Beosound Explore charging instructions
We recommend that you charge your Beosound Explore before using it for the first time.
You can charge the Beosound Explore using the USB-C cable which is included in the box.
The battery indicator flashes amber when charging and turns green when the battery is fully
charged. At 15% battery level the battery indicator will turn red, and a sound prompt is heard. At
10% battery level or less, the indicator will be flashing red.
You can always use the Bang & Olufsen App to check the battery status.
Note: A charging adapter of a maximum of 5V / 3A can be used to charge your Beosound
Explore.
Can I charge my Beosound Explore using USB-C from a computer?
Yes, but the charging time varies depend on laptop or PC charging capability. Use a charger of at
least 5V / 1A rating and a maximum of 5V / 3A rating to charge Beosound Explore.

My Beosound Explore will not switch on or respond to button presses. What
should I do?
In certain cases, a hardware reset might be required. To initiate a hardware reset, connect the
speaker to power via the USB cable and press and hold the power button.
What do I do if I cannot switch on my Beosound Explore after not using it for
a long period of time?
Use a charger of at least 5V / 1A rating, and a maximum of 5V / 3A to charge Beosound
Explore. Please refer to the article What do the indicator lights on Beosound Explore
mean? for information about the battery level status.
Can I charge my mobile device when it is running low on battery while
playing music on my Beosound Explore?
Beosound Explore does not offer a charging output.
Can I play music while charging my Beosound Explore?
Yes, you can enjoy music while charging Beosound Explore. Remember to use a USB-cable or a charger
providing a maximum of 5V / 3A.
Why can I not check the battery level of my Beosound Explore on my phone?
Beosound Explore does not support a Handsfree Profile to view battery level on the main screen of a
phone. However, the battery level can be checked via the Bang & Olufsen app.
How do I connect the charging cable to my Beosound Explore?
Insert the cable fully until there is a mechanical clicking sound, and the light indicator flashes orange.
What is the charging time for Beosound Explore?
Typical charging time is approximately 2 hours when using the included USB cable and a 5V /
3A charger (which is maximum). However, charging times can vary significantly depending on
the charger type used.
What do the battery level indicator lights on my Beosound Explore mean?
The battery indicator on the side of the speaker flashes orange when charging and turns green
when the battery is fully charged.
The battery indicator will briefly turn orange at 40% battery level to give an early warning
indication of a lower battery level. This indication will disappear after 5 minutes.
At 20% battery level, the battery indicator will turn red, and it will begin to flash red at 10%
battery level.
The battery status can always be viewed in the Bang & Olufsen app.

What is the battery life of Beosound Explore?
Battery life depends on a number of factors including volume level, intensity of music and equaliser
settings. At a typical listening volume, battery life will be up to 27 hours.
