TheGOVlengthisthenumberofframesbetweentwoconsecutiveI-frames.IncreasingtheGOVlengthmaysaveconsiderablyon
bandwidthrequirementsinsomecases,butmayalsohaveanadverseaffectonimagequality.
TheAxisproductsupportstwoH.264proles.TheMainproleprovideshighercompressionthantheBaselineprolewiththesame
videoquality,butrequiresmoreprocessingpowertodecode.
ThebitratecanbesetasVariableBitRate(VBR)orConstantBitRate(CBR).VBRadjuststhebitrateaccordingtotheimage
complexity,usingupmorebandwidthforincreasedactivityintheimage,andlessforlowerimageactivity.CBRallowsyoutoseta
xedTargetbitratethatconsumesapredictableamountofbandwidth.Asthebitratewouldusuallyneedtoincreaseforincreased
imageactivity,butinthiscasecannot,framerateandimagequalityareaffectednegatively.Topartlycompensateforthis,itis
possibletoprioritizeeitherframerateorimagequality.Notsettingaprioritymeansthatframerateandimagequalityareequally
affected.Youmustsaveyoursettingsbeforetheycantakeeffect.
