Foracollectionofobjectsorpieces(eachpiecehavingthesameweightasthenext),theSC600
can calculate the number of these objects in a collection. A group of pieces can be used as a
sampleexampleingroupsof10,20,50,or100pieces.
1. Prepare a
group of pieces (ina groupsize of10, 20, 50,or 100pieces). This will be the
‘standard’ that the SC600 uses to count subsequent collections of pieces. Do not place
anypiecesonthescaleyet.
2. WiththeSC600poweredOFF, pressandholdtheCALbutton
whileswitchingtheSC600
ON
3. HoldtheCALbuttonuntilonebeepisheard
4. Thedisplaywillcountdown to zero andthebottomofthedisplaywillshowtheCOUNT
andPCS(pieces)icons
5. The display will scroll through the group sizes (10, 20, 50, and 100)
one group size per
second
6. Placethegroupofpieces(fromstep1)ontotheweightplatform
7. PresstheCALbuttonwhentheappropriategroupsize(10,20,50,and100)isdisplaying.
Thedisplaywillflashtwiceandfreezethegroupsizenumber.
8. Removethegroup
ofpiecesfromtheplatform.TheSC600isnowreadyforcounting.
9. Place anunknown number of pieces (of thesame weight asthe ones from step 1) and
theSC60willdisplaythenumberofpiecespresentlyontheplatform.
ChangetheCountSampleNumber
1. RemoveallitemsfromtheSC600platform
2. Press the CAL button once; the display will scroll the piece group sizes (10, 20, 50, and
100)oncepersecond
3. Place a group of pieces (10, 20, 50, or 100) onto the weight platform and
when the
numberontheSC600displaymatchesthenumberofpiecesontheplatformpresstheCAL
button
4. Thedisplaywillflashtwiceandfreezethecountnumber
5. Removethegroupofpiecesfromtheplatform.TheSC600isnowreadyforcounting.
6. Placeanunknown
numberofpieces(ofthesameweightastheonesfromstep3)andthe
SC60willdisplaythenumberofpiecespresentlyontheplatform.
CounterOperationConsiderations
Theonepieceweightshouldbelargerthan0.1gotherwiseerrorsmayoccurincounting.The
accuracyofthecounterdependsonthenumberofunitscounted.Itisstrongly recommended
thatmoresamples,forexample50unitsormore,becountedforthebestaccuracy.
