Always wear protective footwear. Never wear thongs or sandals.
Wear long pants.
Read the instruction manual prior to use, understand the controls. Learn how to stop the engine quickly in an
emergency.
Keep well clear of blade.
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating the mower. DO NOT use the
mower whilst tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while
operating may result in serious injury.
Always stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug lead before working on the machine.
Make sure the lawn is clear of loose debris, wire etc. before using the Mower.
Check all nuts and bolts and screws are tightened if necessary.
Do not use the machine near people or pets. (15 Metres)
Refuel outside only. Do not refuel near naked flames or people smoking. Always add fuel before starting the
machine, not whilst it is running or if the engine is hot. If fuel is spilled, move the machine away from the area
of spillage and wait until the fuel has evaporated from the machine before starting.
Avoid excessive noise by replacing worn or faulty silencer.
Only use the Mower when adequate lighting is available.
Start the engine carefully ensuring all body parts are clear of the blade or chains.
Ensure the machine is held firmly when starting as described in the “starting” section.
Never operate the machine in an enclosed space, where exhaust fumes can collect.
Never leave the machine running or unattended, always stop the machine.
Not to be used by children, or inexperienced operators.
Store the machine in a well-ventilated room away from naked flames.
Store fuel only in an approved container in a cool area.
Should the Mower vibrate ABNORMALLY-stop the engine, disconnect the spark plug and inspect the machine.
Always stop the engine when moving the machine from one area to another. Never push the Mower across
paths or driveways whilst it is running.
This Instruction manual includes the operation and maintenance of the Reel Mower. Please read and understand
this instruction manual prior to use.

1. Remove unit from cardboard box. Fig. 1
2. Remove top bolt from lower handle to fit upper handle. Refer to red circle in Fig. 2 (17mm Spanners).
3. Do not remove bottom bolt in lower handle. Refer to red circle in Fig. 3.
4. Insert upper handle onto lower frame bolt (Fig. 4a) and reinstall top bolt (Fig. 4b).

Fitting of Throttle Cable
1. Remove air filter cover. Refer to Fig. 5
2. Remove air filter. Refer to Fig. 6
3. Remove X2 screws from air filter base. Refer to red circles in Fig. 7
4. Remove air filter base. Refer to Fig. 8
5. When mounting up the throttle cable there is two options, Option 1- Z shape cable to be mounted in hole on
throttle linkage. Refer to red circle in Fig. 9. option 2 – Cut Z shape off throttle cable and mount into linkage
slot nut. Refer to red circle in Fig. 10
6. Clamp down throttle cable. Refer to red circle in Fig. 11
7. Reinstall air filter base, screws, air filter and air filter cover. (Check that air filter seal is in place. Refer to red
circle in Fig. 12)

Study safety instructions carefully before use

GETTING STARTED
1. Ensure mower is on level ground.
2. Fill the oil to the top of the crankcase with SAE 30 Engine Oil. Refer to Fig. 13
3. Fill the fuel tank with Unleaded fuel. Refer to Fig. 14
4. Check spark plug cap is connected.
5. Inspect all nuts, bolts, screws and tighten if required.
6. Fit catcher by hooking the base of the catcher over the support studs on the body of the mower. Refer to red
circles in Fig. 15 (more details on page 11)

STARTING
1. Ensure engine switch is “ON”. Refer to Fig. 16
2. Slide the throttle to Turtle position. Refer to Fig. 17
3. Slide the choke (A) to the “ON” position. Slide the fuel (B) to the “ON” position. Fig. 18.
4. Place left hand on the handle and pull the starter handle with right hand. Fig. 19.
5. After successfully starting the engine, slide the choke (A) to “OFF” position. Fig. 18.

MOWING
1. Lift the blade driver lever to engage position. Fig 20.
2. Squeeze the hand clutch to commence the rear drive roller. Fig. 21.

STOPPING
1. Slow the engine RPM back to Turtle on throttle control. Refer to Fig. 23
2. Release the hand clutch. Refer to Fig. 24
3. Disengage the blade driver lever. Refer to Fig. 25
4. Turn engine switch “OFF”. Refer to Fig. 26
5. Turn fuel off. Refer to Fig. 27

FITTING AND EMPTYING THE CATCHER
1. Ensure the engine is stopped prior to removing the catcher.
2. The grass catcher is fitted by holding the top of the drum and hooking the bottom section to the locating
pegs (A), the catcher then sits on the rubber stops (B) either side of the chassis. Fig. 28.
3. To remove the catcher, disengage the blade driver lever and stop the engine.
4. Lift the catcher from the top section and empty.
WARNING
Turn engine off before fitting or emptying catcher.

