1. Important before installation
1.1 Application
Danfoss Online is a tool to remotely manage and administer Danfoss heat pumps for home via the Internet.
With Danfoss Online, customers can monitor and control their heating system from any computer that is
connected to the Internet. This allows the customer to control the indoor temperature remotely e.g. It also
provides the opportunity for a better and safer support for you as an installer by allowing you to quickly and
easily control the operating conditions without having to go out to the installation site.
The system also includes an alarm function that forwards the alarm from the heat pump via emails and
mobile app notifications.
1.2 Checklist before ordering Danfoss Online
1.2.1 System requirements
Danfoss Online is a HTML5-based web production
This means of course some system limitations and we have choosed to support the 4 most popular web
browsers.
These are without any ranking:
Internet Explorer (9.0+)
Mozilla Firefox (latest version)
Google Chrome (latest version)
Apple Safari (latest version)
Other system requirements are that Java script has to be activated and that the web browser also has to
accept cookies.
Note that the login procedure is cookie based.
These cookies live for short while before inactivation. If the system clock at the login person is 5 minutes
ahead, the cookie will be too old and the login will fail.
1.2.2 Internet connection
Since Danfoss Online is based on communication over the Internet, of course this connection is essential.
The connection may be divided into two main categories, one of which is called "Mobile" and the second is
"Fixed". With mobile means that you are connecting via a 3G/4G Router containing a SIM card, and
communicates over the mobile network. In this case, it is important to have a sufficiently strong GPRS signal
where the router's antenna is located. Check with the prospective mobile broadband supplier that there is
sufficient coverage in the area where Online is to be installed.
With fixed connection means is connected to the Internet via any form of cable or fiber. The link between the
heat pump, the different connection options and responsibilities in between are shown in the figure below.
1.2.3 Internet connection in company domains, commercial buildings etc.
For the Danfoss Online accessory to work, it takes either a direct internet connection or a NAT-
router/firewall. DHCP has to be activated in the router. Is there a proxy server (often used by, for instance
major companies / organizations, there is currently no support for this.

1.3 Agreement, use and storage of personal data

when they occur.
1.4 Operation of the system
