Goldmund GOLDCUBE

**The Goldmund GOLDCUBE is a high-quality power amplifier designed to be used with the Goldmund APOLOGUE speaker system. It is a DC-coupled amplifier with a nominal power output of 100W RMS into 8 ohms and a maximum power output of 150W RMS into 3 ohms. It has a wide frequency response of 0 to 0.9MHz and a very low distortion of less than 0.01% at 80dB. The GOLDCUBE also has a number of safety features, including DC protection, HF oscillation protection, and short-circuit protection.

CHOICE

AMPLIFIER LOCATION AND

COOLING

The

GOLDMUND GOLD CUBE has been designed to be used

combination

with

the GoLDMUND APOLOGUE speaker sys-

tem,

: A 234V adjusted amplifier

will function

properly

245Y . For

1 1 7V version,

the

AC line must deliver between

105

and

125V. lf

your

AC line is

usually

out of

these

tolerances,

please

consult

your

GOLDMUND

dealer.

Please

check the

value

of the

main line f

use.

This f use

is located

the bottom of the amolifier,

near

a corner.

The

golden

lid

can be

removed with

a smallscrewdriver

or better

with

a coin, and then the

use

holder.

Use a 3A slow-blow

fuse for 22OV

and a 5A slow-blow

fuse for

1 10V.

CONNECTIONS

Connectthe

power

cord of the amplifier

the

nearest wall

plug.

Use only a 3

lugs

grounded

plug,

for

safety

reasons. To

get

the

best sound

of the amplif

ier,

avoid any

multiple

plug

extension

cord.

Connect the

interconnect

between the

preamp

and the

power

amp.

The

RCA

female

socket

CONTROLS

On the

front

of the GOLDMUND GOLD CUBE are only

to again increase

the sonic

quality

your

speakers

reverting

the

polarity

of the speaker cable amp

termination. But

since the

line

phase

and the speaker

polarity

interfere

to each other,

you

have

to experiment

carefully all the

combinations

before

picking

the right one.

provides

very sophisti-

cated

features

protectthe

speaker

against all

kind of mishandle or comoonent

failure.

Protection

against

DC.

The GOLD CUBE is a DC-coupled amplifier.

the associated

preamplifier

badly

designed or defective

(often

true

for

the

tube

preamps),

the speaker could be damaged.

The

detection

circuit of the GOLD

CUBE

totally

immune

any sonic effect

but

will immediately

switch off the

speaker

such a

malf unction

occurs.

The speaker will be immediately and automatically

reconnected

as soon as the

perturbation

disappears.

Protection

against

oscillations.

In the same way, the speaker

will

be disconnected

high frequency oscillation

returns

oscillation disappears.

open the top
