3.0OPERATION

3.1SAFETYINSTRUCTIONS

ReadthismanualcarefullybeforeyouoperatetheIHSCraneScale.

 UnpacktheCraneScalecarefullyfromthepacking.

 Attach it to your hoist or equivalent existing equipment securely at the ground

level,intheuprightposition.Makesurethattheequipmenttowhichthescaleis

attached is in proper condition. The operator should be trainedforitssafe

operation.

 Carryoutregularvisualinspectionforanydamageorwearandteatonparts.

Particularlythesplitpinsatthehookandeyeboltsandtheinnerwallofthehook

andalljointsshouldbecheckedregularly.Ifanydamageorwearhastakenplace,

replacetheparts.

 Doallinspectionandmaintenanceworkwhenthescaleisnotinuse.

 Do not expose the scale to extreme temperatures. The operating temperature

rangeis0°Cto40°C.

 Securethesampletobeweighedinthehookofthescale.Ensurethatthesprung

SafetyLeverreturnstoitsrestingpositionwhichpreventsthesamplefromslipping

outofthehook.

 DonotexceedthemaximumcapacityoftheScale.

 Cleanandprotectyourscaleafteruse.

3.2BATTERYOPERATION

 The battery will operate continuously for 150 hours before requiring recharging.

Thescalewillalertyouwhenthebatteryiswithin10hoursofrequiringrecharging

bytheindicatorlampabovethelowbatterysymboltoindicatethatthebatteryis

lowvoltage.

 When the battery requires charging, the scale will turn off to prevent battery

damage.If the buttonis depressedat this point,the indicatorlampwillreappear

andthenthescalewillagaindeactivateautomatically.

 Chargingtimeforacompletelydischargedbatteryisapproximately16hours.Afull

batterypackisrecommendedtokeepthescalecontinuouslyoperational.

 The scale will automatically power down after 30 minutes of nonusetofurther

protectthebattery.



Note:Morefrequentchargingofthebatteryprolongsitslife.

3.3 CHARGINGBATTERY

 Plugthepowersupplyintothemainspower,thenintothebackoftheIHSscale.

 The red indicator lamp will illuminate to indicate that the batterychargeris

functioningproperly.

 Thegreenindicatorlampwillilluminatetoindicatethatthebatteryfullycharged.

3.4BASICOPERATIONS

Poweronandoff‐Press[On/Off]keytoturnonthescale.Thenthedisplayonthescalewill

show[88888].Pressagaintoturnoffthescale.



Zerothescale‐Depressthe[Zero]tore‐zerothereading.



Changedivision‐youcanusethe[Change/lb/kg]keytochangedivision.



Lb/kg‐youusethistoselecteitherlborkgweighingunits



Hold‐whenrequired,suchaswhenthereadingisnotstableoryoucannotpausetorecorda

reading,youcanusethe[Hold]keytolockthereading,sothatyoucanreaditeasilylater,

afteryoufinishreading,press[Hold]againtoreturntonormalweighingmode.

Note:The[Hold]keyhasnoaffectiftheHoldparameterhasbeendisabled.Seesection5.1



OverloadWarning‐:pleasedonotaddanyitemthatexceedsthemaximumcapacityofthescale.

Whenthebuzzerissoundedandthedisplayshows”-----”,removetheitemtoavoiddamagetothe

loadcellandscale.

3.4 REMOTECONTROLLER



Theremotecontrolworksviainfraredandcanbeusedtooperate

theSHSfromlongdistances.Itoperatesusing2xAAAbatteries

andthesecanbeexchangedbyunclippingacoverontherearof

theremotecontrolunit.

4.0CALIBRATION

 Hold[Zero]whenthescaleispoweredon.

 Thedisplayonthescalewillshow“SPAN”.Makesurethehookisemptyorhasthe

slingsorchainstobeusedinplace.SeeBelow.

