Before Using Your Steam Generator For The
First Time
Before Plugging In
Make sure your electricity supply is the same as the one shown on the underside of
the steam generator iron.
Test the steam generator iron on an old cloth to make sure the soleplate and water
tank are clean. We recommend that you allow steam to disperse by pressing the
steam button in order to release any residues that may have built up during the
manufacturing process.
Using Your Steam Generator
Place the steam generator iron on the support of the ironing board or any other stable
surface nearby with the iron sitting on the iron rest. Make sure the steam generator
iron is unplugged and that the power and steam supply cords are unrolled and not
kinked.
Filling With Water
1. Remove the water tank by holding the grip on its
underside and pulling out.
2. Flip open the water tank cover and  ll the tank with
water. Close the cover.
Repeat the above step after prolonged periods of storage.
Never  ll the tank above the MAX lever marked.
A  lter is  tted to the steam generator iron and is designed to reduce the build
up of limescale prolonging the life of the steam generator iron. However it will
not completely eliminate limescale build up.
Using  ltered water will also extend the life of the water  lter.
The  lter should be replaced with a new one after 6 months if the steam
generator iron is used daily. To remove the  lter,  rst remove the water tank,
then grip the 2 protrusions on the  lter and pull  rmly to remove. Replace with
a new  lter. For replacements contact Partmaster 08706001338.

unplug the steam generator iron  rst. Remove the tank and  ll with water.
Ironing Temperatures
Check the ironing instructions attached to the article (they are on a label showing a
symbol of an iron). Always follow these ironing instructions. The indications on the
irons temperature dial and the table below will help you.
If there are no ironing instructions but you know the fabric, then use the table below.
The table is valid only for the actual materials and does not take into account any
nish applied to the fabric. Textiles to which a  nish has been applied (wrinkle relief,
printed T shirts etc.) should be ironed at a lower temperature.
Do not iron
Synthetics. Set Iron to LOW ( • )
Wool, Silk. Set Iron to MEDIUM ( • • )
Cotton, Linen. Set Iron to HIGH ( • • • )
If the fabric contains mixed  bres, select the lowest ironing temperature of the
composition, e.g. iron a 60% polyester / 40% cotton mix at the temperature indicated
for polyester.
The iron heats up quicker than it cools down. Sort fabrics to be ironed into groups
according to temperature: wool with wool, cotton with cotton, etc. Start by ironing
articles requiring low temperature settings and progress to higher ones.
Do not add anything else to the water such as water from clothes driers,
scented water, water from refrigerators, air conditioners, batteries, bottled
mineral water or rain water. These contain organic waste or mineral elements
that become concentrated when heated and cause splitting, brown staining or
premature wear to the steam generator iron.
3. Replace the tank by pushing  rmly into place.
If the tank is not  tted correctly the steam generator iron will not operate
and
will appear on the display.
Do not iron garments that are dirty or stained. The iron’s heat may set the stain.
Pure (100%) wool fabrics may be pressed with the iron set to a steam position
and the garment protected by a dry cloth.

Setting The Temperature
1. Plug the steam generator iron into the main socket.
The standby indicator will be visible on
the display when the iron is heating.
Dry Ironing
Following the procedure for setting the temperature (there is no need to  ll the water
tank). Press the right hand steam selection button repeatedly until
appears on the
display. Care should be taken not to press the steam button.
Steam Ironing
1. Follow the procedure for setting the temperature, making sure there is water
in the water tank. For best results when steaming we recommend that the
temperature control should be set to STEAM.
2. Use the steam selection button to select the amount of steam. Initially when
the iron is switched on the unit automatically displays
and will produce
the most steam in this position. To reduce the amount of steam press the
steam selection button again and will appear and if it pressed again is
displayed which is the least amount of steam. Each time the button is pressed the
unit will beep.
2. Press and hold down the stand-by button for at least 3 seconds. The iron will beep
and the display will illuminate.

want. When the iron reaches the set temperature, the
temperature indicator light will go out. (During ironing,
this light will go on and o as your iron maintains the
right temperature.)

3. To produce steam whilst ironing clothes press the steam button. To stop steaming
release the steam button.
Never steam clothes being worn. Keep your hands away
from the steam and soleplate.
Always ensure that the iron is facing away from the user
and/or others when vertical steaming.
Auto Shut-off Function
If the steam generator iron is not used for more than 15 minutes, the iron will beep
and the display will  ash the auto-o symbol
and the display back light will switch
o . Press the steam selection button to switch the iron and the display back light on
again and to resume ironing.
After Ironing
1. To turn the iron o , press and hold down the display on/o button until a beep is
heard and the display switches o .
2. Unplug the appliance and allow to cool completely.
3. Empty the water tank.
Before starting to iron or if you have not used the steam function for a while, hold
the iron away from your ironing and press the steam button for 30 seconds and then
release for 30 seconds. Repeat this sequence twice more. This will enable any cold
water condensed in the steam cord to be removed from the steam circuit.
Always ensure when steaming that the temperature control is set to STEAM
and that the iron has reached the correct temperature.
If the soleplate temperature drops too low, steam will not be released until the
soleplate reaches the required temperature.
When steam ironing woolen fabrics, shiny patches may occur. This can be
prevented by turning the article inside out and ironing the reverse side.
Vertical Steam
Use to steam the creases out of curtains, hanging clothes etc.
1. Check there is water in the tank.
2. When the iron has reached the corrected temperature, pull the material slightly
with one hand and hold the iron upright with the other.
3. Tilt the iron forwards, then move it downwards approximately 10–15cm away
from the material pressing the steam button.
