Operating the Walkie−Talkies

An exception here is CTCSS code 0 (zero). When this
setting is set, all calls made on the channel set can be
heard. In order to participate in the radio communica-
tion, you must set the corresponding CTCSS code.
Scanning for a channel
Signals are searched for in the eight channels in a continuous cy-
cle. The
icon appears in the display. If an active channel is de-
tected, the channel scan stops. The red LED flashes once per
second. Press the P button to enable radio communication.
When no signal has been transmitted on the channel for five se-
conds, the channel scanning is continued.
Starting/Stopping global channel scanning
Set the CTCSS code of the output channel to 0 (zero). The scan-
ning routine stops at every channel on which a signal is received
regardless of the CTCSS code transmitted with the signal. Set
the CTCSS code to 1 − 38 in order to exclude CTCSS code 0
(zero) for the scan.
Start/End channel scanning
The output channel is the channel which is set when the
channel scan is activated.
Scanning for a specific channel (channel group)
The scan routine only stops when a signal is received on a chan-
nel in a channel group you defined previously.
If no channel was defined for the channel group or the
only channel defined is also the output channel, the
scanning function operates as with global channel
scanning".
