5.8 Stationary Cooling (supplementary equipment)
!
Switching on the stationary cooling
The stationary cooling may only be operated under the following conditions:
•
The vehicle must be on even ground so that the condensation can drain away
•
The vehicle engine must be switched off and the ignition key removed
•
All cargo space doors must be securely shut
!
I
To switch on the stationary cooling, proceed as follows:
➤ Park the vehicle on a level surface.
➤ Turn off the vehicle’s engine and remove the ignition key.
➤ Ensure all cargo space doors are securely closed.
CAUTION!
Ensure that the protective cover of the 230 V device plug on the vehicle is
always closed when the stationary cooling is not on.
CAUTION!
•
Always connect the 230 V connection cable on the vehicle first before con-
necting the stationary cooling to the 230 V power supply.
•
Before you start the vehicle again, you must disconnect the 230 V power
supply cable again from the socket on the vehicle.
•
The 230 V power supply connection of the stationary cooling may only be
operated with a fault current protected switch with a nominal current of
30 mA and an earthed, splash water-protected power supply socket.
•
Handle the 230 V connection cable with care so that it cannot be damaged
by heat, movement or sharp objects.
•
If the 230 V connection cable has been stretched or pulled in any way, you
must check whether the 230 V device plug or other parts on the vehicle
have been damaged. Damaged cables must be replaced.
•
Only use the original 230 V connection cable with the original 230 V
MiniPlug device plug.
•
Only use contact spray that is suitable for electrical components when
cleaning the electrical contacts and contact pins under the protective cover
of the 230 V device plug.
•
Check the contacts, the cover and also the 230 V connection cable for
damage before and after use. If the contacts, the cover or the connection
cable are damaged, these must be replaced.
NOTE
The 230 V connection cable has also been especially designed and tested for
use at cold temperatures. The connection cable will not incur any damage dur-
ing normal winding at very low outside temperatures, even if the cable feels
stiffer the colder it gets.
