ToinstalltheAxisproduct,refertotheInstallationGuidesuppliedwiththeproduct.

Theproductcanbeusedwithmostoperatingsystemsandbrowsers.TherecommendedbrowsersareInternetExplorerwithWindows,

SafariwithMacintoshandFirefoxwithotheroperatingsystems.SeeTechnicalSpecications,onpage60.

ToviewstreamingvideoinInternetExplorer,allowinstallationofAXISMediaControl(AMC)whenprompted.

isalsosupportedforviewingH.264streamsandforaudio.

•Ifyourcomputerrestrictstheuseofadditionalsoftwarecomponents,theproductcanbeconguredtouseaJavaapplet

3.Enteryourusernameandpassword.Ifthisisthersttimetheproductisaccessed,therootpasswordmustrstbe

4.Theproduct’sLiveViewpageopensinyourbrowser.

ThecontrolsandlayoutoftheLiveViewpagemayhavebeencustomizedtomeetspecicinstallationrequirementsand

AccessfromtheInternet

Onceconnected,theAxisproductisaccessibleonyourlocalnetwork(LAN).ToaccesstheproductfromtheInternetyoumust

congureyournetworkroutertoallowincomingdatatrafctotheproduct.Todothis,enabletheNAT-traversalfeature,which

willattempttoautomaticallyconguretheroutertoallowaccesstotheproduct.ThisisenabledfromSetup>SystemOptions>

Network>TCP/IPAdvanced.

SettheRootPassword

ToaccesstheAxisproduct,youmustsetthepasswordforthedefaultadministratoruserroot.ThisisdoneintheCongureRoot

Passworddialog,whichopenswhentheproductisaccessedforthersttime.

Topreventnetworkeavesdropping,therootpasswordcanbesetviaanencryptedHTTPSconnection,whichrequiresanHTTPS

certicate.HTTPS(HypertextTransferProtocoloverSSL)isaprotocolusedtoencrypttrafcbetweenwebbrowsersandservers.The

HTTPScerticateensuresencryptedexchangeofinformation.SeeHTTPS,onpage43.

Thedefaultadministratorusernamerootispermanentandcannotbedeleted.Ifthepasswordforrootislost,theproductmustbe

resettothefactorydefaultsettings.SeeResettoFactoryDefaultSettings,onpage54.

TosetthepasswordviaastandardHTTPconnection,enteritdirectlyinthedialog.

clientsviewingsimultaneously.Amulticastcannothowever,passanetworkrouterunlessthe

routerisconguredtoallowthis.ItisnotpossibletomulticastovertheInternet,forexample.

Notealsothatallmulticastviewerscountasoneunicastviewerinthemaximumtotalof20

simultaneousconnections.

AXISMediaControlnegotiateswiththeAxisproducttodeterminethetransportprotocoltouse.Theorderofpriority,listedinthe
