SelectingtheProperHeight-of-Cut
SettingtoSuittheConditions
Removeapproximately1inchornomorethan1/3
ofthegrassbladewhencutting.Inexceptionally
lushanddensegrassyoumayneedtoraisethe
height-of-cutsettinganothernotchorconverttoside
dischargeorbaggingoperations.
MowinginExtremeConditions
Airisrequiredtocutandrecutgrassclippingsinthe
mowerhousing,sodonotsettheheight-of-cuttoo
lowortotallysurroundthehousingbyuncutgrass.
Alwayshave1sideofthemowerhousingfreefrom
uncutgrass,allowingairtobedrawnintohousing.
Whenmakinganinitialcutthroughthecenterofthe
uncutarea,operatethemachineataslowerspeed
andbackupifthemowerstartstoclog.
MowingattheProperIntervals
Grassgrowsatdifferentratesatdifferenttimesof
theyear.Tomaintainthesamecuttingheight,mow
moreofteninearlyspring.Asthegrassgrowthrate
slowsinmidsummer,mowlessfrequently.Ifyou
areunabletomowforanextendedperiodduetothe
weatherconditionsorotherreasons,converttoside
dischargeorbaggingoptionsormowrstwithahigh
cuttingheight,thenmowagain2dayslaterwitha
lowerheightsetting.
MaintainingtheBlade(s)
Maintainasharpbladethroughoutthecuttingseason
becauseasharpbladecutscleanlywithouttearingor
shreddingthegrassblades.Tearingandshredding
turnsgrassbrownattheedges,whichslowsgrowth
andincreasesthechanceofdisease.Checkthe
mowerbladesaftereachuseforsharpness,and
foranywearordamage.Filedownanynicksand
sharpenthebladesasnecessary.Ifabladeis
damagedorworn,replaceitimmediatelywitha
genuinethemanufacturerreplacementblade.
CleaningafterOperating
Toensureoptimumperformance,cleantheunderside
ofthemowerhousing.Ifresiduebuildsupinthe
mowerhousing,cuttingperformancedecreases.
