2 Produktbeschreibung
Der Multi Sensor Connector (MSC) ermöglicht die Kaskadierung der sicheren Mehr‐
s
trahlscannern scanGrid2 I/O.
Der Multi Sensor Connector hat eine Schnittstelle für den Systemanschluss und 2
weitere Schnittstellen, um 2 sichere Mehrstrahlscanner zu verbinden.
Die dritte Schnittstelle dient auch zum Anschluss eines weiteren Multi Sensor Connec‐
tor. Damit kann die Gesamtanzahl an sicheren Mehrstrahlscannern in einer Kaskade
erhöht werden.
Es können maximal 4 sichere Mehrstrahlscanner in einer Kaskade verbunden werden.
3 Elektrische Installation
Voraussetzungen
Die A
usgänge des sicheren Mehrstrahlscanners scanGrid2 I/O sind wie folgt konfigu‐
riert:
•
Das OSSD-Paar (Pin 2 und Pin 4) ist im PNP-Modus.
•
Der aktive Signalpegel des Universalausgangs (Uni-O, Pin 5) ist im Zustand LOW.

Vorgehensweise
Ansc
hlüsse Multi Sensor Connector:

en Systemanschluss der externen Schnittstelle am Anschluss 1 des Multi Sen‐
sor Connector anschließen.
2.
Sensor 1 am Anschluss 2 des Multi Sensor Connector anschließen.
3.
Sensor 2 am Anschluss 3 des Multi Sensor Connector anschließen.

Es sind 2 Sensoren in einer Kaskade geschaltet.
4.
Wenn mehr als 2 Sensoren kaskadiert werden sollen, am Anschluss 3 einen
weiteren Multi Sensor Connector anschließen.
5. Anschließend mit Schritt 3 und 4 fortfahren.

Es sind maximal 4 Sensoren in einer Kaskade geschaltet.

-Fix-Halterung (1) auf einer ebenen Fläche montieren.
2. M5-Schrauben mit einem Drehmoment von ca. 3 Nm befestigen. Höhere Drehmo‐
mente können die Halterung beschädigen, geringere Drehmomente bieten keine
ausreichende Sicherheit gegen Verschieben.
3. Multi Sensor Connector in die C-Fix-Halterung einsetzen und leicht nach unten
drücken (2).
4.
Multi Sensor Connector nach hinten drehen (3), bis die C-Fix-Halterung im Gehäu‐
seschlitz des Multi Sensor Connector einrastet (4).
5. M3-Schrauben der C-Fix-Halterung mit einem Drehmoment von ca. 1,5 Nm befesti‐
gen, um den Multi Sensor Connector zu fixieren (5).

1 About this document
This document applies to the Multi Sensor Connector with part number 2118543.
2 Product description
The Multi Sensor Connector (MSC) enables cascading of the scanGrid2 I/O safe multi‐
be
am scanners.
The Multi Sensor Connector has one interface for the system connection and 2 addi‐
tional interfaces to connect 2 safe multibeam scanners.
The third interface is also used to connect another Multi Sensor Connector. This can
increase the total number of safe multibeam scanners in a cascade.
A maximum of 4 safe multibeam scanners can be used in a cascade.
3 Electrical installation
Prerequisites
T
he outputs of the scanGrid2 I/O safe multibeam scanner are configured as follows:
•
The OSSD pair (pin 2 and pin 4) is in PNP mode.
•
The active signal level of the universal output (Uni-O, pin 5) is in the LOW state.

A
ttach the system connection of the external interface to the 1 connection of the
Multi Sensor Connector.
2.
Attach sensor 1 to the 2 connection of the Multi Sensor Connector.
3.
Attach sensor 2 to the 3 connection of the Multi Sensor Connector.

2 sensors are switched in a cascade.
4. If more than 2 sensors are to be cascaded, attach another Multi Sensor Connector
to the 3 connection.
5. Then continue with step 3 and 4.

Mount t
he C-Fix bracket (1) on a level surface.
2. Tighten the M5 screws with a torque of approx. 3 Nm. Higher torques can damage
the bracket; lower torques provide inadequate protection against displacement.
3. Insert the Multi Sensor Connector into the C-Fix bracket and gently press it down‐
ward (2).
4.
Rotate the Multi Sensor Connector towards the back (3) until the C-Fix bracket
engages with the slot in the Multi Sensor Connector housing (4).
5. To secure the Multi Sensor Connector, tighten the M3 screws of the C-Fix bracket
with a torque of approx. 1.5 Nm (5).
