The Trinamic TMC2226-SA is a single-axis stepper motor driver IC with an integrated microstepping interpolator, stallGuard2 load-detection, and StealthChop2 silent operation. It is ideal for applications that require precise and quiet motion control, such as 3D printers, CNC machines, and robotics.

The TMC2226-SA is easy to use and can be interfaced with a variety of microcontrollers. It supports a wide range of step resolutions, from full-step to 256-microsteps, and can drive motors with up to 2.0 A of current. The stallGuard2 load-detection feature allows the driver to detect when the motor is stalled or overloaded, and the StealthChop2 silent operation mode reduces motor noise and vibration.

5 General PCB Footprint and Packaging Information Resources
These guidelines and information are proposals and suggestions as they are proven and work well with
TRINAMIC modules. Some ICs are available in Tape & Reel and in IC trays.
5.1 Tape & reel
Tape & Reel are dependent on the package and will have the following dimensions like shown in Table 2.

5.3 Tray
The following figure 7shows common HTSSOP28 trays with their corresponding dimensions. It is capable
of a total cell count of 308 (14 x 22). Cells marked with a cross are for vacuum pickup area. The pin1
orientation of a IC is in the lower left of each cell.

5.4 Tray Box
Trays are packed in boxes like shown in the following figure 8.
