen.
(d) Volume
1. Press “+,-” to select the volume.
2. Press “,” to adjust the volume.
VII. CAMERA
Select the camera menu and then press “Shutter” to enter.
(a) Zoom in/out
When photo, can zoom in/out through

(b) Light/contrast
Press “+,-” can control the Light/contrast.
Press ‘ok’ to photo.
(c) Picture effect
Press the “EQ” can select color.
Sephia, B&W, Negative effect.
(d) Continuous photo
Press “Play” to change the indication picture to then can photo
three pictures continuously.
(e) Time photo
Press “Play” to change the indication picture
to.
Then can photo according set time.
(f) Night view
Press “Play” button.
Then the display show night view
Press “M” to return main-menu

Select the DV menu and Press “OK”.
When display show time, it starts to photo.Press ‘play’ to finish and save.
(a) Zoom in/out
When confirm photo.

(b) Light/Contras
Press “+,-” can control the Light/contrast.
Press “OK” to photo.
(c) Picture effect
Press the “EQ” can select color, sephia, B&W,
Negative effect.
(d) Night view
Press “Play” button can convert to night view.
(e) Press “M” to return main-menu
All pictures can be showed in photo.

IX. Software
(a) Click “SETUP.EXE” , execute setting up operation.
As follows:
(b) Click “NEXT”.
Click “NEXT” according the information until the screen show “Install”.
(c) It will show the follow picture when finish coping.
(d) Click “finish” to ok.
A. Use of Transfer tool
(a) Firstly, It will show “SUNPLUS PMP TRASCODING” when set up the
Transfer tool.
(b) Secondly, Push the “VCD, DVD” into computer’s CD-ROM.
(c) Click the mouse as follows:

B. Operate “CONVERT”
1. Select “MEDIA MODE”.
2. Select the sample rate 8K.16K. This will play in the PMP relatively.
3. Select the Input file.
4. When conversation is finished, STOP and EXIT button are workable.
Note: conversation of CD & image are same to above. Just choose
“CD MODE” or “IMAGE MODE”.
For ASF conversation tool, please confirm you have stall following
software:
(a) Windows Media Player 10.0 version or above
(b) Microsoft Directx9.0 version or above, as demoded tool
to test relevant file format.
Note: For Windows Media Player 10.0 & Microsoft Directx9.0
version or above, you can download from
internet.
C. The PMP format
All format which the PMP supports.

D. PMP upgrade
Please copy the data in PMP before updating.
Or we will not take responsibility for any data loss.
(a) Install operation system (CD driver).
(b) Put the CD driver into CD-ROM of computer, open the file of
“CA536_Driver”, operate the file of “CA536_Driver\Windows Install
Driver\Setup.exe”.
1. Press Next
2. B. Press Next
3. Press finish. Upgrading is successful now. It is better to restart the
computer.
(c) Uninstall operation system
1. In system of 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP.
Press [start]→[system]→[control panel]→[add/cancel system]
→[install/uninstall]→[Sunplus Spca536], press cancel

2. Or [start]→[system]→[Sunplus Spca536] →[uninstall]
(d) Upgrade the system inside of PMP
Note: Before upgrade the system inside of PMP, pls install the
operation system of PMP (includes IN ME, WIN2000, and WIN XP
system). Or you cannot upgrade.
1. Format: open PMP & choose SET UP menu, then choose FORMAT to
process on.
Before format, please take out SD/MMC card, and copy the data in
PMP.
2. Storage: after formatting, choose “STORAGE”, then choose
“PC-DEVICE”, press “OK” to confirm.
3. When “OK” show on the left of the screen, you can go to next to step.
4. Connect computer: connect computer with working PMP, if
“PC-DEVICE” shows on the screen, it means connection is ok.
5. If not, please repeat above operation.
(e) Upgrade: operate the file of “ISP upgrade tool” in CD driver.
1. Choose “Normal” & “Nand”.
2. Choose “ISP”, and then choose the file of “xxxxxxxx.bin”.
Note: the file of “PMPBAB39nand_beall.bin” is the CPU operation
system of PMP. Please load our company website and download it.
