Operation
Important:Thebatterypackisnotfullychargedwhen
itispurchased.Beforeusingthehedgetrimmerforthe
rsttime,placethebatterypackinthechargerchargeuntil
theLEDindicatorsturngreen.Makesuretoreadallsafety
precautions.Withregularuse,itwillneedshortercharging
time.Ifstoringforaprolongedperiodoftime,removethe
battery.Whenreadytouseagain,chargethebatterypack
untiltheLEDindicatorsturngreen.
StartingtheHedgeTrimmer
1.Removetheprotectivecoverfromthecutterblades(Figure
1).
WARNING
Thehedgetrimmerbladescancausecutsor
amputation.
Becarefulwhenhandlingthehedgetrimmerwith
theprotectivecoverremoved.

6.Slidethelockswitchbackwards,towardsyou,thensqueeze
thetriggerswitchtoturnonthehedgetrimmer(Figure2).
Thetrimmerwillstayonaslongasthetriggerswitchis
squeezed.Lock-offswitchmaybereleasedoncehedge
trimmerisrunning(Figure2).

sweepingactionfromsidetoside.
Standsothatyouarestableandbalancedonbothfeet.Do
notoverreach.
Inspectandcleartheareaofanyhiddenobjects.
Neverusethehedgetrimmernearpowerlines,fencing,
posts,buildings,orotherimmovableobjects.
Neveruseabladeafterhittingahardobjectwithoutrst
inspectingitfordamage.Donotuseifanydamageis
detected.
Nevertouchbladesorserviceunitwiththepowersupply
connected.
Donotforcethehedgetrimmerthroughheavyshrubbery.
Thiscancausethebladestobindandslowdown.Ifthe
bladesslowdown,reducethepace.
Donotattempttocutstemsortwigsthatarelargerthan
9/16in.,orthoseobviouslytoolargetofeedintothecutting
blade.Useanon-poweredhandsaworpruningsawtotrim
largestems.
Ifbladesdobecomejammed,stopthemotor,allowtheblades
tostop,andremovethebatterybeforeattemptingtoremove
theobstruction.
Ifdesired,youcanuseastringtohelpcutyourhedgelevel.
Decidehowhighyouwantthehedge.Stretchapieceof
stringalongthehedgeatthedesiredheight.Trimthehedge
justabovetheguidelineofstring.
Trimthesideofahedgesothatitwillbeslightlynarrowerat
thetop.Moreofthehedgewillbeexposedwhenshapedthis
way,anditwillbemoreuniform.
Weargloveswhentrimmingthornyorpricklygrowth.When
trimmingnewgrowth,useawidesweepingaction,sothatthe
stemsarefeddirectlyintothecuttingblade.
Maintenance
OilingtheTrimmerBlade
Note:Thetrimmerbladeshouldbeoiledbeforeandaftereach
use.
1.Stopthemotorandremovethebattery.
2.Cleandirtanddebrisfromthebodyofthehedgetrimmer,
usingadampclothwithamilddetergent.
Note:Donotuseanystrongdetergentsontheplastic
housingorthehandle.Theycanbedamagedbycertain
aromaticoilssuchaspineandlemon,andbysolventssuch
askerosene.
3.Laythehedgetrimmeronaatsurface.Applylightweight
machineoilalongtheedgeofthetopblade.Ifyouwillbe
usingthehedgetrimmerforanextendedperiodoftime,itis
advisabletooilthebladeduringuse.
Note:Donotoilwhilethehedgetrimmerisrunning.
