INTRODUCTION
Features
v Allows directly copying data from storage card to CD-R/CD-RW via a very simple operation without
connecting to computer.
v Allows playing movie DVD(DVD-Video), VCD(VideoCD 1.1, 2.0, & 3.0), SVCD(Super VideoCD),

INFO:BEFORE USING
Set Remote Controller Batteries
The MFR is equipped with a remote controller for users convenience. When the MFR is
connected to TV/projector, using the remote controller for operating is recommended.
The remote controller uses two AAA batteries for power supply. The batteries must be set before using
the remote controller.
3. Recover the battery cap, and the remote controller can work now.
Charging Li Battery Set
The MFR can use the Li battery set for independent power supply. The Li battery set must be charged
before using it for power supply.
4. While charging, the MFR can still work as usual.
2. Connect the DC power adapter from the MFR to the wall
outlet(100V-240V).
3. The LED indicator on the Li battery set will light until the charging
finishes.
1. Turn the remote controller over and remove the battery cap.
2. Insert the two AAA batteries into the battery socket.
1. Connect the battery set with the MFR.

Set NTSC/PAL System
The MFR can apply to two TV systems: NTSC and PAL. Refer to following instructions to adjust the MFR
for fitting your TV system.
1. Check out the manual of the TV/projector to know which system it belongs to.
2. Turn the MFR aside and adjust the NTSC/PAL
switch. You can use a needle or a pen as a tool.
Removing Li Battery Set
The MFR also can work only with connected DC power adapter instead of the battery set. To remove the
Li battery set, please refer to following instructions.
2. Push the locker of the Li battery set to BATTERY UNLOCK and
pull the Li battery set to take it off.
1. Turn the MFR over.
Power MFR ON/OFF
The MFR can be powered on/off by the power switch or the Power On button on the remote controller.
1. Connect the charged Li battery set or the DC power adapter to the MFR. (Connect the Li battery
set and the DC power adapter simultaneously is also acceptable.)
2. Push the power switch to ON.
3. When the power switch is on, you can use the remote controller to
turn MFR off and on again.
With only Li Battery set connected, using the power switch is recommended to save more power.
However, if you are using the DC power adapter for power supply, you can use the power switch or the
remote controller at your will.

Backup Data from Storage Card to CD-R/CD-RW
The MFR can backup data from storage card to CD-R/CD-RW without connecting to computer. Refer to
following instructions to learn how to use this function.
1. Power the MFR on.
2. Press the CD tray ejector to extract the CD tray and insert a CD-R/CD-RW into the tray; and then
push the tray back to close it. The MFR will load the disc automatically.
3. After the disc loading process(for about 10 seconds), insert the storage card that is going to be
backup.
The MFR allows backing up one card at one time, so please do not insert two cards
simultaneously.
4. Press the Key once to get ready to backup, and the LCM will show BACKUP? to confirm.
Press the Key once again to proceed and begin backup, or press the key to cancel the
process.
USAGE: STAND-ALONE
5. After the backup begins, you can read the information of burning process from the LCM.
6. The burning process is done, and the CD tray will extract the CD-R/CD-RW automatically.
The MFR supports multi-session burning. If there is still free space in the burned CD-R/CD-RW,
you can use it for backup again.
Backup Data from Storage Card to CD-R/CD-RW
MP3 Player
The MFR can play MP3 file in the card or in the disc just like a MP3 player. Refer to following instructions
to learn how to use this function.
1. Connect the headphone or speaker to the audio output of the MFR.
2. Power the MFR on.
3. Insert the storage card or the disc contains MP3 files. Using the card and the disc simultaneously
is not recommended. The MP3 files should be saved in the root directory of the card or the disc, if
those files are in any folder in the card or the disc, the MFR will not automatically find them.
4. Press the Key to start playing the MP3 files.
5. You can control the playing with the control panel or the remote controller.
CD Walkman
The MFR can play audio CD just like a CD Walkman. Refer to following instructions to learn how to use
this function.
1. Connect the headphone or speaker to the audio output of the MFR.
2. Power the MFR on.
3. Insert the audio CD you want to play.
4. The MFR will load and play the audio CD automatically.
5. You can control the playing with the control panel or the remote controller.

