FEATURES
Highly ecient 2-step water ltration system
The Nanotrap (PAC) lter reduces various foreign substances, from the feed water.
The Inno-sense lter reduces odor-inducer and improves the taste of water.
Electronic cooling system
The new electronic cooling system is eco-friendly since it no longer use refrigerant
but use electricity to cool water. Also this new system has improved the existing
noise issue by using electricity.
Easy lter replacement
This product is equipped with the type of revolutionary lter cartridge designed
to radically solve the drawbacks of conventional lter cartridges such as “time-
consuming replacement work” and “complicated lter setting”. Now, you can
replace the lters by one-touch, shortening the time for changing lters unlike
conventional ones.
Quick water heating
The internal heater is only activated when dispensing hot water. With this new quick
water heating system, more energy eciency and more hygiene is guaranteed.
Slim design
Since the product’s design is simple and slim, you can place the device wherever you
desire in your kitchen. You can place this compact sized device even in small space.
Smart indicators
The operation part displays the product’s operating status via LED indicators. Also,
the indicators lights up automatically when you touch the button. You can see and
feel the device’s function more easily. It will be helpful for you to understand your
product’s various functions.

thoroughly in order to use the product correctly. This manual will help you to handle problems
you may encounter while using the product. Please keep this manual at hand and the included
warranty card in a safe place.
The purpose of this product is to supply ltered hot, cold and ambient water for drinking. Our
system lters organic compounds and metallic contaminants out of feed water (tap water).
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their
safety.

INTENDED USE
The CHP-240N is tested and certied by WQA according to NSF/
ANSI 42 and 53.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Do not use a damaged power cord or plug, and loose outlet.
Do not unplug by pulling the cord or handle the plug with wet
hands.
Do not run the power cord under a heavy object to prevent it
from being damaged.
If the cord or plug is wet, unplug the unit and let it completely
dry before subsequent use.
Unplug the unit before repair, inspection, or replacement.
Do not plug into an outlet or power strip that is being used by
several other appliances.
Use a separate outlet for the unit.
Close the feed water supply valve and unplug the power cord
when not using for a long time.
Do not attempt to repair the power cord.
Do not repeatedly plug and unplug the unit from the electrical
outlet.
Do not use if the cord appears to be damaged. Please ask
customer service to replace the cord.
Reduce any dust or water on the plug.
Never use benzene or gasoline to clean the plug.
Do not install the unit near heaters.
Close the feed water supply valve and plug out, then call the A/S
centre in case of any water leakage from the product.
Do not place dishes or water containers, drugs, food, or small
metal objects on top of the product.
Be careful to keep this safety information.

Do not turn or raise the product by holding the puried water
extraction faucet.
Since both the hot and warm water may cause scalding, do not
touch the water at once. Failing to do so may result in burns.

If the main cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by
Coway, a service centre authorized by Coway or similarly
qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including

Hot water temperature indicator
The indicator lights up when the hot water
function is on. The LED is illuminated
progressively as the hot water temperature
goes up.

Ambient water indicator
The indicator lights up when the ambient
water function is on.

Cold water temperature indicator
The indicator lights up when the cold
water function is on. The LED is illuminated
progressively as the hot water temperature
goes down.

Check-up indicator
The indicator lights up when the problem
of product occurs. In this case, contact the
service centre.

Filter replacement indicator
This indicator lights up to inform the lter
replacement for NANOTRAP (PAC) and INNO-
SENSE lters.

Quantity indicator
The indicator shows the chosen quantity of
water. Dispensing quantity can be adjusted
as 120 cc

Tap this button to dispense hot water.

Tap this button to dispense ambient water.

Cold button
Tap and hold this button for 2 seconds to
activate the cold mode. Then tap the button to
dispense cold water.

Hot water lock button
Use this button to lock or unlock hot water
dispensing.
When the hot water mode is activated, no
hot water is dispensed even if you tap the
dispense button.

Quantity button
Tap this button to set the desired quantity of
water. The quantity changes by each tap.

INSTALLATION
The total length of the entire hose set is limited to maximum 5 m. Place the drain hose lower
than the appliance. The height dierence between the drain hose and the appliance must not
exceed maximum 25 cm.

Close the feed water supply valve.

Connect the connection valve to the feed water supply valve.

for leaks.

Wash the lter with ambient water for 3 minutes in continuous dispensing mode.

For safe installation
Installation place
Do not install the water ltration system at a rough and dusty place,
a place where the unit is exposed to the direct sunlight or a damp
place where water drops from the roof or ceiling.
Cold water plumbing
Connect the device to the cold water pipe.
Connecting to warm water pipe might damage the lter.
Do not connect to the warm water supply under any circumstances.

In area where the turbidity is high, install the external pre-lter (WJCF11-PRE-D)
before use.
- If not, the lter replacement cycle might be shorter than anticipated.
- The electric current (A) of multiple-tab connector should be over 12 A,
connect the product on a single tab.

button on the front panel for two seconds. The
cold water temperature indicator lights up.

Check whether the quantity indicator is lit on.
Tap the dispense button to dispense water.
The water can be dispensed continuously for 3
minutes at maximum.

ress the quantity button for 5 seconds, then
tab the quantity button to set the desired preset
quantity. The chosen quantity icon blinks and the
chosen quantity of water will be dispensed when
you tap the dispense button.
If you press the quantity button again for 5 seconds
or no other button is pressed, the preset quantity
dispensing mode is automatically deactivated.

- When initially using the product, it takes about 2 hours for the water to be adequately
chilled.
- Take caution when dispensing hot water to avoid scalding.
- In initial use of the product, dispense 1 cup of hot water. The product heats the water
directly, so it takes a while to heat the water (hot water temperature : 25 ºC (0.5 L/min),
waiting time: 4 seconds).

