Preparing Your Site
1. Determine where the display will be located and place/ mount the
display appropriately.
NOTE: The maximum distance of the display adapter is limited to the distance of your
802.11n/g Wireless network device. If the wireless signal is obstructed by walls, or other
interference the signal quality and maximum distance will likely be reduced.
Ensure the Receiver Unit is situated near an available AC electrical outlet.
Hardware Installation
1. Connect an HDMI video cable from the HDMI out port on the Wireless Video
Adapter to the HDMI in port on the HDMI enabled display device.
2. Connect the power adapter from an available AC outlet to the power adapter port
on the Wireless Video Adapter.

Connect the USB to power cable from an available USB power source to the power
adapter port on the Wireless Video Adapter.
3. Press the Power button to the in position to turn on the device, the Power LED will
be activated.

Software Operation / Installation
Initial Software Operation
1. Once Installation has completed, and the device has been turned on, the menu
below will appear on your HDMI enabled display device, with an IP address listed at
the bottom. By default the IP address will be:
http://192.168.59.254/remote
2. Using a WIFI enabled device with web browser, such as a computer or SmartPhone.
Connect to the Wireless Video Adapter by browsing for available networks and
connecting to the WIFI2HDMC.
NOTE: By default the SSID for the device is WIFI2HDMC and there is no security
key. Please review the manual for WIFI enabled device for specic details regarding
connecting to a wireless network.
3. Once you have connected to the device, open your web browser visit the Setup IP
address listed on the display.
NOTE: By default the Setup IP address is: http://192.168.59.254/remote

4. This will display the virtual remote control. Using the remote control you can
operate the user interface displayed on your display.
The virtual Remote control allows for advanced device operation. Download the full
product Manual at StarTech.com for advanced operation.
Connect a Miracast Enabled Mobile Device
NOTE: Exact steps regarding Miracast setup will vary from device to device. Please
review the documentation included with your SmartPhone or tablet for steps specic
instructions.
1. Press the Mode button on the Wireless Video Adapter repeatedly until you see the
Wi-Fi Miracast screen shown on your display.

2. Open your mobile settings page.
3. On the Settings browse to Display->Wireless Display, or Media Output, or All Share
Cast depending on your device.
NOTE: Other terminology may be used depending on your device.
4. By default the Wireless Video device will be listed as the MAC address shown on the
HDMI display. Tap this device to connect.
5. The video from your Miracast enabled mobile device will now be shown on your
video display.
Intel® WiDi Operation Wirelessly Share Your PC Screen
1. Press the Mode button on the Wireless Video Adapter repeatedly until you see the
Wi-Fi Miracast mode shown on your display.

2. Open the WiDi software included with your Wi-Di enabled computer system.
3. The adapter will be listed under detected adapters.
4. Select the adapter and click connect.
5. Your computer screen will now be shared wirelessly on the display.