The angle of the grass deflector can be adjusted to direct the flow of the cut grass in to the catcher.
1. Loosen thumbscrews. Refer to red circles Fig. 29
2. Move the deflector up or down to alter the direction of flow.
3. Re-tighten the thumbscrews. Refer to red circles Fig. 29
1. The cutting height is adjusted with the front roller adjustment Fig. 30.
2. To raise the cutting height, turn the knob clockwise.
To lower the cutting height, turn the knob anti clockwise
WARNING
Ensure engine is stopped before making any adjustment. The engine
switch must be in “OFF” position and spark plug lead disconnected.

It will become necessary to reset the blade after continued use. The rotating blade is correctly adjusted when it is
lightly touching the bottom blade.
BLADE SETTING
1. Empty the fuel tank.
2. Ensure engine is switched off and spark plug lead is disconnected.
3. Tilt the mower back on its handles.
4. Slip a piece of paper between rotational blade and the bottom blade.
5. Turn the rotational blade. If the blade cuts the paper it is adjusted correctly.
6. Repeat the process at several points along the blade.
CHECKING THE BLADE SETTING

1. Loosen bolt on both sides of mower. Refer to red circles on Fig. 31 & Fig. 32.
2. Loosen nuts on bottom of adjustment screw. Refer to red circle on Fig. 33 & Fig. 34.
3. Turn the adjustment screw on both sides, to cause the rotational blade to make contact with the bottom
blade. The blade must only ‘just’ make contact, whilst still allowing it to rotate freely. Refer to red circles
Fig. 35 & Fig. 36.
4. Re-tight nuts. Fig. 33 & Fig. 34.
5. Re-tighten bolts. Fig. 31 & Fig. 32.
6. Test the cutting action with paper as previously described. Should the paper not cut satisfactorily, the
cylinder may need to be sharpened, please refer back to youtr local Supaswift dealer.
BLADE ADJUSTMENT
WARNING

After adjusting the blade, or as a maintenance procedure, the chain must be adjusted from time to time.
1. Remove chain cover screws. Refer to red circles Fig. 37.
2. Loosen lock nut. Refer to red circle Fig. 38.
3. Push the nylon chain adjusted up until there is a 5-6mm up and down movement in the chain. Refer to red
arrow Fig. 39.
4. Re-tighten the lock nut Fig. 38.
BLADE DRIVE CHAIN
WARNING
Ensure engine is stopped before making any adjustment. The engine
switch must be in “OFF” position and spark plug lead disconnected.

These 2 chains are adjusted together.
1. Loosen the two lock nuts. Refer to red circles Fig. 40.
2. Slide the large sprocket upwards until chain has 5-6mm up and down movement.
3. Re-lighten the lock nuts. Fig. 40.
1. Clutch-apply oil (1). Fig. 41.
2. Front roller (2) apply oil to shaft. Fig. 41.
3. Height adjuster knob - apply oil to shaft thread (3). Fig. 41.

MAINTENANCE
ENGINE:
Check the oil levels on the engine. Refer to owner’s manual.
GENERAL:
Regularly check and tighten all nuts and screws.
Remove grass from around bearings on blade shaft.
HANDLE ADJUSTMENT
1. Remove chain cover. Refer to Fig. 42.
2. Loosen four bolts on lower handle. Refer to Fig. 43.
3. Adjust handle to required height up or down. Refer to Fig. 44.
4. Re-tighten handle bolts and re-install chain cover.

The warranty for the engine used to power this machine may differ from the warranty for the
other components. Refer to the engine warranty statement in the Engine Owner’s Manual which has been included
with this machine. As the warranty may differ, you are advised to read the engine warranty carefully.
For other items, this warranty shall apply for a period of 4 years from date of purchase for domestic use and for 90
days for commercial use and hire.
This warranty does not obligate the manufacturer, his agents or dealers to bear the transport costs incurred in the
repair or replacement of any defective part. This warranty excludes fair wear and tear, or any damage caused by
misuse or abuse. Parts such as blades, blade bolts, V-belts, and spark plugs, which can be subjected to use beyond
their normal intended working capacity are also excluded.
This warranty is void if parts other than genuine have been used or if repairs or alterations have been made without
the manufacturer’s written authority.
Australian Consumer Law (REG. 90)
The benefits to the consumer given by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies of the consumer
under a law in relation to the goods or services to which this warranty relates.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled
to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or
damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and
the failure does not amount to a major failure.
The text above applies notwithstanding anything else expressed or implied to the contrary in this warranty
document.
REMEMBER: PROOF OF PURCHASE IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNER AND IS RECOMMENDED PRIOR TO
WARRANTY WORK BEING UNDERTAKEN. REPAIRS MUST BE CARRIED OUT BY AN AUTHORISED DEALER OR AGENT
AND GENUINE SPARE PARTS MUST BE USED OR YOUR WARRANTY WILL BE VOID.