CLEANING METHOD
1. Clean the main body(every 2 ~ 4 weeks)
Wipe the main body with a dry and soft cloth.
- If the grime is stubborn, wipe it away with a wet cloth.

Detach the drip tray and grille
Gently lift up the drip tray. Then clean
the drip tray and grille under running
water with soft cloth or brush. Dry
them in shade.

Place the drip tray in place. Then,
place the drip tray grille on top of the
drip tray.
Replace the lters regularly. If not, the products water quality may be degraded.
The lter replacement cycle may vary within the range of expected cycle depending on the feed
water quality.

Do not clean the outside of the product by spraying water directly onto it or
using benzene or thinner.
Tips
- When the lter replacement cycle has reached its end, the lter replacement
indicator lights up to notify that the lter must be replaced.

FILTER REPLACEMENT
Filter replacement cycle
1. Close the feed water supply valve. Then, slide the top cover to reduce it. Push and hold the
button on the upper lter case. Take out the lters and lter case inside.
2. Turn the two lters respectively in
clockwise to detach the used lter. Then,
replace the new lter counterclockwise
following the lter order.
- Align the indicator with triangle when
replacing.
3. Place the replaced lter case in the
product until it clicks in place.
The red marks on the buttons indicate
that the lter case is in right place of the
product.
4. Press the ‘FILTER RESET button after placing the lter case in the
product.
- Press the ‘FILTER RESET button to light o the lter replacement
indicator.
5. Close the top cover in place. Then,
open the feed water supply valve.
Replace the lter when the lter replacement indicator blinks or lights on.

Filter replacement method
Use the new lter after lter replacement.
Flush the new lters to guarantee hygiene.
- Filter ushing: Wash new NANOTRAP(PAC) and INNO-SENSE lter with
ambient water for 3 minutes in continuous dispensing mode.

FILTER DESCALING
1. Close the feed water supply valve. Then slide the top cover to reduce it. Push and hold the button
on the upper lter case. Take out the lters and lter case inside.
2. Turn the Inno-sense lter clockwise to detach it from the lter case.
Open the DE-SCALE KIT in clockwise and insert the descaler.
3. Close the DE-SCALE KIT counterclockwise, place it in lter case rst, then the lter case in the
product.
4. Open the feed water supply valve. Dispense 120 cc of ambient water, then 1.5 L of hot water in
continuous dispensing for 3 minutes. After hot water dispensing, tap the hot water lock button for
1 second.
- Refer to the p. 7 to dispense the hot water in continuous
dispensing.
Descale the lter when hot water lock button (indicator) blinks.

Filter descaling method
5. After nishing the hot water dispensing, close the feed water supply valve. Then, take out the lter
case, detach the DE-SCALE KIT and replace the Inno-sense lter.
6. Place the lter case in the product and close the top cover.
- The red marks on the buttons indicate that the lter case is in right place of the product.
7. Open the feed water supply valve. Then, dispense the hot water (500 cc) for 1 minute.

Is the power connected?
Check if the power cord of the product is plugged into
a 220 V - 240 V~ 50 Hz / 60 Hz wall outlet.
Is water overowing or leaking? In this case, please contact the service centre.
The water ltration device may operate abnormally because the user is unfamiliar with the
product or due to some other reason and not because of a product malfunction.
In such a case, problems can be easily solved via checking the following without help from the
service centre. If the problem is not solved after checking the following, please call the service
centre.

Commencing with the date of purchase of the
Product and continuing for a period of one year,
if manufacturing defects in the Product cause the
Product to not operate properly for its intended
use, then subject to the exclusions, conditions, and
limitations contained herein, COWAY at its sole
option will repair or replace the Product.
Decisions as to the extent of repair or replacement
required will be made solely by COWAY.
The remedy under this Warranty is available only
for that portion of the Product exhibiting defects
at the time of the warranty claim. The replacement
Product as well as any remaining original Product
will be warranted only for the original one year
warranty period. This limited warranty applies
only to Product used for an application specied
by COWAY for the Product and applied in strict
accordance with COWAY published specications
in eect at the time of application. IF PRODUCT IS
USED FOR OTHER THAN ITS INTENDED PURPOSE,
IT IS SOLD AS IS AND WITHOUT ANY EXPRESS

Limitations on Implied Warranties:
Any implied warranty of merchantability or
tness for a particular purpose or use, shall be
limited to the duration of the foregoing express
written warranty.
Conditions of Warranty:
COWAY’s continuing liability under this
Warranty is conditioned upon the following :
a) The defect or damage is not caused
by or is the result of : abnormal use or
conditions; improper storage, unauthorized
modications or repair; misuse, neglect,
accident, alteration, improper installation or
other acts that are not the fault of Coway or
the manufacturer of the product or that are
not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty;
b) The Product has not been altered, modied
or repaired without prior written approval of
COWAY;
c) The OWNER has notied COWAY in writing
of any failure of the Product covered by this
Warranty within thirty (30) days following
such failure;
d) There has been no misuse, abuse or
negligence with respect to the Product on
the part of the OWNER.
Waiver:
COWAY’s failure at any time to enforce or rely
upon any of the terms or conditions stated
herein shall not be construed to be a waiver of
its rights hereunder.
Obtaining Warranty Service and OWNER’S
Duties:
If the Product fails to operate for its
intended purpose, then notify Coway or its
Representative Agency within 48 hours or
within the next business day after discovery
of any defect in the Product. The OWNER must
give written notice to COWAY no later than
thirty (30) days after a defect is discovered or
should by reasonable diligence have been
discovered. Claims under this Warranty will
require proof of purchase by the OWNER.
