The “battery low” voice message sounds.

Voice Call
1. When a call is received, press the Call/Play button.
To refuse the call, press and hold the Call/Play button for 2 seconds.
To hang up the call, press the Call/Play button during the call.
(Press and hold the Call/Play button during the MK3 call and the call will be switched to the smart phone. P
ress and hold it again and the call will be switched to the MK3.)
2. If you press and hold the Call/Play button during standby, it will place a call to the most recently conn
ected phone number.
Play Music
1. You can play music and control the volume using the smart phone.
Press the Call/Play button to pause and press it again to play the music.
2. Press the FWD button to play the next music and press the REV button to play the previous music.
Press and hold the FWD button to fast forward, and press and hold the REV button to fast rewind.
LED Flash
1. Press the LED Flash button to turn it on and off.
If you look at the light source directly, your eyesight may be damaged.
Using the LED flash for a long time will cause the battery to discharge rapidly.

1. Remove the touch pen cap at the bottom of the device and mount the touch pen supplied in the package.
If you do not use the touch pen function, install the touch pen cap while using the device.

Connecting to a Smart Phone (for Android)
1. While pressing the PTT button, turn the Power/Volume button to turn on the power.
2. When the blue status indicator blinks and the voice message, 'Ready to pair,’ sounds, release the PTT button.
3. MK3 will enter the Android pairing mode.
4. Press the Search button in the Bluetooth Settings of your smart phone.
5. If MK3(XXXX)PTT is found, select it.
6. The connection will be established in a moment.
(The time required to pair may differ by the smart phone models.)

Installing Zello (for Android)
1. Search "Zello" in the Playstore and press the "Install" button.
2. Download "Zello" or update it to the latest version.
3. Execute "Zello".
4. Create a "Zello" account.
5. Enter the account information.

4. Press ADD BUTTON.
5. Press the wireless transmission button. (Some smart phones may require several touches in order to register.)
6. The wireless transmission button is registered in Zello.
7. During radio transmission, press the PTT button to send your voice and release it when the transmission is
finished.

Setting options for Zello (for Android)
1. Select the menu icon in Zello.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Audio.
4. Check the checkbox for the “Apply audio mode only when a message is sent or played” option.
[Caution] If this option is not checked, the music may not play properly for some smart phone models during
the transmission of the radio.
5. Select Legacy Bluetooth mode.
6. Set the Legacy Bluetooth mode to Auto.

Adding a contact for Zello (for Android)
1. Press the 'Add a contact' icon.
2. Enter the information of the contact (Zello user ID, e-mail address, and phone number) and press the Search
button.
3. Press the 'Add to the Contact' button.
4. Wait for the approval of the counterpart.
5. If the counterpart approves, the status changes to Available,
(App. launch screen may be revised due to its version update.)

2. When the blue status indicator blinks and the voice messages 'Ready to pair’ and 'iOS Zello Support' sound

3. MK3 will enter the iOS pairing mode.
4. Search the device by turning on the Bluetooth of the iPhone.
5. If MK3(XXXX)PTT is found, select it.
6. The connection will be established in a moment.

4. Select the 'Mix with other audio' option and press 'Off'.
[Caution] If you turn on the 'Mix with other audio' option, the playing quality of the music will be lowered to th
e quality of the radio transceiver.

SOS button (Only supported by Android smart phones.)
1. MK3 app installation and SOS message recipient setting
From the Play Store, search 'R2GEAR' or 'MK3' and install and launch the MK3 app.
1) Press the 'Start' button.
2) Press the 'Search' button.
3) Select the MK3(HELP) device.
4) Press '+' to register SOS message recipient(s). You can register up to 4 recipients.
2. Upon emergency, press the SOS button 3 times consecutively to send the SOS message.
When the SOS message is sent successfully, MK3 beeps a signal tone.
A SMS text with location information is sent to the SOS message recipient. The recipient can press the URL
address to view the location of the MK3 user. When you send a SOS message, you will be charged for the tr
ansmission by the mobile service carrier.

Precautions
Battery
If the battery is not used for a long time, it may discharge rapidly.
Even if the device is not used for a long time, it is recommended that you fully charge the battery every 6 mont
hs to maintain the battery performance.
Water-proof performance
This device satisfies the IP56 water-proof standards. However, its water-proof performance is not perfect.
Do not use the device under the water.

Carefully handle the cap. The cap plays a critical role in water-proof performance. Make sure that the cap is fully
closed when you use the device. The cap won't be closed properly if it is contaminated with any foreign substa
nce. If the cap is not fully closed, its water-proof performance may deteriorate and water may leak into the devic
e, causing a failure.
Interference from other devices
The Bluetooth device and the wireless LAN share the same frequency. If you use this device near a wireless LA
N device, radio interference may occur and communication speed may be lowered or noise may occur.
