BEFORE USE
• Remove all the packing.
• Clean the surfaces with a damp cloth.
• Connect the Mains Plug into a suitable wall outlet socket and switch on.
• It is recommended that the first pies cooked with this appliance are discarded
as some residual deposits may be present from the manufacturing process.
There may some light smoking from the plates during this process, this is
normal.
• Lightly season the plates with vegetable oil before first use and wipe away
any excess.
• The inner plates become very hot during use. Take care when handling this
product especially when removing food after cooking.
• The unit must first heat up before you start making pies. This takes
approximately 4-5minutes with the unit lid closed. The red indicator will go
out when the unit has reached the required temperature.

USE
• Place your Pie Maker on a stable, flat, level heat-resistant surface.
• Close the cover and plug into the mains socket. The red light will turn on
indicating that the appliance is powered and preheating.
• In approximately 5-10 minutes the green light will illuminate when the
appliance is pre-heated and ready for use. The green light will cycle on and off
during the cooking process indicting that the correct temperature is being
maintained as the thermostat automatically maintains the correct temperature.
Always keep the cover closed when preheating or in-between uses.
• Pies will take approx. 8-15 minutes to cook depending on the type of filling.
Always check pies are fully cooked before serving.
COOKING
Cakes & Muffins
1. If making cakes and muffins
fill the pie mould
approximately
2
/
3
rds full
(see fig.1) with mixture
unless the recipe states
otherwise. Close the cover
and press the locking latch
in until it clicks.
2. Set a timer for the specified time as indicated in your recipe.
3. When the cooking time is complete unplug the Pie Maker from the mains
socket. Pull the locking latch up from the bottom and carefully lift the lid. If
you need additional browning simply close the lid and set a timer to the
desired additional time.
4. Carefully remove the cake or muffin from the mould by using a spatula. Do not
use metal utensils as they will damage the non-stick surface.
Pies & Tarts
1. If making pies and tarts, use the reversible pie cutter (Fig. 2) to make the
moulds. The larger side is for the pie base, and the smaller for the pie lid. If you
are using a pre-made pie crust dough you can get two bases from one crust.
Position pie cutter as close to the edge of the pie crust dough as possible and
press firmly down.
2. For the second base, cut the pie edges from the side and re-position in the
c
entre (Fig.3). The pie cutter creates slits in the dough for the bases (Fig. 4)
that allow you to overlap the dough for a better fit.
3. Unless the recipe states otherwise we recommend using puff pastry dough for
the lids, and standard pie crust dough for the bottom (pie tarts do not have
tops, when finished filling the base mould close the cover and start the
cooking process).
4. Open the Pie Maker and place the large base dough over the pie mould
(Fig.5).
5. Add your fillings (unless recipe states otherwise) up to
3
/
4
of the depth of the
pie mould. (see figure 6). The weight of the fillings will cause the dough to
drop down into the mould; you can also use the bottom of a ladle or rounded
spoon to gently press the dough into the mould being careful not to tear the
dough. Press the dough down gently over the edges. Note: Some fillings such
as meats will need to be pre-cooked before adding. Do not add raw
ingredients.
6. Warning - The pre-heated cooking surfaces are hot. Never touch the cooking
surface directly with your fingers.
7. If your recipe has a top (Fig. 7),
place the moulded dough top
over the filled mould and close
the cover. Press the locking latch
in until it clicks and locks into
position.
8. Set a timer for the specified time
as indicated in your recipe.
9. When the cooking time is complete unplug the pie maker from the wall outlet.
Pull the locking latch up from the bottom and carefully lift the lid. If you need
additional browning simply close the lid and set the timer to the desired time.
10. Carefully remove the pie from the mould by using a spatula. You can also use
a bamboo skewer to slide down the side of the pie. Lift one end of the pie up
and slide the spatula underneath to remove the pie from the housing. Be
careful as the pie, its filling, and appliance are hot. Do not use metal utensils
to avoid damaging the non-stick surface.
