4. USE
OPERATION
Fig. 1
To start the machine, simply push the on/off switch (1).
The rotation speed is increased by increasing the
pressure on the switch. Release the switch to stop.
DIRECTION SWITCH
Fig. 1
With the direction switch (2) you can change the
rotation direction from clockwise and
counterclockwise.
Always check the direction of rotation before
operation.
Only switch the direction of rotation when the
machine has stopped completely; otherwise the
machine can be damaged.
FUNCTION SELECTION SWITCH
(Fig. 2)
a. Rotation with hammering
For drilling concrete, masonry etc., depress the lock
button and rotate the selection switch in vertical
position.
• Position the bit at the location for the hole, then push
the on/off switch
• Do not force the tool: light pressure gives the best
result.
• Keep the tool in position and prevent it from slipping
away.
• Remove the machine regularly from the hole during
drilling, so chips and grit will come out.
b. Rotation only
For drilling in wood, metal or plastic materials, depress
the lock button and rotate the selection switch
counterclockwise.
• Use the drill chuck assembly (see “inserting and
removing a bit”)
• The maximum drill diameter is 13 mm in metal and
27 mm in wood
c. Hammering only
For chipping, scaling and demolition operations, depress
the lock button and rotate the selection switch
clockwise. Use a cold chisel or scaling chisel.
• Hold the tool firmly with both hands
• Apply slight pressure on the tool to maintain good
control on it.
d. Bit angle (when hammering)
During hammering, the angle of the chisel might be not
correct.
Be sure that the battery is removed, before change
the angle
• To change the angle, depress the lock button and
rotate the selection to this position.
• Turn the bit to the desired angle.
• Rotate selection switch back in position for
hammering.
Do not rotate the selection switch when the
machine is running under load, otherwise the
machine can be damaged.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
The enclosed battery charger has been exclusively
designed for loading batteries of the FCRH-24K.
• Plug the battery charger into the power source: the
red light will go on
• Insert the battery in the charger. The red light goes
off and green light starts blinking repeatedly: the
charging process has started now.
• When the charging is finished, the green charging
light will stay on (does not blink anymore) and the
red light is still off. The charger is now on “trickle
charge” mode.
• If the battery becomes too hot or when the battery is
not connected correctly on the charger, the red light
will go on and charger will not charge.
• The energy display (8) on the battery gives
information about the charge.
Tips for maintaining maximum battery life
• Charge the battery completely when you do not use
the machine for more than six months.
• Charge the battery before it is completely
discharged: recharge the battery when you notice
that the power decreases.
• Never recharge a fully charged battery.
