1.ParktheWorkmanvehicleonalevelsurface
andengagetheparkingbrake.
2.Starttheengineandmovethehydraulicliftlever
tolowerthebeduntilthecylindersareloosein
thebedslots.
3.Releasetheliftlever,shutofftheengine,remove
thekey,andwaitforallmovingpartstostop
beforeleavingtheoperator’sposition.
4.Removethelynchpinsfromtheouterendsof
thecylinderrod-clevispins(Figure3).

uid.Thisuidprovidesgearandbearing
lubricationaswellasuidforoperatingthe
hydraulicsystem.
Whentheremotehydraulicsystemquickcouplers
areconnected,hydraulicuidowsfromthe
machinetothevehicle.Ifthehydraulicuidinthe
machineisnotthesameorequivalenttotheuid
inthevehicle,componentdamagetothetransaxle
orhydraulicsystemmayresult.
1.Checkthehydraulicuidlevel;refertothe
OperatorsManualforyourmachine.
Addhydraulicuidasneeded.
2.Startthevehicleengine.
3.Movetheremote-hydraulicsleverofthevehicle
totheRUNposition.Thebeltandbrushshould

safeslopeoperation.Operatingthemachineon
anysloperequiresextracaution.
Theoperatormustevaluatethesiteconditions
todetermineiftheslopeissafeformachine
operationincludingsurveyingthesite.Always
usecommonsenseandgoodjudgmentwhen

1.Sitontheseatandengagetheparkingbrake.
2.DisengagethePTO(ifsoequipped)and
movehandthrottlelevertoOFFposition(ifso
equipped).
3.Placetheremotehydraulic-valvehandleforthe
WorkmanvehicleintheOFFposition.
4.Setthetransmissionasfollows:
IfyourWorkmanvehiclehasamanual
transmission,movetheshiftlevertothe
NEUTRALpositionandpresstheclutchlever.
IfyourWorkmanvehiclehasaautomatic
transmission,movetheshiftlevertothe
PARKposition.
5.Insertthekeyandrotateitclockwisetostartthe
engine.Releasethekeywhentheenginestarts.
6.Practicestarting,driving,andstoppingthe
Workmanvehicle.Alwaysreadandunderstand
theOperator'sManualfortheWorkmanvehicle
beforeusingthismachine.
7.Checkforsmoothoperationofbeltbefore
addingmaterialinthehopper.
8.Placesandorothertopdressingmaterialinthe
hopper.Themaximumvolumeofmaterialthat
canbeputintothehopperis0.5(18ft³).
Generally,sandweighs1.6kg/L(100lb/ft³)
andcouldoverloadtheWorkmanvehicleifmore
than635to680kg(1400to1500lb)areloaded
intothehopper.
Important:Whenanyotherattachments,
suchastheH.D.Hitchframe,areinstalled
ontheWorkmanvehiclewhileusingthe
topdresser,theweightofthoseattachments
mustbesubtractedfromthepayload
capacityofthehopper.
Amethodfordeterminingthetotalweightofyour
attachmentswouldbetoplacethereartireson
ascale.Themaximumweightcapacityofthe
rearaxleoftheWorkman3000/4000series
vehicleis1179kg(2600lb)and1372kg(3025
lb)fortheWorkmanHDseriesvehicle.

certainlimitations,youmayusethemachinetoapply
asalt/sandmixtureonpavementforicecontrol.The
PVCconveyorbeltmaterialbecomesverystiffincold
weatherandrequiresmorepowertooperatebelt.The
lifeofthebeltisreducedbyapproximately50%when
operatedbelowtemperaturesof40°F .(5°C).
Important:Donotoperatethetopdresserduring
temperaturesof-7°C(20°F)orlower.
