CAUTION: The lamp fixture is designed to be mounted so that the
motion detector controls face towards the ground. If the lamp fixture
is mounted in any other position, it may be possible for water to enter
the unit and cause damage to the unit and cause possible electric
shock. Make sure the controls are facing towards the ground!
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
Allow batteries to charge a minimum of 72 hours in the OFF mode
before set up of the motion detector. Set the OFF / AUTO switch to
AUTO before beginning motion detector set up.
The control knobs are:
1. TIME/TEST
2. SENSITIVITY
SET THE CONTROL KNOBS
Before aiming the head, set
the control knobs for testing as follows. Turn the TIME knob fully
counterclockwise to TEST. Turn the SENSITIVITY knob fully clockwise
to greatest sensitivity. Make sure the wall switch is in the ON position.
Make sure the motion detector head is not UPSIDE DOWN! The control
knobs should face the ground. You are now ready to aim the motion
detector head. BLUE INDICATOR LIGHT This unit has a blue indicator
LED behind the forward lens to show when motion has activated the
detector to indicate that the motion detector is working properly.
1. TIME/TEST
The TIME/TEST knob is used to switch into the TEST mode and to set
the ON time the lamps will stay on, after motion is detected, while in
the SECURITY mode. When switching to TEST Mode, a photocell is built
into the TIME/TEST knob and automatically shuts off the light during
daylight hours. In TEST mode the photocell is turned off so the light
can come on during daylight hours for testing your desired coverage
area. To enter TEST mode, turn the knob fully counterclockwise so that
the pointer is aimed at the word “TEST. To depart from test mode,
turn the knob clockwise away from the TEST position. Note: When the
TIME/TEST knob is set to TEST, the light will come on after motion is
detected and will then shut off after about 4 seconds of ON time. The
maximum ON time after motion stops is 3 minutes with the TIME knob
turned fully clockwise.
2. SENSITIVITY
The SENSITIVITY knob adjusts the fixtures sensitivity to motion. Turn
the knob clockwise to increase sensitivity and counterclockwise to
reduce the sensitivity. The most common setting is fully clockwise for
maximum sensitivity.

FORWARD LOOKING LENS
Start by aiming the motion detector head downward. The motion
detector can see above the hood line so aim the head lower than you
think you will need. Walk in the area to be tested. When motion is
detected as you walk within the area, the lights will come on. Move to
a different spot in the area to be tested and stop all motion for about
8 seconds. The lights should turn off. Start walking again to see if
your motion is detected in the new spot. Repeat the walk test in other
spots of the desired coverage area to determine the coverage area. If
greater range is desired, raise the motion detector head slightly and
walk test the coverage area again. Your motion detector looks for
motion in 3 different regions pictured in Figures 3 the far region,
mid region, and near region. Be sure to walk through the entire area
to test for coverage in all regions.
LOOK DOWN LENS
The LOOK DOWN LENS mounted on the bottom of the motion head
provides enhanced rear detection. This feature is exceptionally
useful as it provides activation from multiple directions for enhanced
coverage.
CAUTION: Part of the far region looks above the hood line, so do
not aim the head too high. Aiming the head too high can lead to false
activations.
WALK-TESTING THE COVERAGE AREA:
To test the area covered by the motion detector, first switch to TEST
mode by turning the TIME knob to the TEST position. Make sure the
Mode Select knob is pointing to SECURITY. Walk in the area to be
tested. When your motion is detected, the light will come on. Move to
a different spot in the area to be tested and stop all motion until the
light turns off (about 8 seconds). Start walking again to see if your
motion will activate the light.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Your outdoor motion detector lighting fixture requires very little care
and maintenance. Simply clean the glass and coated metal surfaces
with a non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use any cleaners with chemicals,
solvents or harsh abrasives. The motion detecting lens is coated with
a specialy painted finish and requires special care when cleaning. Use
only a soft dry cloth to dust or wipe the lens area. Another area that
will need special attention
is the photocell window
located right next to the
TIME/TEST knob. The
photocell detects light
through this small window.
Keep this area clean to
prevent dirt from collecting.
Excessive accumulation of
dirt or dust on the photocell
window may cause the
lights to come on during the
day.
Changing the battery
If or when the battery
needs to be replaced,
unplug solar panel cable
and remove the unit from
the wall. See installation
Step 1. Remove the four
screws holding the back
plate and open the unit.
This fixture is provided
with a 6volt - 4.5 AH lead
acid battery and a 6 V /
4.5 AH is the minimum
battery required. The battery can be replaced with up to a 6 V /
6.0AH lead acid battery for better performance. See Fig. 4 & 5. When
