Unpacking the appliance
This product has been packaged to protect it against transportation damage.
Unpack the appliance and remove all packaging materials from around the
oven and from inside the oven cavity.
Keep all packaging materials until you have made sure your new oven is
undamaged and in good working order. The carton is recyclable. Whenever
possible, reuse and recycle it when disposing of the packaging materials.
Plastic wrapping can be a suffocation hazard for babies and young children, so
ensure all packaging materials are out of their reach and disposed of safely.
WARNING!
This oven must be correctly installed by an appropriately qualified
electrician in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations and
following the instructions in this manual.
Do not try to install the oven yourself; doing so will expose you to danger and
void the warranty. Improper installation, adjustment, alteration or service can
cause injury or damage. We decline any responsibility for injury or damage,
to persons or property, as a result of improper use or installation.
Electrical connection: important advice for the installer
This appliance should be wired into a 16A double pole switched fused spur
outlet, having 3mm contact separation and placed in an easily accessible
position adjacent to the appliance. The spur outlet must still be accessible
even when the oven is located in its housing to enable the appliance to be
disconnected from the mains supply.
To connect the oven power cord, loosen and remove the cover on the
terminal block in order to gain access to the contacts inside. Make the
connection, securing the cord in place with the cable clamp provided and
then immediately close the terminal block cover again.
If you have to change the oven power cord, the earthing (yellow/green)
conductor must always be 10 mm longer than the line conductors.
Care must be taken to ensure that the temperature of the mains supply
cable does not exceed 50°C.
If the mains supply cable is damaged, then it must be replaced by an
appropriate replacement.

Introduction
This multi-function oven combines the advantages of a traditional convection
oven with those of the more modern, fan-assisted models in a single
appliance. It is an extremely versatile appliance that allows you to choose
easily between different cooking modes.
Before first use
Read: The best way to familiarise yourself with all the parts and operating
principles of your new electric pyrolytic oven is to read this manual. Pay
particular attention to the safety instructions on pages 5–7. Refer to pages
8–9 for a picture and list of all parts and buttons.
Clean: After the appliance has been properly installed, before rst use,
wipe the interior oven surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with warm
water and a little mild detergent to remove any dust from transport.
Wash: Remove and wash the oven shelf and baking/drip tray with warm
water and a little washing-up liquid. Dry and return to the oven. Leave the
oven door open until it is completely dry.
Initial use: Before using the oven for the rst time, we recommend you
burn off any dust, oil or other remnants from manufacturing or transport.
Set the oven function to F--3 (Multi-Cooking) and leave the oven on without
anything in it, with the oven door shut. Any smoke and odour during this
initial use is normal and completely harmless; ensure good ventilation.
Leave the oven on for approximately 30 minutes and when cooled, wipe
away any residue.
Basic usage advice: When grilling food, always place the baking/drip
tray on the bottom shelf of the oven to prevent any food or grease dripping
onto the bottom of the oven. For all other types of cooking, never use the
bottom shelf and never place anything on the bottom of the oven when it
is in operation because this could damage the enamel. Always place your
cookware (baking tin, roasting dish, foil containers etc.) on the oven shelf
provided; the side racks provide six height options.
CAUTION!
Take care to avoid burns, the oven becomes very hot during use.

Manual oven functions
Instructions (Cont.)
F--1 - Defrost mode
(fan only, no heat)
On this setting only the fan runs, without heat, to reduce the defrosting time
of frozen foods. It is particularly suitable for defrosting fruit and cakes. The
time required to defrost the food will depend on the room temperature, the
quantity and type of food. Always check food packaging for the defrosting
instructions of packaged food.
F--2 - Top heat
(top element only)
On this setting only the top heating element comes on. It is particularly
suitable for browning food at the end of cooking.
F--3 - Multi-cooking mode
(top + bottom + rear elements + fan)
On this setting the top, rear and bottom heating elements, as well as the
fan, will come on alternately. Since the heat remains constant and uniform
throughout the oven, the air cooks and browns food uniformly over its entire
surface. With this mode, you can also cook various dishes at the same time,
as long as their respective cooking temperatures are the same. A maximum
of two shelves can be used at a time.
This cooking mode is particularly recommended for dishes requiring a
gratin nish or for those requiring considerably prolonged cooking times, for
example, lasagna, pasta bakes, roast chicken and potatoes, etc. Because of
the excellent heat distribution, you can use lower temperatures when cooking
a roast on this setting, which means your roast loses less of its juices and
weight and remains more tender. The multi-cooking mode is also well suited
for cooking various types of sh, or vegetables such as eggplant, zucchini,
capsicum, which can be cooked fast using a limited amount of condiments,
thus maintaining their avour and appearance.
Moreover, this mode can also be used to thaw quickly white or red meat and
bread by setting the temperature to 80°C. To thaw more delicate foods, set
the thermostat to 60°C or use the Defrost mode (F--1).

