You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instruc-
tions are part of this product. They contain important information
on safety, usage and disposal. Before using the product, familiarize
yourself with all operating and safety instructions. Use the product
only as described and for the specified areas of application. Please
also pass on these operating instructions to any future owner.

This section contains important safety instructions for using the ap-
pliance. This appliance complies with statutory safety regulations.
Improper use may result in personal injury and property damage.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially when children are
present, basic safety precautions should always be followed,
including the following:

DANGER – As with most electrical appliances, electrical parts
are electrically live even when the switch is off:
To reduce the risk of death by electric shock:
1. Always "unplug it" immediately after using.
2. Do not use while bathing.
3. Do not place or store appliance where it can fall or be pulled
into a tub or sink.
4. Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid.
5. If an appliance falls into water, "unplug it" immediately.

WARNING – To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution, fire, or
injury to persons:
1. An appliance should never be left unattended when plugged
in.
2. Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used
by, on, or near children or individuals with certain disabilities.
3. Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in
this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by the
manufacturer.
4. Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or
plug, if it is not working properly, damaged, or dropped into
water.
Return the appliance to a service center for examination and
repair.
5. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Do not wrap the
cord around the appliance.
6. Never use while sleeping.
7. Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products
are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
8. Do not use an extension cord with this appliance.
9. This curling iron and clip are hot when in use. Do not let eyes
and bare skin touch heated surfaces.
10. Do not place the heated curling iron directly on any surface
while it is hot or plugged in. Use the stand provided.

SERVICING OF DOUBLE-INSULATED APPLIANCES
In a double-insulated appliance, two systems of insula-
tion are provided instead of grounding. No grounding
means is provided on a double-insulated appliance, nor
should a means for grounding be added to the appli-
ance. Servicing a double-insulated appliance requires
extreme care and knowledge of the system, and should
be done only by qualified service personnel.
Replacement parts for a double-insulated appliance
must be identical to the parts they replace.
A double-insulated appliance is marked with the words
"DOUBLE INSULATION" or "DOUBLE INSULATED".
ADDITIONAL SAFEGUARDS
Electrocution possible if used or dropped in tub.
Unplug after using.
Household use only.
Never use the appliance near water, and keep it away from
sinks, baths and other similar containers. The proximity of water
is hazardous, even if the appliance is switched off. Always
disconnect the plug from the electrical outlet after use.
Connect the appliance only to a correctly installed electrical outlet
providing electrical current at the level detailed on the rating plate.
Under no circumstances may the appliance be submerged in
liquids, or liquids be permitted to enter the appliance housing.
Do not expose the appliance to humidity or use it outdoors.
If any liquid gets into the housing, unplug the appliance immediately
and have it repaired by a qualified technician.

Unplug the appliance from the power socket if defective operation
is apparent and before cleaning it.
To disconnect the appliance, pull only on the plug itself, not on
the power cable.
Do not wrap the power cable around the appliance and protect
the cable from being damaged.
Never touch the appliance, the power cable or the plug with
wet hands.
Disconnect the appliance from the power source immediately
after use. The appliance is completely free of electrical power
only when you unplug it.
You must not open or repair the housing of the appliance.
This is unsafe and invalidates the warranty.
Children must not play with the appliance.
NEVER put the appliance down or leave it unsupervised when it
is switched on.
Never place the appliance close to sources of heat and protect
the power cable against potential damage.

Curling surfaces will be hot during use and may
cause burns. Place hot iron only on flat, non-flammable surfaces.
Do not leave unattended.

This product contains chemicals known to the
state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other
reproductive harm.
Important Cord Information
This appliance has a polarized plug. To reduce the risk of elec-
tric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only
one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the
plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord)
should be used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming
entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
Longer detachable power-supply cords or extensions cords are
available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.

If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord
should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
2) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the
countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or
tripped over unintentionally; and
3) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the cord set or extension
cord should be a grounding-type-3-wire cord.
Intended use
This appliance is intended for human hair care and only for use in
domestic households.
It is not intended for use on animals or in commercial or industrial
environments.
The appliance is not intended for any other purpose, nor for use be-
yond the scope described. No claims of any kind will be accepted
for damage arising as a result of incorrect use. The risk shall be
borne solely by the user.

