RAISING/LOWERING THE DETHATCHER
Toraisethedethatcherfortransport,liftuponthe1.
frontofthedethatcherandsecureitwiththetransport
orSMARTSweephook.Lowerthedethatcherby
releasingthehook.
SETTING THE OPERATING POSITION
Theoperatingheightofthedethatcheriscontrolled1.
bythegaugewheelatthefrontofthedethatcher
andisnotadjustable.Thecorrectwheelposition
wasdeterminedingure2whenyouassembledthe
wheel.
Setthesweepertothedesiredoperatingheight.(The2.
bestheightisusuallywiththebrushessetabout1/2"
downintothegrass.)Refertoyoursweeperowner's
manualforsweeper.
USING THE DETHATCHER
Regularremovalofthatchiscriticaltothemaintenanceof
ahealthylawn.Thatchislayerofstems,clippings,runners,
rootsandleavesthathavenotdecayed.Excessivethatch
prevents air, waterandfertilizerfromreachingtheroots.
The dethatcher will effectively dislodge excessive thatch
fromyourlawn.
Startwiththetractorinlowgear.Varytheforward1.
speedtodeterminethebestspeedformaximum
dethatcherperformance.
Useacrisscrosspatterntoachievethemosteven2.
removalofthatch.
Onslopes,alwaysoperateinanupanddown3.
directiononly.
Avoidextremelysharpturns.4.
Avoidtowingthedethatcheracrosssuddensteep5.
dipsinthegroundwhiledethatching.Lossofground
contactwiththegaugewheelcouldcausethe
dethatchertobepulledbackunderneaththesweeper.
MAINTENANCE

tightness.
Cleanaftereachusetohelppreventrust.2.

STORAGE
