Your Chariot trailer is shipped 99% assembled. Initial assembly takes a few minutes. After that, folding and unfolding can be done in seconds.

Note:Note: Any reference to orientation (left or right) is from the trailer passengers point of view, while in the trailer.

A.A. BODY ASSEMBLYBODY ASSEMBLY

1.1. Remove the wheels, the hitch arm, and the high visibility flag from inside the trailer body.

2.2. Stand at the back of the trailer body. Grab the upper frame and pull up until it stops.

3.3. Reach into the back flap and pull back on the inner bar until it "snaps" all the way back over center. Figure 1.Figure 1.

Hint:Hint: Use your hip or knee for leverage to help "pop" the trailer into its full upright position.

4.4. Insert both securing pins (hanging by straps attached to the frame) through both holes on the inner pivot brackets. Figure 2.Figure 2.

1.1. Fasten the red reflector through the grommet on the lower rear panel of the trailer and one orange reflector onto each wheel.

Failure to read, understand and follow these instructions may result in an otherwise avoidable accident. You or you passengers could be seriously

injured or die.

In addition to your usual safe bicycle practices, the rules listed below must be followed at all times.

Articles carried in the trailer should be well anchored to avoid shifting during travel. Unstable loads and overloading make the trailer less stable and

more difficult to control.

Periodically check placement of shoulder straps, especially for a sleeping child. Make sure children cannot put fingers into the wheel spokes.

Attaching a trailer can change the balance of the bicycle making kickstands ineffective. The bicycle can fall over, damaging it and the trailer.

Periodically check the hitch for damage, cracks, etc. Replace at first sign of damage. Any damage / deterioration on any parts of your Chariot carrier should be

repaired / replaced immediately to reduce the risk of personal injury.

B.B. Fabric/Shell CareFabric/Shell Care

Your Chariot trailer is manufactured from a tough, durable, water resistant fabric. Clean fabric with household soap or mild detergent and warm water only. Wipe

dry. Do not machine dry.

C.C. WheelsWheels

Wheels should be serviced by a Chariot dealer at least twice a year. Check wheels for loose spokes and proper alignment every time you use your Chariot trailer.

D.D. StorageStorage

Store your trailer in a dry, well-ventilated area. To avoid mildew, make sure trailer is dry before storingTo avoid mildew, make sure trailer is dry before storing . Keep your trailer out of the sun when not in use to reduce

fading. Do not store the trailer attached to your bike.

1.1. Insert hitch arm straightstraight into the 'left' hitch arm attachment bracket. Figure 4.Figure 4.

When inserted properly the end cap on the hitch arm should be seen from the back of the hitch arm attachment bracket.

2.2. Insert safety snap pin up through the holes in BOTH the hitch arm attachment bracket and the hitch arm.

4.4. Secure the secondary safety strap from the hitch arm attachment bracket to the D-ring on the hitch

1.1. Assemble safety flag by inserting one end of pole into the other.

1.1. Place the fully opened hitch under the chainstay on the left side of the bicycle as far back as possible with the jaw assembly

clamping the chainstay so that both rubber strips on the hitch assembly fully contact the chainstay. Pivot the quick release lever bolt

so that it is angled upwards. Figure 6.Figure 6.

2.2. With the quick release lever bolt angled upwards, tighten the lever by rotating the lever in a clockwise direction until the bolt cannot

be lowered into the notch when the lever is vertical. Loosen the quick release lever (counter-clockwise) one revolution at a time until

the bolt fits snugly into the notch when the lever is vertical. Figure 7.Figure 7.

3.3. With the quick release bolt all the way into notch, pivot the quick release lever all the way down towards the body of the hitch until

the lever locks (i.e. the locking pin on the right side of the lever pops out). Ensure that the lever is locked in place by trying to lift

4.4. Wrap the backup safety strap around the chainstay and attach the clip to the D-ring on the hitch arm. Figure 9.Figure 9.