The appliance is supplied with the following components as stan-

Check the package for completeness and for signs of visible
damage.
If the delivery is incomplete or damage has occurred as a result
of defective packaging or during transport, contact the Service
hotline (see section Warranty).
Unpacking
Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions
from the box.
Remove all packaging material.
RISK OF SUFFOCATION! Packaging materials
should not be used as a toy. There is a risk of suffocation.
Disposal of packaging materials
The packaging protects the appliance from damage during
transport. The packaging materials have been selected for their
environmental friendliness and ease of disposal, and are therefore
recyclable.
Returning the packaging into the material cycle conserves raw
materials and reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose
of packaging materials that are no longer needed in accordance
with applicable local regulations.

If possible, keep the appliance’s original packaging during the
warranty period so that the appliance can be packed properly
for return shipment in the event of a warranty claim.

Before use
Before using the appliance ensure that ...
the appliance is in good working condition
all packaging materials have been removed.
Wipe the appliance with a damp cloth and then dry it well.
This appliance is fitted with a safety switch-off.
After approx. 30 minutes, and without activation of the on/off
switch , the appliance switches itself off automatically. After
approx. 25 minutes the indicator light starts to flash to remind
you it is about to switch off automatically.
The safety switch-off is not intended to replace switching the
appliance off manually with the on/off switch ! It is only for your
safety, in the event that you forget to switch the appliance off!

Before styling
The hair should be clean, dry and free of styling products.
Special products which facilitate curling of the hair are excepted.
Comb the hair thoroughly before styling so that there are no
knots in it.
Divide the hair into manageable portions and pin the upper
portions to the head with grips so that they do not get in the
way.
Operation
Switching on and off
Insert the plug into a power socket.
Push the On/Off switch to the ON position. The indicator
light starts to flash. The appliance heats up. As soon as
the indicator light illuminates permanently, the heating
element has heated up.
When you have finished styling your hair, push the on/off
switch to the OFF position and disconnect the plug from
the wall socket.

Styling
Take care when handling the heated curling
iron. Do not touch the scalp or other parts of the body with the hot
heating element ! This could cause burns!
NEVER use the appliance to style hair pieces
or wigs made of synthetic material. These can be damaged by the
heat!
Style only human hair. Do not use the appli-
ance on animals.
When the appliance is heated-up:
1) Clamp the tip of the hair strand firmly onto the appliance using
the hair clip .
2) Then roll the heating element into the hair so that the hairs are
wrapped around the individual balls as well as in the grooves in
between.
3) Wait around 5 seconds in this position, unwind the heating ele-
ment from the hair strand and open the hair clip .
4) Proceed with the other strands in the same way.
5) Allow the curls to cool down before you continue styling the hair.
If you want to put down the appliance at any time during use,
simply fold out the stand back to the rear.

Cleaning and care
Before cleaning the appliance, always pull out
the plug from the power socket. There is a risk of electric shock!
Allow the appliance to cool fully before cleaning
it. Risk of burns!
Do not use any aggressive, abrasive or chem-
ical cleaning agents! These could damage the upper surfaces of
the appliance.
Clean the appliance only with a lightly moistened cloth.
Allow the appliance to dry completely before re-use or before
storing it.
Storage
You can also hang the appliance up by the hanger eye .
Store the appliance in a dry and dust-free location.
Disposal
Electrical devices may not be thrown away as part of normal
household trash. If you can no longer use your electrical device,
dispose of it in accordance with the legal provisions applicable in
your state. This will allow you to ensure that old electrical devices
are recycled and environmental pollution is kept to a minimum.

Warranty
What does this warranty cover?
The warranty covers:
Damage, breakage, or inoperability due to defect.
Damage not accounted by normal wear and tear or following
the safety and maintenance instructions provided in the user
manual.
What is not covered by the warranty?
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
Normal wear and tear of the product, including fragile parts
(such as switches, glass, etc.);
Improper use or transport;
Disregarding safety and maintenance instructions;
Accidents or acts of nature (eg., lightening, fire, water, etc.).
Tampering with the product (such as removing cover, unscrew-
ing screws etc.)
What is the period of coverage and warranty resolution?
The warranty is for 3 years from the date of purchase. At our dis-
cretion, product will either be refunded or replaced.
What will we not do?
We will not:
Start a new warranty period upon product exchange;
We will not repair product.
