INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Dual Fan Blower System
The Model BK2 blower system (see Figure 1) can be installed in
any existing circulating model wood-burning or unvented rebox
having a prewired 120 VAC duplex power receptacle.
CAUTION: Turn off gas supply, discon-
nect electric circuit and allow the appliance to
fully cool down before performing this instal-
lation. Glass and refractory panels may be
heavy for some individuals. Two people may
be required to perform this installation.

ACCESSING BLOWER COMPARTMENT
1. Fold dooors (fully open) and press up on the upper door spring
clip until top pin is free of the spring clip. Tip door toward middle
of replace opening and lift door out of lower pivot hole (See
Figure 2.)

2. Remove front refractory access panel by lifting up and angling
out through the replace opening (see Figure 3).
3. Remove the control cover panel.
4. Remove lower louver panel (if installed) by gently pushing out
the panel from inside the mounting frame.
5. Remove knockout plug from lower louver panel (see Figure 3).
6. Place fan assembly with blades pointing towards the rear of the
replace and in between the two leg stands (see Figure 4).
7. Using screws provided, fasten upper ange of blower bracket
to hearth pan. Fasten end anges to supports with remaining 4
screws (see Figure 4).
Note: The wire assembly must be arranged in front and away from

MOUNTING AND CONNECTING SWITCH
1. Remove the 2 connectors from the ON/OFF rocker switch located
on the wiring (see Figure 5).
2. Insert rocker switch into lower louver panel with switch lever
pointing outward.
3. Reconnect previously removed wire connectors into switch
terminals.
4. Insert supply plug into one of the available power receptacles
at right of compartment (see Figure 5).
IMPORTANT: Be sure to inspect components and wiring for
damage before restoring power to the appliance. If damaged,
contact an authorized dealer for original replacement parts or
call DESA at 1-866-872-6040 for referral.

COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION
1. Reinstall the louver panel (if equipped) into the framed opening
of the louvers pointing down.
2. Apply wiring diagram label (see Figure 6) to control cover.
Replace control cover.
3. Reinstall front refractory panel and glass doors in reverse order
in Figure 2, page 1.
4. To operate, turn rocker switch to ON position.
