Theinternalbatterycompartmentaccepts4“C”cellbatteries.Besuretouse
highqualitybrandnamealkalinebatteries.Installbatterieswithcorrect
polarity(+/‐)asnotedinsidethebatterycompartment.
12VLeadAcidExternalBattery
Thecameraisequippedwithanexternalpowerjackdesignedtoaccepta
barrelplugcablethatattachestoasealedleadacidbattery.(Soldseparately).
Thiswillenhancethecamera’sfieldlife.Batterycableandcomplete12V

2. InserttheexternalbatterybarrelplugintotheDC12Vjackonthebottom
ofcamerahousing.
WARNING: Do not use different Voltage lead acid battery other than the
one specified in this section. Doing so will damage the camera and will
void the warranty.
WARNING: ALWAYS have the camera in the OFF position when installing
or removing batteries and memory card. Removing batteries or memory
card while the camera is ON it may damage the camera.

connected,eveniftheinternalbatteriesareinstalled.
NOTE:Pleasemakesurethevoltageandpolarity(+/‐)arecorrectbefore
connection.Incorrectvoltageorpolarity(+/‐)willdamagethecamera.
Whenbothinternalandexternalbatteriesareconnected,thecamerawill
drawpowerfromthehighervoltagesourcefirst.
MemoryOptions
Thecameraisalsoequippedwithanexpandablemediacardslotcapableof
acceptingupto16GB*SDcard(soldseparately).Withnomemorycard
insertedintotheslot,thecamerawillusethebuiltinSDRAMmemoryto
storeimages.IfanSDcardisinsertedintotheslot,thenthecamerawill
bypassthebuiltinmemoryandutilizetheSDmemory.Thefrontcounter
displaywillshowthenumberofimagesinthebuiltinmemory,unlessthe
expansioncardisinsertedatwhichpointthefrontcounterwillonlydisplay
thenumberofimagesstoredintheexpansioncard.
WARNING: The above camera will not accept any High Speed memory
cards. Common verbiage that will indicate High Speed includes but is not
limited to: Extreme, Ultra, Optima, Micro, Platinum, Store and Shoot.

• InsertSDmemorycardintotheSDcardslotcompletelyandinthe
correctdirection,asshownbythepictureshownontheOpenView
imageabove(seepage5).
• ToremovetheSDmemorycard,depresstheSDcardandpulloutthe
cardgently.
• SDcardsmustbeclean(noimagesfromothersources).Ifyouareusing
theSDcardfromothercameras,pleasemakesuretoformattheSDcard
inyourcomputerpriortouseinthecamera.Newcardsaregoodtouse
straightfromthepackage.
• IfinstalledSDcardislocked,camerawillshowLOConthedisplay,please
slidethelockswitchtounlocklocationthenreinstalltheSDcard.
FORMAT–Definition:WhenyouformataSDmemorycard,theoperating
systemerasesallinformationandfilesonthecard.Thenitcreatesaninternal
addresstablesthatitlaterusestolocateinformationandfiles.Formatting
alsoremovesallHiddenSystemfilesaswell.BasicallyitcleansyourSD
memorycardjustlikeifitwasbrandnew.Pleasemakesuretofollowthe
guidelineslistedbelow:
SDCardsize:2GBorbelow,formatusingFileSystemtype“FAT”.
SDCardsize:4GBorabove,formatusingFileSystemtype“FAT32”.

• Timeout:TosettheamountoftimethecamerawillsleepbetweenPIR
triggering.

• Resolution:Theresolutionselectionthatyouhavechosen.
