Description of the system

MIYO is a wireless irrigation system for green spaces of any size—from garden plots to

golf courses.

MIYO optimises the water consumption of your plants depending on pre-settings, require-

ments, the weather forecast and optional messages from a smart home system. Batteries

never have to be replaced because the valve and sensor run exclusively on solar power.

MIYO can operate autonomously or be controlled from your smartphone or PC. You also

have the option of connecting MIYO to an existing smart home system.

Cube

The cube is the central control unit of the garden irrigation

system; it is placed indoors and can optionally be connect-

ed to an existing smart home system. It controls one or

more irrigation areas using valves and sensors.

Just one cube is needed per irrigation system. This lets you

control more than 200 valves and sensors.

Valve

The valve is connected to the cube over a wireless network

and opens or closes the water ow for one irrigation area.

The integrated solar panel alone ensures the supply of

power. The integrated battery stores the energy that is

generated.

Multiple valves can be implemented in each irrigation sys-

tem. At least one valve is required per irrigation area. It is

intended only for outdoor use.

Sensor

The sensor is connected to the cube over a wireless

network and transmits measured values for soil moisture,

temperature and brightness to the cube.

The integrated solar panel alone ensures the supply of

power. The integrated battery stores the energy that is

generated.

Multiple sensors can be implemented in each irrigation sys-

tem. A maximum of one sensor can be used per irrigation

area. It is intended only for outdoor use.

System application areas

The MIYO irrigation system automatically regulates the irrigation of green spaces specic

to requirements and user settings. It is ideal for home gardens (e.g. gardens adjoining row

homes, single or multi-family houses, weekend or vacation homes and for greenhouses

and garden plots).

Thanks to its expandability to more than 200 valves and sensors, it can also provide irri-

gation for large green spaces on company grounds and hotels as well as golf courses and

other sports facilities.

Warnings

Do not immerse the cube, valve or sensor in water.

Only use the cube indoors. Use valves and sensors exclusively outdoors.

Do not open the housing of the cube, valve or sensor.

Clean the housing of the cube, valve or sensor only using a damp cloth. Never use

solvent for cleaning.

Do not kick or hit the sensor.

Bury the sensor as described—do not use force (avoid resistance) to insert it into the

soil.

Do not position the sensor in a depression; this can result in too much water collecting

around the sensor in the case of rain.

If the power unit, a cable or a device is damaged, the respective device may no longer

be used.

Compliance with the operating instructions is mandatory.

Structural conditions (e.g. functional drainage) must be ensured for use on balconies or

at roofs.

The user is responsible for the settings (particularly moisture limits).

Because of long storage time the battery may get empty. In this case, put the device

into direct sunlight for 30 minutes.

Connection to smart home systems

The cube has the option of connecting to existing smart home systems and oers an

HTTP and a WebSocket interface.

The smart home system manufacturer is responsible for ensuring compatibility with the

MIYO irrigation system. The MIYO irrigation system can be connected to a smart home

system only if it is supported by that system.

Installation of the app

Use the app in a web browser or search for MIYO in the App Store/Google Play:

Operation

The MIYO irrigation system is operated entirely using the app.

Functions of the app:

• Create new users

• Add new valves or sensors to the system

• Manage irrigation areas

• Manually start, stop or pause irrigation

• Activate or deactivate winter mode

• Access statistics

Maintenance

• If a constant Internet connection is not possible, connect the cube to the Internet at

least once per year for one week in order to install updates automatically.

• Check the result of irrigation and adjust the settings if necessary.

• Check whether the connections are free of leaks.

• Clean the housing of the cube, valve or sensor only using a damp cloth.

• Clean the solar cells on the valve or sensor as needed using a damp cloth.

Deactivation before winter and

activation in spring

See the operating instructions for the cube, valve and sensor.

Storage

During prolonged periods of non-use and during the winter break, store the cube, valves

and sensors in a dry place.

4. For the return shipment, you will receive an RMA number from us or our service part-

ner. This service is free of charge as part of the warranty required by law. This excludes

damage caused by use and/or wear (e.g. battery). After the warranty period has expired

or in case of damage not covered by the warranty, we will send you a cost estimate.

Please send us the units (ideally in the original packaging) only after a request from us

or one of our service partners. This ensures safe shipping.