USAGE: ON TV/PROJECTOR
Connect MFR to TV Set or Projector
The MFR can play movie DVD, movie VCD, audio CD, Kodak Picture-CD, and JPEG/MPEG1/MPEG2/
MP3 files in the disc or in the storage card on TV or projector via AV connection. To connect the MFR to
the TV/projector, please refer to following instructions.
1. Connect the RCA cable from the video and audio output of the MFR to the video and audio
input of the TV/projector.
2. If the TV/projector is equipped with S-video input, you can connect the RCA cable from the audio
output of the MFR to the audio input of the TV/projector; and the S-video cable from the S-video
output of the MFR to the S-video input of the TV/Projector.
About the accurate location of the A/V input of the TV/projector, please refer to the manual of the
TV/projector.
Using Setup Menu
When the MFR is connected to TV/projector and powered on, you can use the setup menu any time.
Refer to following instructions to use the setup menu.
1. Connect the MFR to TV/projector and power them on.
2. Press the Menu button on the remote controller to enter the main page of the setup menu.
In this page, the firmware version of the MFR is shown in the corner. (The firmware version
shows only in English mode.) You can move the light bar by pressing / key.

Using Setup Menu
Setting TV Display Mode
1. Enter the setup menu and get into the general setup page.
2. Use the and key to move the light bar to TV DISPLAY, and then press the key to move
the light bar to the frame at the right side.
3. Move the light bar and then press the / key to make a selection.
4. After the selection is made, press key to move the light bar to the frame at the left side. To
setup OSD language, move the light bar to OSD LANG; to quit to the main page, move the light bar
to MAIN PAGE and press / .
3. To quit the setup menu, move the light bar to EXIT SETUP and press the / key; or press
the Menu key again in any page.
USAGE: ON TV/PROJECTOR
Setting On-Screen Display Language
1. Enter the setup menu and get into the general setup page.
2. Use the and key to move the light bar to OSD LANG, and then press the key to
move the light bar to the frame at the right side.
3. Move the light bar and then press the / key to make a selection.
4. After the selection is made, you will see all the text in the page turns to the selected language.
5. Press key to move the light bar to the frame at the left side. To setup TV display mode, move
the light bar to TV DISPLAY; to quit to the main page, move the light bar to MAIN PAGE and press
/ .
DVD Player
The same with a DVD player, the MFR can play movie DVD(DVD-Video), VCD(VideoCD 1.1, 2.0, & 3.
0), SVCD(Super VideoCD), Audio CD(CD-DA), and Kodak Picture-CD on TV/projector. To use this
function, please refer to following instructions.
3. After the disc loading process (for about 5 seconds), the MFR will play the disc automatically.
4. If the MFR did not play the disc automatically, press the / key to play the disc.
Play
1. Connect the MFR to TV/projector and power them on.
2. Press the disc tray ejector to eject the disc tray and insert the disc that you want to play.
USAGE: ON TV/PROJECTOR
Volume Control
1. While playing, the volume can be set by the remote controller. Press
the VOL+ key to turn the volume up, and press the VOL- key to turn
the volume down.
2. If you want to turn the volume off, press the MUTE key on the remote
controller. To turn the volume on, press the MUTE key or the VOL+/
VOL- key once again.
Goto Next/Previous Chapter
1. While playing, press the / key on the remote controller or
the control panel to goto next chapter or return to previous chapter.
Fast Forward/Backward
1. While playing, press / key on the remote controller to
make the playing fast forward/backward.
2. The speed of fast forward/backward changes by the times you press
the / key in the sequence of 1X(Normal), 2X, 4X, 6X, 8X,
and return to 1X at last.
3. While fast forward/backward, you can return to normal playing(1X) by
pressing the / key.
Zoom In
1. While playing, press ZOOM ON/OFF key on the remote controller to
zoom in display.
2. The display size of zoom in changes by the times you press the
ZOOM ON/OFF key in the sequence of 1X(Normal), 1.5X, 2X, 3X,
and return to 1X at last.
3. When the display is zoomed in, there must be some part of the
display out of the screen, so you can press the arrow key on the
remote controller moving the display to watch the hidden part.
USAGE: ON TV/PROJECTOR
Pause
1. While playing, press the key on the remote controller or the
key on the control panel once to pause playing.
2. To resume playing, press the or the key on the remote
controller; or the on the control panel once again.
Stop
1. While playing, press the key on the remote controller or the
