Manual Marantz PMD620 voice recorder:
I. Quick start:
1. Slide and hold the POWER slide switch to turn the recorder on/off. (FIG 2- 4)
2. Press the REC button to record (FIG 1 – 5)
3. Adjust the audio input level with the REC LEVEL buttons (FIG 2 – 1 and 2)
4. Press the REC PAUSE button to pause the record.(FIG 1 -4) – (file will not be broken) or stop to close the file
(FIG 1 -8)
5. Press PLAY/ENTER (FIG 1 – 10) to play the records.
NOTE:
The LEVEL LED (FIG 1 – 1) turns on (GREEN) when a sound is input during RECORD or REC-PAUSE.
The OVER LED (FIG 1 – 2) turns on (RED) when a sound is over peak level during RECORD or REC-PAUSE.

II. Menu:
1. Press DISPLAY button (FIG 1 – 6) during 3 seconds to enter MENU on display (FIG 3)
Menu list appears in the display (FIG 3)
The selected item is highlighted
2. Press VOL + / VOL – to select the item (FIG 1 – 9 /12)
3. Press the PLAY/ENTER button (FIG 1 – 10) to confirm or execute de selected item.

MENU: ITEMS AND FUNCTIONS
1 FILE LIST: Browse audio files
2 UTILITY MENU: rename/ delete files, format card
3 PRESET MENU: preset 1, 2, 3:
- input mic, - rec format, - input jack, sample rate, - manual track, - auto track, - silent skip, - level control, etc
NOTE option SILENT SKIP in PRESET MENU:
The SILENT SKIP automatically pauses recording when there is a period of silence and a resume recording when
sounds resumes.
SILENT SKIP looks for sound below a preset level for three seconds time. When that occurs, the PMD620 switches to
REC-PAUSE. When a signal above a preset level is input, recording resumes.
SILENT SKIP CHOICES:
OFF
- 60 dB
- 54 dB
- 38 dB
- 20 dB
To store changes press DISPLAY button (FIG 1 – 6 ) for 3 seconds.
Press STOP/CANCEL (FIG 1 – 8) to exit MENU without changes.
REC FILE FORMAT:
The PMD 620 can record in several compression algorithms. (Choosing in PRESET MENU)

III. Battery
The PMD620 operates on 2 standard AA size alkaline, or NI-MH batteries.
