The following explains how to connect Ethernet wires to the inverter Ethernet terminal
block. These instructions replace pages 50-53 of the SolarEdge Installation Guide V2.0
and pages 72-75 of the SolarEdge Installation Guide North America V1.6.
1. Insert the Ethernet CAT5/6 cable through the appropriate communication
gland.
2. Remove the cable’s external isolation using the crimping tool or cable cutter
and expose eight wires. Standard cables have eight wires (four twisted pairs), as
shown in the diagram below.

3. The inverter has an eight-pin terminal block connector for Ethernet
communication. Pull it out, as shown below:

4. Loosen the screws of the connectors on the Ethernet terminal block, aside for
the screw of the G connector, as shown below:

5. Insert the ends of the wires into the connectors according to the table below:

6. Close the screws of the terminal block connectors and insert the Ethernet
terminal block into the communication board.
7. For the switch/router side, prepare an RJ45 connector as follows:
Insert the eight wires into the RJ45 connector.

Use an Ethernet crimper to crimp the wires.
Connect the end of the Ethernet cable with the RJ45 connector to the RJ45 port of the
Ethernet switch or router.