control panel once to pause playing. In this status, you can resume
playing by pressing the key once.
2. Press the key once again to stop playing.
Attention!
1. While using the DVD player function, insertion of storage card will
make the MFR switch to media player mode automatically.
2. To return to DVD player mode, press the DVD MODE key on the
remote controller.
Goto Root Menu of Film
1. While playing, press key on the remote controller to enter the
root menu of the film.
USAGE: ON TV/PROJECTOR
Media Player
The MFR can play JPEG(.JPG)/MPEG1(.MPG)/MPEG2(.DAT)/MP3(.MP3) files in the disc or in the
storage card on TV/projector. Refer to following instructions to use this function.
Play JPEG File: Viewing
1. Connect the MFR to TV/projector and power them on.
2. Insert the disc or the storage card that contains JPEG files.
* The two card sockets cannot be used simultaneously, so please insert only one card at one time.
Otherwise, using the disc and the card simultaneously is not recommended.
3. After the insertion of the disc or the storage card, the MFR will show the contents in the disc or
the card automatically.
4. There would be a icon in front of the name of the JPEG file. Press the arrow key on the remote
controller to move the light bar to the file you want to play, and then press the / key to play
the file. If the file is in a folder, move the light bar to the folder and press / key to enter the
folder.
5. While playing, press the / or the / key to switch to the next or the previous file.
To quit viewing, press / .
USAGE: ON TV/PROJECTOR
Play JPEG File: Rotating
1. In the viewing frame of the file, press the or the key to rotate the picture clockwise
or counterclockwise in 90 degrees.
Play JPEG File: Zooming
1. In the viewing frame of the file, press the ZOOM ON/OFF key to activate the zoom function.
2. After the zoom function is activated, press the ZOOM OUT or the ZOOM IN key to zoom the picture
out/in from 25% to 200%.
3. When a picture is zoomed in, there must be some part of the picture out of the screen. Use the
arrow keys on the remote controller moving the picture to watch the hidden part.
4. When the zoom function is activated, the rotate function cannot work. Turn off the zoom function by
pressing the ZOOM ON/OFF key again to activate the rotate function.
USAGE: ON TV/PROJECTOR
Play JPEG File: Slide Show
1. Once entering a viewing frame, a slide show of all the pictures in the folder will be automatically
performed. You can pause the slide show by pressing / key on the remote controller or the
control panel.
2. There are 13 transition modes of slide show, press the TRANS MODE key on the remote controller
to activate it and select different modes. Using this function will make the slide show more fluently.
3. Press the REPEAT key on the remote controller twice(repeat folder) to repeat the slide show.
Play JPEG File: Thumbnail Mode
1. When the display shows a viewing frame or the contents of a folder contains JPEG files, press
key on the remote controller to enter the thumbnail mode.
2. All the JPEG files in the folder will list in the frame of thumbnail mode; 9 files per frame, press the
\ key to switch to next/previous frame. In every single frame, you can use the
arrow keys on the remote controller to select a file, and then press the \ key to view the
picture.
3. To quit the thumbnail mode, press / key.
USAGE: ON TV/PROJECTOR
Play MPEG/MP3 File: Playing
1. Connect the MFR to TV/projector and power them on.
2. Insert the disc or the storage card that contains MPEG/MP3 files.
* The two card sockets cannot be used simultaneously, so please insert only one card at one time.
Otherwise, using the disc and the card simultaneously is not recommended.
3. After the insertion of the disc or the storage card, the MFR will show the contents in the disc or
the card automatically.
4. There would be a icon in front of the name of the MPEG file and a icon in front of the
name of the MP3 file. Press the arrow key on the remote controller to move the light bar to the file
you want to play, and then press the \ key to play the file. If the file is in a folder, move the
light bar to the folder and press \ key to enter the folder.
5. While playing, press the \ or the \ key to switch to the next or the previous file.
Press the \ key to pause playing.
6. Once a file is played, the MFR will continue playing the following files in the folder. Press the
REPEAT key to select different repeat playing functions.
7. To quit playing, press \ .
Play MPEG/MP3 File: Other Functions
The other control functions of MPEG/MP3 playing, like Fast Forward/Backward, Volume Control,
etc., are very similar to the control functions of the DVD playing. Please refer to the chapter: DVD
Player for the instructions of using these functions.
