Withoutthegrassdeector,dischargecover,or
completegrasscatcherassemblymountedin
place,youandothersareexposedtobladecontact
andthrowndebris.Contactwithrotatingmower
blade(s)andthrowndebriswillcauseinjuryor
death.
•Neverremovethegrassdeectorfromthemower
becausethegrassdeectorroutesmaterialdown
towardtheturf.Ifthegrassdeectorisever
damaged,replaceitimmediately.
•Neverputyourhandsorfeetunderthemower.
•Nevertrytoclearthedischargeareaormower
bladesunlessyoumovethebladecontrolswitch
(PTO)todisengageandturntheignitionkeyto
off.Alsoremovethekeyandpullthewireoff
thesparkplug(s).
Note:Tousethemowerinsidedischargemode,onlythe
rightbafemustberemoved.Mountinghardwaremustbe
installedinopenholes.
1.Stoptheengineandremovetheignitionkey.
2.Removethe2knobsandcurvedwashersthatsecure
therightbafetothemower.
3.Removetherightbafeandlowerthegrassdeector
overthedischargeopening.
Important:Ensurethemowerhasahingedgrass
deectorthatdispersesclippingstothesideand
downtowardtheturf,whileinsidedischarge
mode.
4.Installthefastenersyouremovedpreviouslyintothe
holesinthetopofthemowertopreventyingdebris.

grassbladewhencutting.Inexceptionallylushanddense
grassyoumayhavetoraisetheheight-of-cutsettinganother
notchorconverttosidedischargeorbaggingoperations.