 Depress the [Zero] button, the display on the scale will show “Set” then “0” and

then“0000.0”afterfewseconds.Zerocalibrationisnowcomplete.

 Entertheweighttocalibratewithbyusing[Hold]keytoincrementadigitthenthe

[Change/lb/kg]keytomoveitacrossthescreenleft.

 For example, the display on the IHS will display “3000.0” for a3toncalibration

mass.

 Add the calibrated mass on the hook, it the best that the mass is close to the

capacitywherepossible.

 Whenthescaleisstable,pressthe[Zero].Thedisplayshows‘HOLd’.

 Afterafewseconds,thecalibrationiscomplete.



**Tocalibrateinpounds(lb)makesurethatthescaleislbmodebeforecommencing,tocalibrate

inkilograms(kg)makesurethescaleisinkgmodebeforecommencing.

Whenusingslings,chainsorothermaterialtosupportthecalibrationmass,theseitemsshouldbe

hungfromthescalebeforesettingthezeropointsothatwhenthecalibrationmassisadded,only

theweightofthecalibrationmassismeasuredbythescale.

Ifanerrorisdetectedwhencalibratinganerrormessagewillbeshown.

Err3iswhenwrongdataisenteredforthemass,i.e.toosmallorwrongdivision.

Err‐5meansthecalibrationhasfailed.



5.0PARAMETER

5.1ENTERSETTINGMODE

Turnoffthepowerofthescaleandthenturnthepoweronagain.

Pressthe[Change/lb/kg]keyduringself‐checking,displayshows“Bee0“,indicatingthescalehas

enteredthesetting mode, pressthe[Hold]or [Change/lb/kg]keytoshifttheparameteritems.

Use[Zero]keyconfirmandescapefromsettingthecurrentitem.

WARRANTYSTATEMENT

Adam Equipment offers Limited Warranty (Parts and Labour) for anycomponentsthatfaildueto

defectsinmaterialsorworkmanship.Warrantystartsfromthedateofdelivery.



Duringthewarrantyperiod,shouldanyrepairsbenecessary,thepurchasermustinformitssupplier

orAdamEquipmentCompany.ThecompanyoritsauthorisedTechnicianreservestherighttorepair

orreplacethecomponentsatanyofitsworkshopsatnoadditionalcost,dependingontheseverityof

theproblems.However,anyfreightinvolvedinsendingthefaultyunitsorpartstotheServiceCentre

shouldbebornebythepurchaser.



Thewarrantywillceasetooperateiftheequipmentisnotreturnedintheoriginalpackagingandwith

correct documentation for a claim to be processed. All claims are at the sole discretion of Adam

Equipment.



Thiswarrantydoesnotcoverequipmentwheredefectsorpoorperformance is due to misuse,

accidental damage, exposure to radioactive or corrosive materials, negligence, faulty installation,

unauthorised modifications or attempted repair, or failure to observe the requirements and

recommendationsasgiveninthisUserManual.



Thisproductmayincludearechargeablebatterythatisdesignedtoberemovedandreplacedbythe

user.AdamEquipmentwarrantsthatitwillprovideareplacementbatteryifthebatterymanifestsa

defect in materials or workmanship during the initial period ofuseoftheproductinwhichthe

batteryisinstalled.

Aswithallbatteries,themaximumcapacityofanybatteryincludedintheproductwilldecreasewith

timeoruse,andbatterycyclelifewillvarydependingonproductmodel,configuration,features,use,

andpowermanagementsettings.Adecreaseinmaximumbatterycapacityorbatterycyclelifeisnot

adefectinmaterialsorworkmanship,andisnotcoveredbythisLimitedWarranty.



Repairscarriedoutunderthewarrantydonotextendthewarranty period. Components removed

duringwarrantyrepairsbecomecompanyproperty.



Thestatutoryrightsofthepurchaserarenotaffectedbythiswarranty.Thetermsofthiswarrantyis
