All electricalwiring mustbe properlyinstalled,insulatedand grounded.Overlyaccumulated
greasein oldductworkshouldbecleanedoutorductworkshouldbereplacedif necessaryto
avoidthepossibilityof agreasefire.Checkalljointson ductwork toinsureproperconnection
andalljoints shouldbeproperlytaped.

Cleaning
Thesaturationof greasyresiduein the blowerandfiltersmaycauseincreasedflammability.
Keepunitcleanandfreeof greaseandresiduebuild-upat alltimestopreventpossiblefires.
Filtersmustbecleanedperiodicallyandfreefromaccumulationof cookingresidue(seeclean-
inginstructionsinside).Oldandwornfiltersmustbereplacedimmediately.Donotoperateblow-
erswhenfiltersareremoved.Neverdisassemblepartsto cleanwithoutproperinstructions.

CLEANING
SurfaceMaintenance:
Cleanperiodicallywith hotsoapywaterandcleancottoncloth.Donotusecorrosiveor abrasive
detergent,orsteelwool/scouringpadswhichwillscratchanddamagesurface.
Forheaviersoilusea liquiddegreasingcleaner.
Aftercleaning,youmayusenon-abrasivestainlesssteelpolish/cleaners,topolishandbuffoutthe
stainlesslusterandgrain.Alwaysscrublightly,withcleancottoncloth,andwith thegrain.Donot
useanyproductcontainingchlorinebleach.Donotuse"orange"cleaners.

CLEANING
ResidueCup:
Residueandgreasefromcookingwill collectintheresiduecuplocatedinsidetherangehood,
behindtheperforateddiffuserpanels.Periodically,cleanoutresidueincup.Cleanbyhandor in a
dishwasher.Spraydegreasingdetergentandleavetosoakif heavilysoiled.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
SELFCLEANFEATURE
UsingSelfCleaning:
Models UXT5230AD*& UXT5236AD*hoods aredesignedwith a self cleaning feature. Thecentrifugal
blower system automatically liquefies cooking residue accumulated in its internal housing,and
deposits the residue in the cleaning cup. Nevertheless,greasefrom cooking can alsodry and adhere
in the internal housing. Runningthe self clean function periodically will flush out accumulated
residue in the range hood's internal housing.
CleaningFrequency:
Cleaningshouldbecompletedapproximatelyoncea monthundernormaluse.
Detergent:
Non-corrosive,non-abrasivegreasecuttingspraydetergentsarerecommended.
SelfClean:
Turnbloweron lowestspeedforcleaning.
With nozzleon 'spray',squirt the greasecutting
detergent through the safetygrill,directly onto
blower blades 10-15 times.
Allowselfcleaningtocompletefor5 minutes,
turnbloweroff.
Removecleaningcup.Cleanw/mild detergent
or in dishwasherundernormalwashcycle.
