EveryChannelcanbeadjustedtothecorrespondingshutter/jalousiebyhisparametersettings.For
everychannelyoucanadjustthetraveltimeandactuatethechannelmanualaswellasbyabsolute
positiondevices.Furthermoreyoucanrestrictthetravelareaandblindscanbeadjustedforjalousie.
Everychannelcanbeaddictedtoblockfunctionsandscenes.Theautomaticfunctionenablesthe
usertoapproachfixedadjustedpositionsbyusing1bitobjects.Thisfunctionappertainsexcellentto
adjustpositionsforsunprotection,whichareactivatedbyalightsensor.Additionalyoucanactivate
weatheralertsforeverychannel,whichcancauseparameterizedfunctions.
FurthermoretheMRDCdevicesdisposeoveramanualcontrol,whichenablestheusertoactuatethe
shutters/jalousiebyhand.Themanualcontrolcanbedeactivatedforeachchannel.

Theshutteractuator(MDRC)containsofaprogrammingbuttonaswellasaprogrammingLED,which
showsanactivatedprogrammingbutton.Theshutteractuatorworkswith230VAC,onlythe
actuatorsJAl0410D.01andJAL0810D.01workwith24VDC.EverychanneloftheMRDCdevice
containsoftwostatusLEDs,thefirstoneforanactivatedrunupcommandandthesecondonefor
anactivatedmovedowncommand.Byusingthefourbuttonsyoucanactivatethehandcontrol.
Withthebuttonsleft/rightyoucanchosethechannelandwiththebuttonsup/downyoucanmove
thechanneldownorup.
Theshutteractuatorforthesurfaceinstallationsconsistsonlyofthestandardelementslikebus
connection,powerconnection,programmingbuttonandLED.

Thefunctionalityisthesameforallchannels.Dependingonthehardwaremodulethedevice
containsofuptoeightchannels.
Thelabelingofthechannelsisconductedstandardlyincontinuousalphabeticorder.
Therearethreepossiblefunctionalities:

Thechannelbecomesnomorefunctionsallocated.Therearenomoreopportunitiesto
parameterizethechannel.

Ifyouchooseachannelasshutter,youhavedifferentpossibilitiestoparameterizethe
movingoftheshutters.Byusingdifferentsettingsformovement,youcanadaptthechannel
foreveryshutter.Furthermoreyoucanadjustapauseatchangeofdirectionandaswitchon
delayoraswitchoffdelayforthemotor.Alsoyoucanrestrictthedrivingareaormovethe
shutterbygivingabsolutelydrivingcommands.Byusingsceneorautomaticfunctionsyou
canselectmoreshutterswithonlyonedrivingcommand.Therearealsopreferencesfor
weatheralarms.

Ifyouchooseachannelasblinds,youhavedifferentpossibilitiestoparameterizethemoving
oftheblinds.Byusingdifferentsettingsformovementyoucanadaptthechannelforevery
typeofblinds.Furthermoreyoucanadjustapauseatchangeofdirectionandaswitchon
delayoraswitchoffdelayforthemotor.Alsoyoucanrestrictthedrivingareaormovethe
shutterbygivingabsolutelydrivingcommands.Byusingsceneorautomaticfunctionsyou
canselectmoreshutterswithonlyonedrivingcommand.Therearealsopreferencesfor
weatheralarms.
Thefunctionsforshutterandblindsarebasicallythesame.However,thereisnoparameterfor
movingtheslatsattheblinds.

3.1Overview
Thecommunicationobjectsarerequiredtoprogrammingtheproject.Theassignmenttothe
differentgroupaddresscanbemadebyusingthecommunicationobjects.
Thefirstfiveobjectsareglobalobjects,whichcancontrol,dependentontheparameterizationat
everychannel,allchannels.Thefollowingeightobjectsarereservedfortheautomaticfunction.The
firstfouroftheseeightobjects,sotheobjectsfivetoeight,belongtotheautomaticblockA,the
followingeightobjects,sotheobjectsninetotwelve,belongtotheautomaticblockB.
Aftertheobjects,whichcanoperateonallchannels,theobjectsforeverychannelfollow.These
objectsareonlydisplayediftheyareusedbytheparameterization.Theselectionoftheseobjects

4.2.1MeasureofthetimesforMovement
Theindividualtimesforthemovementofshutter/blindscannormallydeterminedverypreciseby
usingastopwatch.
Ifthereareveryshorttimesforthemovement,themeasuringbyusingawatchwillmaybecause
problems.Inthiscaseitisadvisabletoadjustinitiallyanapproximatedvalue,whichshouldbealittle
bitshorterthantherealtimeformovement.Afterwardsyoucantesttheadjustedtimebytriggering
theshuttersorblindsandcontrolwhetherthefinalpositionsareachieved.Iftheyarenotachieved,
youshouldsetthetimeformovementgraduallyhigherbyusingsmallstepsuntilthefinalpositions
areachieved.

4.2.2Movementtime
Themovementtimedescribesthetimewhichtheshutteractuatorneedstodrivetheshutter/blinds
fromonefinalpositiontotheother.Whentheadjustedtimeisoverthechannelissetoffevenwhen
thefinalpositionwasnotachieved.Sotheshutteractuatortriggersthedownmovement/up
movementfortheadjustedtime.
Becauseshuttersandblindshaveoftendifferenttimesfortheupdownmovement,differenttimes
canbeadjustedfortheupanddownmovement(fromhardwareversion2.2).
Checkifthemanufactorygivesanydataforthemovementtimes.
4.2.3Steptimeforblinds
onlyatblinds
Youcanadjustinwhichstepstheblindsshallbeshiftedwiththesetting“steptimeforblinds”.The
openinganglecanadjusttherebyinsmallstepstoprevente.g.aglareofthesunafterachangingof
thesolaraltitude.
Additional,itispossibletoadjustthesteprangeinawaysothattheblindsdrivefromonefinal
positiontotheotherinaspecificnumberofsteps.Forthiswayofblindmovement,youhavetoset
thesteptimeforblindstoamultipleofthe“durationofblindsadjustment”.Therebythemultipleof
thedurationtimespecifiesthenumberofsteps,whicharerequiredtodrivetheblindsfromonefinal
positiontotheother.
ForExample:Durationofblindadjustment:3000ms
 Steptimeforblinds=300ms
Numberofsteps=10thereforethevalues0%,10%,…,100%canbeappointed
