Hobart GF-60 S is a glasswasher designed to wash dishes such as glasses, cups, cutlery etc. The machine is easy to install and features a built-in softener to prevent limescale build-up. Important Notes
Use in Accordance with Regulations
This Machine is exclusively to be used to wash dishes such as glasses,
cups, cutlery etc.
Do not use for electrically heated cooking and heat conservation
appliances.
Safety
Never hose down the machine.
The "Attention" symbol is shown beside instructions that are essential
for the safe operation of the machine. Please read these passages
very thoroughly.
Liability
Installations and repairs which are not carried out by authorized
technicians or the use of other than original spare parts, and any
technical alterations to the machine, may affect the warranty set
out in the standard conditions of sale.

1 Installation
1.1 Transport to installation location
If possible in its packing and on skid.
Use a wheel barrow or slide on piece of carpet.
Avoid damage to floor and doors.
1.2 Remove packing
Cut steel bands.
Remove carton.
Remove wooden skid.
Remove inside packing material and accessories.
Check for are any shipping damage.
In case of doubt do not use the machine until it has been
checked by an authorized specialist.
1.3 Locating
Wall clearance is not required.
Level machine by turning the feet.
Distribute machine weight equally onto all feet.

2 Connections
2.1 Electrical connection
Must be carried out by an authorized technician
according to the local and national codes.
Set main switch at site.
Check machine specifications to make sure they correspond to
those of the site supply and the wiring diagram.
Check site fuse rating.
According to EN 60 335 the appliance must be connected to a
equipotential conductor. The connecting screw is located beside
the cable inlet.
2.2 Water connection
Connect if possible to soft and warm water (4 °Clark, max. 50°C).
Line flow pressure 2 – 4 bar.
If line flow pressure is below 2 bar: provide rinse booster
pump at site.
If line flow pressure is above 4 bar: provide pressure reducer.
Connect flexible supply hose with union nut

The machine is equiped with a backflow preventer
(GF-60 S with a Type A airgap).
The machine must be operated with water of
drinking quality.
For water with an extremely high mineral content,
water treatment is recommended.
2.3 Drain connection
Connect to trapped drain line.
Connection between machine and site drain must not exceed
max. height of 1 metre.
Do not kink drain hose.
When connected to floor drain the drain hose must be at least
400 mm above the floor to prevent the tank from draining empty.
Should be fixed with the supplied hose clamp if necessary.

To reach hygienic rinse temperatures even with cold water connection or reduced heating power,
the actual cycle times extend accordingly.

4 First Run
Check level of detergent and rinse agent containers.
Make sure that the strainer is in correct position.
(If it is in a wrong position or missing, the machine cannot be
started.)
4.1 Filling the machine
Open shut-off valve.
Switch on main switch.
Close the door.
Set selector switch to Wash programme (I or II).
Pilot light Machine ON illuminates.
The machine will automatically fill-up and at the same time the
rinse booster heater will be switched on.
Attention: Do not push the Start button !
For single-phase machine allow 15 minutes for the wash water
to heat up before commencing washing.
This time is reduced for three-phase machines.
After installation: switch off machine.
Loosen the connection indicated (see fig.) to release air from
the pipe work.
Tighten the connection.
4.2 Test cycle
Push Start button until the pilot light programme illuminates.
The wash cycle starts.
A complete wash cycle consists of: wash, drain and rinse.
When pilot light switches off, wash cycle is finished.
4.3 Check
While the cycle is running open the door slowly, and check
if upper and lower wash and rinse arms rotate smoothly.
Check and eliminate any leakages from the supply and drain
pipe-work.

5 Dispensers
5.1 Filling the containers
Rinse agent
Open the flap of the lower front panel and fill the receptacle by
using the supplied funnel.
Detergent
Do not use any acidic detergent products with the built-in
detergent pump.
Put suction hose into detergent container.
Note: Run machine empty for one wash cycle until suction
hose is filled.
To avoid the dry running of the detergent pump, the suction
hose is equipped with a level switch.
Use only commercial detergent and rinse agent.
Please pay attention to the manufacturers safety rules
and instructions.
5.2 Concentration adjustment
To be done by an authorized technician in accordance with the
detergent and rinse agent producer’s instructions.
Rinse agent
Switch off machine.
Set main switch to "0".
Remove lower front panel carefully.
Turn the adjusting screw (behind the panel).
Turn to left: increase dosage / turn to right: decrease dosage.
The dispenser is factory adjusted to max. position.
Detergent
Switch off machine.
Set main switch to "0".
Open the upper front panel (A).
To adjust the detergent concentration turn the potentiometer (B)
of the electronic board.
Turn to right: increase dosage / turn to left: decrease dosage.
Close panels after adjustment.
The dispenser is factory adjusted to medium position.
Ask your rinse agent and detergent supplier concerning an
optimum adjustment for quantity.

6 Softener (GF-60 S only)
6.1 Adjustment
The built-in cycle counter compares the number of performed
wash cycles with the set degree of water hardness.
To know water hardness level ask local water authority.
The softener is factory adjusted to 25° clark.
To modify the settings:
Switch off machine.
Set main switch to "0".
Open the upper front panel (A).
The water hardness and the number of wash cycles respectively
can be adjusted by means of pushing-in a number of notches at
the cycle counter (C).
(e.g. factory adjusted water hardness is 25° clark, that means
17 pushed-in notches resp. 34 wash cycles)

After adjustment rotate the cam-shaft clockwise until the micro-
switch locks into place.

6.2 Regeneration
When the machine is delivered, the softener is already
regenerated.
When regeneration pilot light illuminates (indicating that salt is
required), set programme switch to drain position.
Push the start button until the programme pilot light illuminates.
When the pilot light switches off, open the door.
Unscrew the softener lid.
Hold the supplied dispenser funnel at its handle and fill up with
salt to mark "B" (250 g).
Use Granular salt only. Salt tablets or powdered salt are not
recommended.
Set the funnel on the opening of the salt receptacle and push
down handle until the funnel is empty.
Take out funnel.
Clean seal and rim of softener lid and border carefully
before closing the lid.
Close lid and tighten.
Important: only fill with salt just before starting the
regeneration programme.
Close the door.
Set the programme switch to regeneration position.
Push start button until the programme pilot light illuminates.
While the cycle is running, the pilot light regeneration switches off.
Attention:
Do not open the door during regeneration.
After approx. 20 minutes the programme pilot light switches off,
the regeneration is finished.
Machine is ready to wash.

7 Operation

8 Cleaning (daily)

9 Frost prevention
In case of frost or longer operation pauses (e.g. for seasonal
operations) the machine must be completely drained.
This should be carried out by HOBART after sales service.
Please contact your local HOBART Office.
Reset for operation according to chapter 4.
10 Maintenance
For trouble free operation we recommend you enter into a service
contract with your local HOBART Service Office.