1300 886 649
AUS MODEL: STR-APYRO PRODUCT CODE: 53038 03/2016
Instructions (Cont.)
F--8 - Baking mode
(rear element + fan)
On this setting the rear heating element and the fan come on, guaranteeing
that heat is distributed uniformly throughout the oven. This mode is ideal for
baking and cooking delicate foods, especially cakes that need to rise, and
for the preparation of certain tartlets on three shelves at the same time. Here
are a few examples: cream puffs, sweet and savoury biscuits, savoury puffs,
Swiss rolls, and small portions of vegetables au grain, etc.
F--4 - Full grill plus base heat
(full grill + bottom element)
On this setting the full grill and bottom elements are coming on, maintaining a
consistent temperature throughout the oven cavity. This is the ideal setting for
baking pies, giving a nice, crispy crust.
F--5 - Half grill plus base heat (half grill + bottom element)
This method of cooking uses the inner part of the top element and the bottom
elements to direct heat upwards to the food. It is perfect for slow-cooking
meats.
F--6 - Top heat plus fan
(top + rear elements + fan)
On this setting the top and rear elements come on as well as the fan. This is
ideal for reheating food and helping to keep warm already cooked foods.
F--7 - Pizza mode
(bottom + rear elements + fan)
On this setting the bottom and rear heating elements, as well as the fan,
will come on. This combination rapidly heats the oven. Due to the large
amounts of power used by the appliance, which results in the production of
considerable heat coming predominantly from the bottom element, this mode
is ideal for foods requiring high temperatures to cook, such as pizza and large
roasts.
Only use one oven tray or shelf at a time when cooking in pizza mode.
However, if you must cook on more than one shelf, it is important that you
switch the foods’ position halfway through the cooking process.

AUS MODEL: STR-APYRO PRODUCT CODE: 53038 03/2016
F-10 - Convection mode
(top + bottom elements)
This setting provides traditional oven heat from both the top and bottom
elements. It is the classic, traditional type of oven which has been perfected
with exceptional heat distribution and reduced energy consumption. The
convection oven is still unequalled for cooking meat stews based on beef,
pork or veal (such as goulash, chilli con carne, veal and mushrooms, ribs and
cabbage, etc.) and other mixed ingredient dishes which need to cook slowly
and require basting or the addition of liquid. Convection heat is also the
preferred oven mode for baking cakes and stewing fruit.
When cooking in convection mode, only use one baking/drip tray or oven
shelf at a time, otherwise the heat distribution will be uneven. Using the
different shelf heights available, you can balance the amount of heat between
the top and the bottom of the oven, selecting the shelf height based whether
the dish needs more or less heat from the top.
F--9 - Fast cooking mode
(top + bottom elements + fan)
On this setting the top and bottom heating elements, as well as the fan
will come on, guaranteeing that constant heat is distributed uniformly
throughout the oven. As preheating is not necessary, this mode is particularly
recommended for cooking ready-made, frozen food quickly, or for a few
homemade dishes that require fast cooking. For best result in fast cooking
mode, cook food on one level only (the second from the bottom).
Instructions (Cont.)
F-13 - Fast preheating
This setting helps to increase the oven temperature rapidly to 200°C.
F-11 - Grill and fan
(top element + fan)
This method of cooking utilises the top element in conjunction with the fan,
which helps provide a quick circulation of heat. This function is suitable where
quick browning is required and sealing in the juices of foods such as steaks,
minced meat patties, sausages and some vegetables, etc.
F-12 - Half grill (inner part of top element only)
On this setting only the inner part only of the top element will be working,
directing heat downwards onto the food. This setting is particularly suitable
for grilling small portions of bacon, toast and meat etc.
