Regularly clean the appliance using a cloth and a solution of warm water,
with some soft detergent, suitable for cleaning the inside of the
refrigerator compartment. Do not use abrasive detergents. To ensure
continuous and correct flow of defrost water, regularly clean the inside of
the draining hole on the back of the refrigerator near the fruit and
vegetable drawer, using the tool provided (see figure).
MAINTENANCE AND
CLEANING APPLIANCE
Connect the appliance to the electric power supply. The ideal temperatures for preserving food have
already been set at the factory.
The acoustic signal indicates that the temperature alarm has been activated: press and hold down the
"Acoustic alarm deactivation" button. Where applicable, insert the anti-bacterial and anti-odour filter
into the fan as indicated on the filter package (see Refrigeration Compartment section).
Note: After switching the appliance on, it will be necessary to wait for 4/5 hours before a temperature
suitable for a standard appliance load is reached.
FIRST USE
Compared with traditional light bulbs, LEDs are longer lasting, improve
internal visibility and are more environmentally friendly.
To replace LED lights contact our After-sales Service.
LED LIGHTS (depending on the model)
REPLACING THE LAMP
(depending on the model)
Before replacing the lamp disconnect the appliance from the
electric power supply.
1. Loosen the screw and remove the light diffuser.
2. The lamp inside the appliance has a bayonet mount; it
does not need unscrewing and should be removed by pulling
as shown by the arrow.
After replacing the lamps refit the diffuser and wait 5 minutes
before reconnecting the appliance.
Replace the lamp with one of the same type, available from our After-sales Service, or from authorised
dealers.
2
Disconnect the appliance from the power supply. Empty, defrost and clean the appliance. Keep the doors
slightly open so that air can circulate inside the compartments. This will avoid the formation of mould and
bad odours.
PREPARING THE APPLIANCE IN
FOR NON USE
Keep the doors closed. This will ensure that any food is kept cold for as long as possible. Do not refreeze
partially thawed food. In case of prolonged power cut, the black-out alarm may activate (depending on
model).
IN CASE OF POWER CUTS
It is important to pack foods to prevent water, humidity or condensation reaching them. This will avoid
the formation of odours or smells inside the appliance and ensure better preservation of the foods. Do not
place hot food inside the appliance. This will save on energy consumption and will extend the duration of
the appliance.
Note: Ambient temperature, frequency of door opening and position of the appliance can affect the
temperature inside the two compartments. Set the temperatures based on these factors.
STORING FOOD
The refrigerator compartment is used for the storage of fresh food and beverages.
Refrigerator compartment defrosting is fully automatic.
Droplets of water on the rear wall inside the refrigerator compartment indicate that automatic defrost is
in progress. The defrost water is automatically channelled through a drain hole and collected in a
container, where it evaporates.
Warning: The refrigerator/freezer accessories must not be placed in a dishwasher.
Fan and anti-bacterial and anti-odour filter (depending on model)
The fan ensures a more even distribution of the temperature inside the refrigerator compartment,
resulting in a better preservation of food and reduction of excess humidity. Do not obstruct the ventilation
area. The fan will come on automatically whenever necessary.
REFRIGERATOR COMPARTMENT
3
The freezer compartment is used to preserve frozen foods and to freeze fresh food.
Defrosting of the freezer compartment is fully automatic.
The quantity of fresh food that can be frozen in a 24 hour period (using the "Fast Freeze" function - se
Quick Guide) is given on the rating plate. To freeze fresh food, this must be first placed on the top drawer
or upper shelf, leaving sufficient space around the packs for the air to circulate freely.
It is recommended that partially thawed food is not frozen again. Do not place food to be frozen in
contact with already frozen food. When high quantities of food are being frozen, the temperature alarm
may come on.
Removing the drawers (depending on the model)
Pull the drawers out as far as they go, then lift slightly and remove.
Note: To maximise the inside space, the freezer compartment may also be used without the upper
drawers. However, the bottom drawer must not be removed. After placing food on racks and shelves,
ensure that the door closes properly.
Making ice cubes
Fill the appropriate container (if present) to 2/3 and place in the freezer compartment. Under no
circumstances, use sharp or pointed objects to detach the container.
